I'm using AutoCAD 2012 and when I try and start the 'ARRAY' command I do not get the popup dialogue box like in earlier versions. I remember recently having the same issue with the HATCH command, but this was solved by altering the 'HPDLGMODE' setting. I've looked for a similar setting for ARRAY but so far come up with nothing.
I'm trying to use the PATH array feature on 2013 to array stairs, and I can't get the array to be 100% accurate. It seems like CAD rounds the decimal to the nearest 3/4" which could be causing the problem.
I set my run to 10.5" and rise to 7.25", array along the angle of the stringer, and there's always a small overlap on the stairs. The "distance between" should be 1'-209/256" and CAD rounds it to 1'-3/4" which is where I believe the error is. Is there any way to fix this or array this correctly? Otherwise...back to the COPY method I suppose.
AutoCAD LT crashes without any dialogue box, in a matter of seconds. This has happened to a whole set of drawings. I have purged, audited, recovered all and copied all the drawing documentation into a new drawing file and it still occurs.
Autocad used to perform the LOFT command partially in the COMMAND LINE and additional properties could be setted in the DIALOGUE BOX.
I used to draw my lofted elements :
1. Pick sections in order 2. Following Guide, Path,... 3. Dialogue box ( sections smooth fit, ruled, normal to,...) 4. Volume was drawn.
Nowdays it's a bit more extended but in step 2 when u pick a path the volume is drawn immediately and I can't append additional properties like in step 3.
when I use the insert command by typing I, I used to get a dialogue box in order to locate the file I wanted to insert, but now I do not get the dialogue box, I get the box with the WBLOCK command when I type W. I have ATTDIA set to 1 and changed it several times to no avail.
Is it possible to create a new TAB in the standard iProperties dialogue box for Inventor Models and Drawings? I want a completely new TAB to hold unique company information fields without having to create Custom Property fields.
Not sure if this is a graphics card issue or not but I'm running autocad architecture 2011 and when I open the layer dialogue box none of the layer names, linetypes, colors and such show's up. The box opens fine, but I can't see anything within the dialogue box. The file that is currently open shows through into the dialogue box.
After trying to rotate a view in a viewport window, I have lost the ability to pick the viewport and right-click to bring up the properties list. What did I change?
how to access offline help dialogue box, which contains in the form of contents so that I can learn AutoCAD systematically? I have AutoCAD 2013 & I have installed 237 MB offline help setup too.
I'm curious if there is a way to array objects which are a set distance off of a polyline, along the polyline at a set distance on center. For instance having a circle a 1/2" off of of the polyline, and arraying that circle at 12" on center along the polyline.
I need to get the values(textstrings) of some AutoCAD table cells into a string array, but I am having troubles. I have the proper table and I can get the contents of individual cells using acTable.Cells(1, 1).TextString, etc... but I cannot seem to remember how to get each cell value into an array.
See code below:
For Each acCell As Cell In acTable If acCell.TextString > Nothing Then strArray() = acCell.TextString 'Does not work End IfNext
I am trying to array a 3d block along a 3d polyline made up of straight plines. I align the block to the end of the endpoint on the 3d polyline ie the path. use array path command. The block does not align properly around the path. I have tried the z direction and selecting no.Attached is a drawing - the strange thing is that path works fine on the red pline but not on the cyan pline.3d Array.dwg
Suddenly today my open dialogue box has reverted to an old-fashioned looking small thing about 7" x 4 1/2" which only shows 7 files at a time. Always before I got a nice big Windows Explorer style box nearly filing the screen. I'm running Windows 7 and Inventor 2011. Is there a switch somewhere to revert to the 'old' type box and that's got switched somehow?
AutoCAD insists on stacking fractions. I've tried everything I can think of to get the Auto Stack dialogue box to come up, but sometime I must have checked the "do not show me this again" box. I can't figure out how to reset the default to horizontal fractions.
A selection box has appeared out of no where in AutoCAD 2011. Whenever I enter a command then select an object a dialogue box called 'selection' appears with a list of possible objects for me to select.
It is extremely annoying. I have attempted to turn it off in options> setting but nothing seems to turn it off.
In AutoCAD 2010, the UCS Icon settings dialogue window has a 'Cone' setting for displaying coned arrows at the end point of each axis. This 'cone' setting has been removed from 2011-2014. What logical reason why this was removed and is it possible there is a hidden setting to bring it back in 2014?
We recently upgraded to Civil 3d 2014 and have had a strange box show up after printing to PDF. We use Acroplot to print to PDF. Please see attachment. It has only happened to 3 users so far and one user's system stopped doing it.
Also experience a slow open and processing initially when you made the switch to 2014 (we upgraded from 2011 c3d). We suspect it may be a conversion of files causing this. Many of the xrefs or DS have not been saved in 2014.
is it possible to Zoom and Pan whilst I have a title box open.I work for a company that has installed its own toolbar and and attribute box's to be filled out. My issue is that I need to zoom into various parts of the drawing to be able to fill out all the boxes.
Currently I have to close the dialogue box down every time I want to move the drawing to a specific area.If there was a command or setting that I could use to be able to keep the box open and move the drawing at the same time.
i know how to apply a filter to my Layers dialogue box - i use this often to just show local layers when i have a .dwg with a few xrefs in it, each of which have heaps of layers within themselves, and i don't need to see the xref layers etc
How to do a similar thing to the Properties bar layer field?
until now, when i needed to change the layer of an entity, i click on the little arrow on the RHS of this drop down field in the properties bar, and then have to seek out my layer name, which could be amongst the hundreds of xref layer names, depending on the naming conventions used etc.
i know with perfect naming convensions or by putting a "0" in front of my local layers, then at least all of mine will be grouped together at the top, but is there a way to bypass that option to ONLY show local layers???
My Reference dialogue box is not appearing separately but it's embedded within autocad. This leaves me with a very small area for the drawing. How do I make it pop up separately. AutoCAD 2012. See attached snapshot.
When I open a .dwg file, 'Missing SHX Files' dialogue pops out. I checked the box 'Always perform my current choice', and clicked 'Ignore the missing SHX files...'. Then .dwg opened, but all text information were not displayed. I closed the .dwg, and reopen again, but this 'Missing SHX Files' does not pop out again.
How to get this 'Missing SHX Files' dialogue back?
When I was open an autocad file most of the time Im getting a warning box "contains macro", is it possible to disable this warning? and im not using any macro here then why this message is coming?
if i try and to open a new file or save as a current file, the windows box does not open. the command line does populate asking for file name, etc, but obviously is very tedious to navigate windows folders with a command line!
any obvious changes that would prevent windows folder dialogue box not to open?
Just installed CAD 2012 LT...how can i get the array window we use to have on previous editions to work again on this edition? When i used to select array on the ribbon, a window was opening, and i choose what i wanted to do...but now,
Rhino allows for two-rail curves and extrusions, is there anything similar in Autocad2013? I'm working on a trellis that has an undulating, slatted top - I can array the slats along one spline/polycurve, but figuring out how to rotate them to match the secondary angle/curve (it twists) is proving to be really difficult. Rotate3D I have trouble with (crossing different faces/USC which confuses me), and doing so for each slat is going to be exceptionally time consuming.
Is there a way to array a form along two paths, so that the pieces automatically adjust to match the needed angles that both rails define?
I have a base(blue) with an array(orange) positioned on a face.
When I select all & UNION the whole geometry becomes orange & I would like it to become blue.Selecting the base first then the array doesn't seem to work.
I'm creating an array using a block from an existing dwg file on my drive. When i import this block on it's own, i can explode it to ownerspace with "bref.ExplodeToOwnerSpace();" but when i'm creating the array, i don't have this ability and i'm left with one of my blocks in the array exploded, and the rest not. How do i explode the blocks in the array? When i try to use acEntClone.ExplodeToOwnerSpace(); it doesn't exist and i only have the option of acEntClone.Explode().
The Original Block Document acDoc = Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument; Database acCurDb = acDoc.Database; LayerTable acLyrTbl;
I am currently trying to draw a football stadium and I have copied the seats along the rows by using the array command. When I click on one seat it selects all the seats from the array. Is it possible to just select one seat incase the other stands don't have the same amount of seats?
