I want to export some polygon shp files into CAD. What I can do easily is determine the line types, colors etc in the export but what I want to to is set the fill. Now I can't see how this is possible as the polygon features are converted to closed polylines in CAD and the hatch is a new feature.
I have a series of polylines with a global width of 5m which I want to export to a polygon shapefile to represent in GIS. I realised if I create a shapefile of the polylines and then create a buffer of 2.5m on either side I can create my desired polygon. My question is how do I export this polygon to a shapefile. I have tried bulk copy but this just seems to revert the buffer back to a polyline shapefile .
I have a series of polygons for a dataset that I need to export as an SDF. One of these polygons has a hole in the middle which I need to preserve. If I export it as it is, then I will get two polygons, one inside the other that will sit one on top of the other.
I have a polygon with a hole in it. I want to export this exterior polygon to a shapefile. I want the shape file to display as a "donut" if you get my meaning. The shape keeps coming in completely hatched ignoring the island within. Is there a way to do this with the 2008 software?
I am exporting shape files for a GIS user. I am using the correct coordinate system and my units are in feet and decimal degrees. I can export the lines and points with attributes and they import into GIS just fine. When I export a polygon with or without attributes, when i import them into GIS i get the error "One or more of the added layers has an extent that is not consistent with the associated spatial reference."
If I run the action on one file, it works perfect. If I try to run it as a batch, it creates the bmp files fine. But it also creates either a .ai file, or two .eps files!
Writing one or two extra files signifiantly shows the process down.
After I run the batch it is not hard to simply delete the extra .eps/ai files of course.
But writing those files seriously slows the process down, and I have about 89,000 more files to go.
When I try to export retouched files to hard drive files my Mac crashes and has to be force quitted. I thought this maybe a L'room 4 problem so I bought L'room 5 and it's still happening. What can I do?
When trying to export RAW files to TIF files I get following Warning message:
Unable to Export:
An internal error has occured: Win32 API error 2 ("The system cannot find the file specified.") when calling ShellExecuteExW from AgWorkspace.shellExecute.
This happpens in LR 4 and I never had this problem in previuos version.
I have alot of .stp files that I need to open up and save as a dwg. Is there any function of Inventor that will allow me to do this to many files at once thru a macro or something similiar? When I say many I mean somewhere around 5000. I know enough of inventor to open up the .stp file and export it to autocad. I am using scriptpro from the autodesk website to run a series of commands on the files once I have them in dwg format. Any similar tool for Inventor?
i try to export JT files WITH textures to use in other programs. When I create and export an object as jt with inventor, and import it to inventor again, all textures(from the library and also selfmade) look just fine. When i try to open the same file with 3ds max or jt2go it just doesn't work.
A couple months ago I could export to STL files using Inventor Pro 2012 and a third party could open them on whatever platform they are using. Now when I export to STL files, the third party cannot open them and I cannot open them either on the Inventor Pro 2012 platform. Nothing has changed since the originals were sent to the third party. I have read some of the threads, but there is a lot of STL, none of the ones I read address this problem. The properties from Windows Explorer say the file type is Certificate Trust List (.stl).
I created a new line type from a shape file. When i drew this linetype and then exported the drawing to pdf, I received the error message in the picture. It said the SHX files are missing, but when I looked in the folder, the SHX files were still there.
When export to pdf completed, I was left with a broken shape shown in the attached pdf.
I have been trying to export inventor drawings to dwg files so they can be opened in AutoCAD and be edited. However when they are opened in AutoCAD, the views cannot be exploded for our needs.
The company I work for is looking into buying new AutoCAD software due to upgrading computers. We don't use 3D commands at all and are looking into purchasing the LT version for budgeting reasons. What we are trying to find out now is if you can export and import SHP files from GIS ESRI software. Are you able to edit the SHP files if necessary?
At present I am needing to export a large number of ESRI shape files from AC Map 2011 for use in a GIS application. I know that Map 3D has the export features but after completing 50 exports its does get repetitive and is time consuming.
Is there any way of specifying the name or names of the layers you wish to export and apply attributes to them without having to use the Map 3D Export process?
I want to save a bunch of inventor 2009 idw's to AutoCad dwg's
I realize there are add-ins available for doing this, however i wanted to see how Task Scheduler performed this. I chose a export files task then selected the idw's to save as dwg's
This all went well until i looked at the result.
two things the dwg is saved as filename.idw.dwg I do not want or need the .idw in the new file name, but can find no setting to remove this.
The dwg's are saved to a zip file. Again i neither need or want these in a zip file I just want them save in the same folder as the idw.
I'm using AutoCAD 2000 LT to generate DXF files to drive a CNC router for making panels for electronic equipment, which works fine.
I also want to export DXF files of text to engrave the panels. The router software from Step-Four says it needs the text exploded into objects (lines, curves etc) before importing the DXF file. How do I explode the text in AutoCAD for the DXF files?
Looking for reasons why I can't export DXF files from Inventor Sheetmetal parts. This has only occurred in the last few days.
Error says "Sketch export failed to initialize translator". This occurs when I run either of my 2 DXF macros AND if I RMB on the part Flat Pattern and Export Face As (or something like that - haven't that in a while). The macros lead me to a debug lin of oDataIO.WriteDataToFile sOut, oDXFfileNAME
I have used these 2 macros for 5+ years and have not experienced this before.
Add-ins shows that the Translator: DXF is Automatic / On Demand.
I found an earlier post here [URL] .... but this seems to be loosely related to Avast. I have Trend (server based). Can't remember any new installations of late apart from Flash.
when I export a road file to my TS2 it becomes corrupted (file size 50% of what it should be.
4 months ago there was no problem. The weird thing a is that the other worstation in the office has this issue to.
Here's what I have done to troubleshoot: swapped out both data collectorsexported this rxl file to a virtual instrument on my desktoptalked to cansel and autodesk but the said they haven't seen this problem. I can rule out the following.
trimble/autodesk software, hardware ( to much a coincidence that both work stations have this problem)Data Collectors swapped out - file size of the corrupted rxl were the same on the virtual deskto instrumentcorrupted dwg - exported a road six months ago, now re-exported and the new file is corrupted.
I am trying to export step files from Inventor 2012 into Surfcam. Any files that were created in Inventor translate over as solids. Files that I have imported from step files, recognized features, modified and exported again come into Surfcam as Nurb surfaces. I also tried using Inventor 2013 with the same results.
I've never experienced this problem with earlier versions of Inventor.
I have a data set including .shx .shp .prj and .dbf files each named the same for landuse, rail, road, etc for a single city. How can I open these files to export a simple line drawing for use in a thesis project as a map.
How to split polygon?I am using "bpoly" function when I split the polygon but It's inconvenient. Any better way to split polygons?I go over the functions through help desk.
