AutoCAD Inventor :: Prompting To Check Out Multiple Times
Jul 11, 2013A drawing that is in Vault, it asks if you want to check it out, and if you say no (like if you just need to print it), it opens it then asks you again if you want to check it out? Did it not get the hint the first time?

Aug 2, 2012Having problems with the updated new file dialog and I'm not talking personal problems. I switched it to detail view and widened up the name column so I could see the whole name. I could actually live with that setup however the next time I opened the new file dialog all the columns returned to their default size and the sort also reverted.
Is it just me or does the new file dialog not remember any changes to it's layout?
AutoCad 2D :: DText Not Prompting For Text Rotation Angle
Jun 22, 2011I've received a drawing from a client today and in it there are several text styles. One has Arial as its font. When this text style is current and we insert some dtext AutoCAD does not prompt for the text rotation angle, it uses the last rotation angle we used.
As far as I know there is no system variable that controls this behaviour, or have I missed it. Other delivered text styles do not have this problem.

Aug 15, 2013I have many pictures (about 10'000). Now i need a search (smart search) with pictures where only my mother (is marked)
On all my pictures each person is tagged. For my mother the Person Tag is called "mother"
I created a saved search with the criteria Person include "mother". The problem now is that also pictures are shown with my mother and other persons. But i would like only pictures from my mother without other persons. Something like... "Person is mother and not person "sister" and not person "friends" etc.
Lightroom :: Library Search Filters Criteria Randomizes When Toggling Search On And Off
Aug 15, 2013I'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. Not sure if this started happening with the 5.2RC version or if it's been an issue for a while.
While in Library mode, when I choose a library search filter preset, say all 5 stars, and then toggle the filter off and on again, the search criteria randomizes to something wildly different than what I was just searching for, for example, adding text and metadata to the search queries when I only had star attributes selected a few seconds before.
I've experimented with turning the filter lock icon on and off and that seems to have no effect. Switching between folders in my catalog and toggling search off and on, results in the same random search criteria being generated.
Lightroom :: Making Exact Search Queries In Text Search?
Mar 6, 2013Lightroom 4.2 – the situation is this, I have a number of pictures of group shots with many people. I tag each person in each photo. I show my photos to these people and they would like a print of photos with them in it. I am an amature photographer currently located in India where most people have no cameras, so I normally oblige if someone wants my of them pictures printed. On one such occasion I took a week long trip with some friends.After showing them the pictures I tagged “Print for Raju”, “Print for Priya”, “Print for Varun”. The problem arises now when I try to search keywords in the “contains all” section, “print for varun” doesn’t do an exact search. Rather if Raju wanted a picture of Varun printed, that picture would have the tag “Varun” and “print for Raju” and which would make the photo included in my search “print for varun” even if varun doesn’t want the picture.
Is there a way to search EXACTLY what I type? If my picture has 15 tags, “contains all” will search all those tags and if it can piece together the three words I am searching for out of all of the tags, it will reveal results inconsistent with my desires.I realize now that I could use collections instead of tags for compiling pictures to print for people.
Photoshop :: Actions Are Now Prompting For OK At Every Step
Apr 24, 2013My Actions are now prompting for "OK" at every step along the way. Which means I have to press OK 4-5 times for each action. Whereas before it was just a one click process. I have reinstalled Photoshop and it is still happening. I am on PS 7 and on Windows 7.

Mar 27, 2013For an autocad assignment, we have been given a drawing in engineering notation (feet and inches) and have to draw it with SI units dimensions. Doing the drawing was fine, BUT, I drew it in inches and thought that I could change it to millimetres.
I have used the units command initially to set up engineering. Then after drawing returned to units to change to decimal. Dimensions turned out in inches regardless. I also tried the scale command to alter the scale, then dimension , still no luck. I went into the annotation menu got to modify primary units and alternate units and still no luck. Not even my tutorial teacher knows how to do this.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Search Through Vault Folder?
Apr 11, 2013I'm using the free Vault that doesn't have a batch print option so I've been writing some code that does the trick.
The code lists open drawings, assemblies and parts, and depending onwhich is selected, displays a list of all the drawings associated with the file and it's sub-components.
Everything is good except that when the list of drawings is populated I am only able to search through the working folder for drawings. This means that if the drawing has been modified by another, or the drawing has not been opened on the local computer, it will not print (or print the old version).
Is there a way to pull the latest files from vault into the working folder automatically? Currently the only way this is possible is by selecting "Get/Checkout" in vault and downloading the files.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Sequence For Search Path
Nov 27, 2012I am having an issue with my assembly grabbing an out of date part. I was wondering what the sequence for the search path Inventor goes thru. I assume it first searches the folder you are in but does it go down, up after that? If there is a part below which way does it go? Is there a possibility it could be grabbing the wrong part if it is not in the same folder?

I see no edit menu in Inventor.

I have contacted Adobe and they say they no longer support CS5 - I have considered upgrading to CS6 but this version was already installed on my computer at work when I started the job and I can't find the box with the serial number in order to upgrade. I would love to just fix the plug in issue and keep using CS5.

Apr 5, 2012We are using AutoCAD Map 3D 2011 (Service Pack 2 - Version 3). This is replicable on multiple machines in multiple OS environments.
We attach a source drawing, run a query on Object Data but when that data appears in Model space it appears without any of the accompanying text for that object.
You can then execute the same query with a crossing window which brings in the surrounding objects including their text, but the original object still does not have its text. If you delete the object and re-run the query with the crossing window again, then the object appears with its text.
This is a nightmare for the users because if they want to search on a specific object, and then have to delete it to get it back with the text, they then have to search for the item in amongst all the other items. This kind of defeats the purpose of querying that object in the first place.
Is this just the way AutoCAD functions, or are we doing something wrong in our process sequence for querying the object data?

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Lookup Table Properties Value Returned Within Field
Aug 24, 2012I am unsure weather to post this in Dyn Block technical or Fields as it comprises elements of both.
I am trying to get a field to return a 'lookup properties' value...
Actually, what I am trying to do is use a field to display either a + or a - depending upon upon the state of a flip parameter.
How I have been trying to achieve that is by using a lookup table to assign:
Input Properties.....Lookup Properties
Not flipped........=............+
Flipped.............=............-
Then I'm setting a Field to look at the Object 'Lookup Parameter' and return 'Lookup Action'.
The field then displays '#########' when testing the block.
When I return to edit the field it complains 'the object referenced y the field has been erased'. Both the table and parameter are still there, so I don't know what the problem is. Is there a better way of having a field return a specific value based upon a parameter state?

Command: id
Specify point: end
of X = 709369.3214 Y = 7153039.9690 Z = 269.2143
However if I use..
(vlax-safearray->list (vlax-variant-value (vla-get-coordinates (vlax-ename->vla-object (car (entsel))))))
I get this

and if I 'dump' the object..

I don't have a clue where the '-450567.0' is coming from.
I'm in Model Space in 'World' UCS, and I'm confused.. why does the 'ID'd' value not reflect whats going on when I use the vla-get-coordinates approach.
There are many other LWPolylines within the same model that behave normally.
I've attached the drawing (I think!)
