when I use the insert command by typing I, I used to get a dialogue box in order to locate the file I wanted to insert, but now I do not get the dialogue box, I get the box with the WBLOCK command when I type W. I have ATTDIA set to 1 and changed it several times to no avail.
View 7 RepliesI am trying to insert OS Tiles into a drawing using the insert x-ref command. I have managed to insert 192 tiles but still need to add 29 more tiles to complete. When I try to insert another x reference AutoCAD just goes into a continual loop. Have to force AutoCAD to crash after ten minutes.
I am using AutoCAD 2014 MAP and have just had a new system built (i5 processor, 8GB RAM).
I am having a very strange issue with Photoshop CS6 - OSX 10.7 and 10.8 (recently upgraded).I havent been able to figure out how to reproduce this bug though it happens all the time every day while i work.
I work on a file maybe for 10 minutes to 1 hour and when I save a file with command s photoshop does nothing. it will not save until i make any change that registers in the history and then it does save.
Even weirder photohop will close the file as though it had been saved giving no warning box with the "file has been changed, would you like to save?" message.
This has lead to me constantly saving things and double checking if files are saved, it has also lead to me missing a file from time to time and having to redo hour of work. The issue started happening when I recently reformatted and reinstalled all my software.
How do I bring up a dialog box with the insert command? after I type 'insert' it asks me in the command line what the name of the block is. I would like to bring up the dialog box so that I can browse to my block library etc.

I am attempting to insert an image into a sketch to be used as a decal, but it appears as a blank gray box. I created this image in Photoshop CS5 on my Mac Mountain Lion partition. I am running Inventor 2012 on my Windows 7 64-bit partition.
I appear to only have a problem with that specific image. All other images on my harddrive insert correctly. I have tried multiple file types (.jpg, .png, .gif, etc), but nothing has worked. URL.....It may be necessary to note that the image is white text with a transparent background.
Why AutoCAD 2013 turn off dynamic input when we use the insert command. It happens only when using dynamic blocks.

I would like to know if there is a fix/patch for this problem or do I have to re-install the program? My script files run fine, but AutoCAD is placing the blocks at a location that is different than what the input on the command line shows. For instance, I am placing a block at (6,6), which is reflected in the command line, but the block is actually placed at (6,5.898). The 5.898 does not appear anywhere in my script file, and the command line even shows that (6,6) was entered for the insertion point.

It works fine accept for the last part.
When i incert my new name whit the insert command it automaticaly changes the name whit autofil so it wil still pot my originial block (the new block name is only two characters shorter than the old one).
I am having an issue with the sheet set manager's tool to insert sheet list table. I have a new sheet set for a new project that was created entirely in Autocad 2012. When I try to insert a new sheet list table, after I click OK in the Sheet list Table dialoge box, it simply closes to an empty command line with nothing inserted. Why nothing is inserted?

When I insert text with either the TEXT command or MTEXT command, the text is displayed mirrored. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MIRRTEXT variable because that is used when I'm actually mirroring the text. In my case, the text is mirrored as soon as I insert it. How can I get it back to normal? Is there a variable I'm missing?

I write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??
AutoCAD LT crashes without any dialogue box, in a matter of seconds. This has happened to a whole set of drawings. I have purged, audited, recovered all and copied all the drawing documentation into a new drawing file and it still occurs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD 2012 and when I try and start the 'ARRAY' command I do not get the popup dialogue box like in earlier versions. I remember recently having the same issue with the HATCH command, but this was solved by altering the 'HPDLGMODE' setting. I've looked for a similar setting for ARRAY but so far come up with nothing.
Any settings that will revive this dialogue box?
Autocad used to perform the LOFT command partially in the COMMAND LINE and additional properties could be setted in the DIALOGUE BOX.
I used to draw my lofted elements :
1. Pick sections in order
2. Following Guide, Path,...
3. Dialogue box ( sections smooth fit, ruled, normal to,...)
4. Volume was drawn.
Nowdays it's a bit more extended but in step 2 when u pick a path the volume is drawn immediately and I can't append additional properties like in step 3.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.

if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:

Select objects:
same with QSAVE and who knows how many others.
line command is a multiple command. there is a way to execute it like a single command?
