When exporting points to a .TXT using PNEZD the elevation goes haywire.
After being exported it reads roughly 69000 in an area where the elevation should be about 5400 to 5800 feet
(very roughtly a factor of 12)
Is there a variable I can change to fix this?
Trimble Access, Civil 3d 2012 export road problem
when I export a road file to my TS2 it becomes corrupted (file size 50% of what it should be.
4 months ago there was no problem. The weird thing a is that the other worstation in the office has this issue to.
Here's what I have done to troubleshoot: swapped out both data collectorsexported this rxl file to a virtual instrument on my desktoptalked to cansel and autodesk but the said they haven't seen this problem. I can rule out the following.
trimble/autodesk software, hardware ( to much a coincidence that both work stations have this problem)Data Collectors swapped out - file size of the corrupted rxl were the same on the virtual deskto instrumentcorrupted dwg - exported a road six months ago, now re-exported and the new file is corrupted.
Both machines are identical:

Identical software installation
Tune up utilities got into my system and was finally removed by windows installer today. I tried 2 times to repair Autocad2011 civil 3d, then 3 times to reinstall it, finally removed all files I could find and tried 2 times to install. Cannot install I get eror 1402 about the key being too full or somtehing like that. It is the student version but I use it for my own use and need to access the files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to speak 'surveyor' without the background in the data collectors. We have a new surveyor who uses Terramodel. I have an LDD parcel database that the surveyor is requesting to be translated to points for stakeout.
I can export the parcels to xml and Terramodel will import them, but it seems to import them as lines. The Surveyor wants points to be able to do a map check in Terra Model and program the data collector. I am not seeing a create points from parcel function anywhere from 2004 to 2012.

I'm working on a stream restoration project and we need to determine the x coordinates and corresponding elevations along a stream alignment at certain sample lines. The centerline of the stream's alignment has been created as well as sample lines for cross sections at 50' intervals. We need the coordinates & elevations of each sample line (cross section) exported into an excel/txt document.
For instance, at station 1+00 of the alignment we have a sample line. We need to know to the right and left along that sample line the corresponding elevations and that x coordinate) from the alignment. Primarily, whole contour intervals but more information would be useful as well. I was hoping this could be automatically generated.
I have been trying to export our 2012 DescKeys with Point Styles and Labels to 2011. How to do this without recreating them all.

i entered to the setting of the point cloud from the toolspace toolbar , i found that there are about 32 million points but only 700000 points are displayed in the drawing. Is there a way to display all the loaded points in my drawing to show all the points since i need to render a high resolution pictures for my lots.
I would like to convert many xyz files, representing point clouds, to the isd files. I have found some dll's dealing with point clouds' objects (see bellow), however I could not find any supporting documentation.
Some sample code in VB.NET or direct me to some useful resources?

Since the last update I am having images corrupted (truncated) by lightroom, when I open some files in CS5 i get the message about the file being truncated and then only half the image come up.
If I export the file again from LR it works so it's not the usual card malfunction or import errors, my hard drive is in fully working order and tested with drive sentinal.
I am having a problem using 2014 civil 3D. When I import las files and create a point cloud, and go on to make a surface from those points, it is limiting the "number of points added" to 340134. I am using the lidar las files which each tile or file has an average of 12 million points, and I have tried to create a surface using one file, and up to 28 tiles (where there should be 340 million points). Regardless, one of the files contains 12 million points and I do have the "point density" set to 100, and the "real time density" set to 100. Why will it only use 340,134 points? I have tried all options from "point cloud extents" to "window" and same result. All the points from the cloud are there and displaying fine, it just seems civil 3d is limiting the number of points used for surface.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy oh why when I export any image from one folder to another do I end up with most keywords applied to that image written to my hierarchical keyword list as a new 1st level keyword and not under the parent keyword as they should be? I've tried everything. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, with the latest LR 3. Export Synonyms, Include on Export, Export containing keywords are all checked with all the keywords and I've unchecked the Write Keywords as Hierarchy in the Export dialogue. With every export I have to clean up my keyword list and I'm at wits end with wasted hours.
View 7 Replies View Relatedhaving major issues with sheet sets in Autocad 2013 (actually we're using Autocad MEP 2013... but haven't gotten any responses to my post over in that forum so trying it here too). We use them constantly, and up til now they've worked great. In 2013, we can't get a .dst file to stay valid for more than 2 hours. You can create them & work with them just fine, but once you close & reopen AMEP it says the .dst is invalid, and it creates a new .dst of the same name in the same directory w/ 0kb file size. After that, nothing works... view names, sheet titles, etc., everything that is driven off the sheet set. And of course every time you have to recreate a sheet set, you have to recreate every detail callout, sheet title, detail title, etc. in the set of drawings.
We've installed AMEP 2013 SP1, doesn't make a difference.
All of our machines are Win7 Pro, mixed 32- & 64-bit, with plenty of processor/memory/graphics capability. Our standardization stuff runs off of our network/NAS drive.
i have been working on a DWG (c3d 2012) most of the day, and sure enough, after my last edit in Model space, c3d crashed.
i can remain in model space, but once I try on open the only layout tab, c3d hangs and crashes. i was able to create a new layout in the command line and rebuild my layout, but i still cannot open the original tab without a crash. i ran AUDIT and found 2 errors, but if i allow c3d to fix or delete them, c3d crashes. also, if i run PURGE, c3d crashes.
how i can determine what is at fault or a method to maybe even isolate the problem? maybe a trick?
i have any problem about export point from dwg to *.txt file.i have point file *.dwg from my friend,,but i confused why that point can't export, show warning "No point were transferred from the source" point is in layer 0...I attach the dwg file.

I would like to make an excel table that i can create multiple points from and make that table dynamic, ie if i edit the table the points will change.I would be labeling the points according to the different desc_# in multiple drawings
Is there any way to do this? I have messed with creating a user defined property classification and creating a new point file format, but i want that point file I imported to be dynamic, and if I change values the values will change in all my drawings.
Ever since I got back to my desk after theEaster break I have had an odd problem witj C3d 2012.
The pop up names of the buttons along the bottom (snap, grid, osnap etc) are apparently now in Chinese. Tool tips for other tools are also containing a mixture f what appears to be Chines plus corrupted characters.
I was undertaking a cut and fill analysis but the values were very different. Evaluating spot levels the depth was given as 1.2m but the volume surface stated it was only .6m.
After a while I noticed that the master surface had been "corrupted" duing a recovery, all definitions to the controlling corridor and other objects had been removed and a snapshot added with the description "added during recovery".
I had to remove the surface and start from scratch re-building the definitions.

Just upgraded from Civil 3D 2010 32-bit to Civil 3D 2011 64-bit. Over the years several user-defined color books were constructed using the Autocad Color Book Editor. With previous upgrades, these ACB files were simply transferred to the new version and worked OK. However, having upgraded to 2011, when the color books are opened, instead of the original colors, the color pages are corrupted, showing what look like Pantone red, green, and blue colors.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently transferred all my work from a work computer to my mac at home. i am unable to access my work computer until October as we are having a 'break'. However, I have a deadline for September 15th and I need all my files.Some older files open perfectly fine but I fear there was a problem in downloading-perhaps due to my haste to leave and enjoy the beautiful weather! I tried downloading a Remo Repair software but unfortunately this was unable to launch.

Lately I've been finding that I've been having lots of corrupted image files -- many of my jpgs and even my psd's have strange bands of colour/image shifts that are permanent, and many of my tif files are now 'unparseable'.
Here is an example of this kind of corruption. Notice the bands of shifted colour and even shifted pixels:
What can be causing this? I'm worried because this is destroying my library of images. I have everything backed up to DVD which is good because I just checked and those files are fine -- so it is some sort of corruption, not software-related.
I was working on a big tif file 2g at size, I edit it with photoshop through adobe lightroom. Due to unknown reason, when i tried to save the file in photoshop, and I was informed the file is non-accessible. It ends up the file is disappeared from hardisk and I used some recovery software to retrieve the tif files. However, it seems a corrupted tif files which can't open in Photoshop or Irfanview.
the error message I got from photoshop is 'could not complete your request, because it is not the right kind of file'.. it is a tif file with layers.
I had tried to google and search, it seems there is no way to repair a corrupted tif files.
When I render a project selecting an “HDV” setting, the result is corrupted. Only about 40% of the image height is displayed. The bottom 10% of the image is inverted to the top, followed by the next 30%, and the balance (the top of the image) is absent. (Audio is normal.) No difference whether I play these files on the PC or on a PS3.
I am using VideoStudio Pro X2. My source files are video only. I do not use transitions or titles.
I capture the video files with a Canon Vixia HF200. They are MTS files, ranging in size from 10MB to 300MB each. I download them to a Dell Dimension 4600 using a USB 2.0 port.
I create smart proxy files and I am able to edit them normally.

I am able to burn them to a DVD normally. Until sometime in March 2010, I also was able to create HD video files normally. Those old projects had the same properties as above. Those old files still play normally. But if I create a new HD video file now, it is corrupted.

This problem affects all “HDV” and “Blu-ray” output formats. Other output formats are OK. The files burn to DVD OK. (I have not tried burning a AVCHD disk lately.)
I downloaded and installed the latest version of DirectX using the link in one of the “Announcements” at the top of this board. This did not solve the problem. (In fact, now if I render a file using HDV 720-30p it does not show at all, and no audio.)
I downloaded and installed the patch for VS Pro X2. This did not solve the problem.
Since I upgraded to Lightroom 4 last week, I've had two occasions where Windows 7 operating system at boot tells me I have corrupt files on the separate 2TB drive I use to store Lightroom catalog and photos on. One difference between my LR3 vs LR4 settings was that I turned on the option to write XMP data to files per advice from Adobe evangelist that this is a better backup strategy in case LR catalog gets corrupt. Wondering whether the LR 4 background process to write out XMP is causing the problem.
It might be a self inflicted wound, as last night, I was importing iPad screenshot PNG files into Bridge, batch renaming them and then exporting them to hard drive as JPG (when is Lightroom going to support PNG?) and synchronizing that folder in LR4 so that I can view in LR4. Maybe the fact that I have LR4 and Bridge open at the same time and doing some operations corrupted them? LR4 got stuck at 1% progress in creating previews, so left the computer on overnight and when I come back in morning, black screen of death. When reboot, says I have to check that drive and finds lots of corrupt record segments. Never had this problem with LR3 and Bridge open at same time before LR4 and turning on the option to write XMP data to files.
I use a fully registered Lightroom 5.3 with my Canon 5D Mark III, and I have this kind of corruption on some of my CR2 files from times to times. If i reimport the .cr2 file in another catalog or even on another the resulting file is still corrupted.
The wierdest thing is that the original import was successful and I successfully exported it several times correctly. The corruption should have happens afterward:
This is absolutely inacceptable from a professional software.
PS: I had this kind of curruption with an old version of Lightroom with my previous pentax K7d, but I though this was past
I've been getting about one or two of these per 3000 photos recently, and obviously it's not a huge deal until it's the ONE image you wanted. I've gone back to the memory card and the file is fine when opened from the memory card and fine when I re-copy the image. Sometimes it's just the preview that looks like this, but when I open it in develop mode it's fine. The file also shows up corrupted when navigate to the folder and open it in photoshop.
This is a rather new phenomenon for me, last year in 125,000 images probably 3 total, but in the last month (10,000 photos) I've had 6. Is it the new version (4.4) of lightroom? Is it my hardrive? Is it my card reader? The only thing I think I've ruled out is my memory cards and camera.
Ok I did this graphic a few years back for a website but now my original files have been corrupted and are not able to be opened. I have lots of similar fonts like ethnocentric but it is not quite right. I have also tried uploading it to font identifier etc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded lightroom 5.4 the other day and today was the first time I went to download images with it.
I could review all my images before I plugged my card into the card reader and attempted to download them, when I opened the import window in lightroom the first image on the card had a preview, but it was greyed out and the rest of the images came up with the .CR2 icon and when I tried to import them I got an error message saying that the files cannot be read.
I tried ejecting the card and putting it back in my camera, but now I can't see the images on my camera either or save them manually to my hard drive.
The files are from a Canon 5D mk II and I shot all the images in RAW with no JPG's.
Civil 3d 2012..I used 3d orbit, it crashed. My points, point groups and newly updated description keys are gone.I have looked at all my backup files etc, and they do not want to display.
