In AutoCAD Architecture 2009 (Win XP) it works fine.
In AutoCAD Architecture 2011 (Win 7) the drawing is still password protected.

1.) crosshair
2.) clear swipe areas
3.) Desktop Tools (like the Idea where you placed the "hacked" ones)
4.) beiing able to kill the tabs at the bottom and the apple bar at the top
5.) TRIM MODE like AVID (no ones really knows how handy this thing is when you have 16or more audio tracks at a feature film)
6.) Give us a snapshot of an image that we can grade a little bit better. (or show me where it is ;-))
7.) Easy subtitle option (STL Import or whatever - change all the 700 Titles in one go...
8.) The ability to conform to PARTIAL FileNames (would make relinking of fals imported D5 Material from Meda Composer wayyyy easier - since AVID keeps the names but adds a zillion of useless characters at the end)
8.a) straight forward force relink option.
9.) simple blur functions in text editor
10.) direct output for H.264 for blu ray that we can use directly in Encore (or do we have that?)

We can password protect that file, but it will ask password while opening it. I need to protect this file like Excel that "anyone can open it but they can't modified istead of typing password". I need to open and attach as xref it in autocad not in autocad reader (DWS).

Sep 4, 2012I am currently using Civil 3D 2013, and when I do a qsave, my drawing gives me the following error dialogue box.
"Drawing File is Write Protected" - I am the only on in the files, so now my file is currently Read Only - then I am able to re-open the same file as the same time I have the currently read only version open.
I am getting this currently after or during Plan Production, creating sheets, and I do a qsave.
I am using Civil 3D 2013 Hotfix 1
Windows 7 64 bit system
12GB Ram
Quad Core Xeon 3.2
Server is using Microsoft Server 2008

Sep 3, 2004I'm a photographer, and I do a lot of editing in Photoshop.
One time my computer's OS crashed, and it's an emergency to finish my work within the morning, so I took my harddisk and went outside to look for public computers.
Since my file is copyrighted and private, I was afraid that my PS files we're copied over the network and viewed after I left the computer shop.
Is there any options or plugins that we can use, to set and open the PS file in the photoshop program with password protection [or encryption]?
So we can, atleast, have confidence when bringing these files anywhere...

Jan 7, 2013How do I get my Sheet Set Manager to open up each time I open a CAD drawing? I turned it off and can't remember how to turn it back on. I use command SSautoopen, set to 1 but doesn't alway work. Sometimes if I close AutoCad and reopen it I can got to drop down menu and click on .dst extension and it will open but if I close out of it it won't open again unless I restart AutoCAD. I thought I used a command from the Express Tool menu but can't find it.

Nov 10, 2011I downloaded multi-batch as someone here said they like it for batch plotting. Once installed, however, it has changed a setting in AutoCAD. I can no longer open more than one drawing at a time. If I have a drawing open and try to open another drawing it asks me if I want to save the current open drawing.
I can not close a drawing either without exiting AutoCAD or trying to open another drawing. I un-installed multi-batch but it did not fix the problem.

Sep 27, 2013i install autodesk remote to try it out from home. when i went to my office to the actual work station i rebooted my machine and now im getting a popup box that says my menu file is write protected. i uninstalled the file, and rebooted my machine and im still getting this warning that my menu is write protected,. no other work station is getting this error, the menu file is a shared file running off a network and no other versions exists on my hard drive.

I can't delete them, "Protected system files" the warning says. And there are others, like ADMUI2LG Regular, are those needed for functionality? No Koreans or Arabs are ever going to use this machine, unless it's stolen perhaps, and I'm not being racist, I just want to cut the cr*p. If I use File Assassin to delete them will CS 6 stop working? Or will Big Brother System just recreate them?
