If I have 4 Scratch disks does photoshop use all scratch simultaneously or does it wait for the first scratch to fill up before it starts to use the next one ?

Originally was using Vs10 when most of my discs would only get to 58% and go no further, threw away many discs thinking they were the problem. Have now upgraded to VS11.
The solution is to get hold of a small (free) utility called FixVTS from here: [URL]

After some fooling around with LR4, I went out and bought Martin Evenings PSLR4 'book', did some read and started looking for a photo to play with...
I discovered that all of the photos on my usb hard drive were either write protected or the image type was not supported-they're all .jpg. I had done some Copyright stuff on a few photos the day before...fooled around with import and export and some other exploring.

I am building a standalone VB app to edit block attribute values. It works fine until I try to save the drawing(s) and ACAD give this message.
By the way. Only happens when I try to save it from VB. In ACAD I can open and save fine.

I'd like to format the memory stick that Inventor was shipped on. (Don't need it anymore) But when I tried to format the stick I got a error "The disk is write protected". Is it not possible to format the disk? I rather reuse it than throw it in the thrash..

I get this error "sometimes". It really doesn't seem to have any pattern, i run the calculation several times, it always stops at different point or it finishes successfully.
only connection is the method. It's always at Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Entity.IntersectWith(Entity entityPointer, Intersect intersectType, Point3dCollection points, IntPtr thisGraphicSystemMarker, IntPtr otherGraphicSystemMarker)

I have Photoshop CS3 (and Windows Vista) and just recently every time I attempt to crop, it gives me the error message that my scratch disks is full. I went into my Preferences and put my C: drive as my first choice (which is only about 10 percent full) and my D: drive as my second. I have a new HP with the D: drive being the recovery portion of the hard drive. I have gone in and cleaned it out. I have restarted both Photoshop and my computer. I read online that you can clean out all of the temp files but it did not say where to locate them. I have searched for "#pst" files. I also can't find my "Local Settings" (because Vista still confuses me) to find temp folders. The only temp folders, I can find has nothing to do with Photoshop.

so I got the 'scratch disks are full' message when I tried opening new projects. After googling, I read to just change the location to another hard drive instead of the main one, so I went into preferences, unchecked the C drive & checked the E drive. Now photoshop won't let me open it. I get this message:
"Could not open a scratch file because the fil eis locked, you do not have nexassary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file." how do I do this, exactly?

PS CS3
I am trying to crop a JPG slightly to get a specific size. I have set the size in the toolbar of the crop tool and draw the crop mask, but when I try to complete the crop it says "Cannot complete your request because the scratch disks are full". I have two disks on this machine, one with 26GB free and the other with 77GB free and this is only a 250x970px image. I did several prior crops on the same image among other operations, but wanted to use the exact size on this one since it needs to fit in a rotating banner for a website. I can crop it if I leave out the exact size, but then, of course, I am only guessing at the size.

I am creating an extremely large file to be printed @ over 20 feet long. I've been in touch with the printer who told me that my original file, at 1/4 scale and 100 DPI was not high enough resolution, 1/4 would have to be 400 PPI, which is where I am now.

I am currently using Civil 3D 2013, and when I do a qsave, my drawing gives me the following error dialogue box.
"Drawing File is Write Protected" - I am the only on in the files, so now my file is currently Read Only - then I am able to re-open the same file as the same time I have the currently read only version open.
I am getting this currently after or during Plan Production, creating sheets, and I do a qsave.
I am using Civil 3D 2013 Hotfix 1
Windows 7 64 bit system
12GB Ram
Quad Core Xeon 3.2
Server is using Microsoft Server 2008

I'm working with a fairly large CMYK document, 300dpi 160inches x 38inches. On disk it registers as just under 3.69gigs as a .PSB file, and as 1.53g/18.0g in Photoshop's Document Sizes info panel. I'm using CS6 extended.
I'm at the point where I can barely work with this thing any longer, as nearly any time I attempt to run a filter or make basic transformations, I get the "scratch disks full" error and PS is unable to complete the task. I'm also receiving the same error when attempting to save changes to the file to disk.
The thing is, in my performance preferences I have an external HDD with 330gigs of available space set as the primary hard drive, and am still getting this error. If I switch the primary scratch to a second internal 7200rpm HDD with 60gigs available, I don't have that issue for the first couple of operations, until the PS temporary file baloons to 40+gigs and I start getting the error again, necessitating a restart of Photoshop which of course loses my unsaved changes. I've also tried allocating my two internal SSD drives (Windows 7 and applications) as the 3rd and 4th scratch disks, which doesn't seem to work at all. They both have only around 5gigs free each.
