Photoshop :: Command S Works Inconsistently And Displays No Warning Dialogue Box When Closing?
Apr 8, 2013
I am having a very strange issue with Photoshop CS6 - OSX 10.7 and 10.8 (recently upgraded).I havent been able to figure out how to reproduce this bug though it happens all the time every day while i work.Â
Â
I work on a file maybe for 10 minutes to 1 hour and when I save a file with command s photoshop does nothing. it will not save until i make any change that registers in the history and then it does save.Â
Â
Even weirder photohop will close the file as though it had been saved giving no warning box with the "file has been changed, would you like to save?" message.
Â
This has lead to me constantly saving things and double checking if files are saved, it has also lead to me missing a file from time to time and having to redo hour of work. The issue started happening when I recently reformatted and reinstalled all my software.
When I was open an autocad file most of the time Im getting a warning box "contains macro", is it possible to disable this warning? and im not using any macro here then why this message is coming?
My Edit/Fill command (shift + F5) has suddenly turned into Grow. I've seen other people with this problem and the only solution I have seen up to now is to use (shift + delete) instead. That to me isn't a solution, it completely disrupts my workflow to try using a new key command that should be something else. I've also read about people deleting preferences, restarting, etc, and I've tried all of those things. I did have some issues with my Function keys because of something I had clicked in my finder preferences but I fixed that issue, and it seems that only Photoshop has lingering problems. And of course, my PSD keyboard shortcuts all look fine, nothing has changed there so something is overriding the keyboard shortcuts. Could it be something in my Photoshop preferences that I'm overlooking?
I just updated to 13.0.4 at the end of last week. Today I went to use the Color Range command and it will not select any colors. The Eyedropper tool works fine. Adjusting the fuzziness and other options doesn't make a difference. Nor does selecting multiple instances of a color to add to the selection. Since I use this command regularly, I feel confident that it is a bug with the update and I would love to hear of any possible fixes. Or, is it possible to downgrade back to 13.0.3? I didn't realize how much I used this and it's a major inconvenience.Â
I was using 2009 Architecture. I kept getting a message in the command line: "WARNING: Xdata tag 100 is missing" like hundred to 1000 times and while its scrolling through this same message in the command line I can not do anything but wait for it to finish. Not sure if a recent windows update has anything to do with it. I am using XP Pro. I have a Dell with 3GB of ram and a Radeon X300/X550/X1050 video card and am running dual monitors. I have an upgrade to Archtiecture 2010 so rather than reinstall 2009 I installed 2010. Unfortunately, same problem. In 2009 I seem to remember that it was more random. In 2010, it pops up when I do an xref reload.
when I use the insert command by typing I, I used to get a dialogue box in order to locate the file I wanted to insert, but now I do not get the dialogue box, I get the box with the WBLOCK command when I type W. I have ATTDIA set to 1 and changed it several times to no avail.
I turned off the command line because I don't use it or need it on my screen. Â But each time after I do a plot preview the stupid thing automatically turns itself back on.
Is there a way to permanently turn this thing off because apparently hitting the "x" on the toolbar isn't working correctly.
Also, why did they do away with the flyout option on the commandline. Â At least then I could dock it somewhere and collapse it.
No command will work from the Ribbon. I've changed workspaces and tried a backup CUI file. Is my system corrupt or is there some setting that displays the ribbon, but disables the commands within it?
2012 LT about a year old, just recently started shutting off/closing unexpectedly during a drawing command (pline, copy, offset etc...) or when using numeric keys on keyboard. seems like everything else works ok. no error messages. nothing. just dissapears.
When I create a new document in AutoCAD, I get a weird gap of space right above my command bar that either displays a duplicate of the command bar or just blank white space. It is as if the comupter does not recognize it as part of the screen. My mouse will jump over the bar and I cannot type or select anything inside it.
Controls the filling of TrueType fonts while plotting and rendering. 0 Displays text as outlines 1 Displays text as filled images
Q1) It doesn't affect the text visible on monitor? Does it? I was expecting to see the result in Print Preview or Print to PDF before plotting to paper but I couldn't. Does it mean there is something wrong or still it will be OK if I plot to paper?
Q2) It is only for TrueType fonts so it doesn't affect other fonts (what other fonts could be? because all fonts in my ACAD are TT)
I have problem with 3 users from about 75. When using the publish command inAutocad 2010 (1 user) and Civil 3d 2010 (2 users) a temporary copy of the drawing is opened while the particular layout is being published but on completion this temporary copy of the drawing is not being closed. This is leading to problems when a user has lets say 5 drawings open that require publishing. When finished the user has 2 copies of each drawing open and sometimes my select the wrong drawing when making further changes.
I have tried a repair on Autcad but that did not work.
A couple of things that seem to be missing in LR4. In all previous versions of LR, I could select non contiguous folders (or collections or a mix of the two) by holding down the Command key (using a Mac). That doesn't work in LR4. Also, when I create virtual copies (which I also do all the time), the copies lose the name of the original. They are simply name "copy 1."
I'm running AutoCAD 2012 (base version, but part of Mechanical install). Part of my .mnl file is set to run (command "cube" "off"). On one machine (Windows 7), it works fine. I'm temporarily on my laptop (Windows 8), & that portion no longer works.
If I type cube in the command line, it works fine. However, if I type (command "cube"), it says unknown command "CUBE".
I have acad 13 installed on an asus laptop.  I wanted to do some serious work last night so I plugged in the mouse to the usb port.  Doing my usual quick clicking, anytime i was "inside the dwg" like say select or pick a point on the screen, i needed a second pick to do anything.  Same with rt click for return. picking a menu item or dropdown or button works fine, "outside the dwg".
Noticed that a slow deliberate click seems to work.I reloaded the asus mouse driver, no dice.I took a 10 year logitech old mouse out, same problem. This problem does not occur using the pointing/click device built into the laptop. Is there something that is looking at the duration of my click in acad? in asus computer ?
1. I'm using CS1 and have installed my printer profile. I assume this will show me what the colors will look like when I convert the photo to the printer's color space (to do this I usually choose IMAGE - MODE -CONVERT TO PROFILE Why then when I turn on the Gamut Warning, does it show that there are colors out of gamut?
2.When I load a photo with an embedded profile and I choose the option of USE THE EMBEDDED PROFILE INSTEAD OF THE WORKING SPACE do I still need to go to PROOF SETUP and choose the printer profile to see the colors as they will look when printed? Or is this doubling-up on the conversion process. I would have thought that choosing the printer profile to proof a photo that has already been converted to the printer color space should not show any difference. Unfortunately it does, so I'm not sure which is the accurate one.
I was creating a digital scrapbook page this morning, and as I went to save, CS6 crashed without warning (as it does 50% of the time for me when I have a project I am working on). Usually, I go to save, or open a new file to work with and the whole program just shuts off on me without a word. It is simply there one second and gone the next. If I am lucky, it has recovered something of what I have done in the past 10 minutes. HOWEVER today, it crashed, and when I opened it back up, it recovered half of what I had done and immediately crashed again, giving me this error message:   Problem signature:  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH  Application Name:   Photoshop.exe  Application Version:   13.0.1.0  Application Timestamp:   5022da9d  Fault Module Name:   ntdll.dll  Fault Module Version:   6.1.7601.17725  Fault Module Timestamp:   4ec4aa8e  Exception Code:   c0000005  Exception Offset:   0000000000027b11  OS Version:   6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3  Locale ID:   1033  Additional Information 1:   9e05  Additional Information 2:   9e057b49cc84a2b32beb0976b9fa1666  Additional Information 3:   9357  Additional Information 4:   9357da59a0d0124ba1ff6db7da3265ac  Read our privacy statement online: [URL]   This is the first time I have had this happen with an error message. Usually it just closes up altogether and I have to reopen and redo my projects from wherever the last save point was. I have my recovery set to 10 minutes because I seem to lose my files so often when trying to save. This is getting a bit ridiculous and I did NOT have this problem even one time with the CS6 Beta.Â
I'm fairly new to Photoshop and I keep getting a warning box after I try to lasso a section of my picture off. The Warning says "No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visable"
I just want to know the secret to the gamut warning. I am in a Photoshop class and we are currently doing color correction. My color corrected image looks good, but my image still has a gamut warning. I know that every image is different, but what are some of the basic things ya'll do to get rid of the gamut warning? Is there any type of conversion that you can do that'll get rid of it?
with saving on Photoshop CC? Quite often it has happened to me that I will hit Command+S, but I won't see the saving bar at the bottom of the document, and if I then close the document it won't prompt me to save, but if I close the file it won't be saved.
If before I close the file I go to the File menu, the "Save" option is grayed out (as if I had just saved), but the file is not saved. If I close the file, I loose all my work
I recently opened a video in PS CS4. Ever since then I get 'pixel aspect ratio' warning and some of the images I create in PS are distorted on screen or when I tile the window and move a layer form one to the other. I can't figure out how to disable or keep this from happening.
Whenever I edit any text - be it editing an existing text layer, or with a new one, whatever text is there just randomly and without warning disappears. Doesn't matter wether I'm changing the color, font, font size or any other type settings. Sometimes I just move the mouse while in editing mode and the text just vanishes.  Made a video of the bug in action. Virtual keyboard on screen so you can see that I'm not hitting any keys to make the text disappears. Latest version of Photoshop, CC, OS X etc.
Image (Line drawing). Save for Web (*gif). Receive following warning: "Some names of the files being saved will be truncated to 31 characters for compatibility with Macintosh browsers. To change your filename compatibility options, click the Optimize pop-up menu, choose Output Settings, and select Saving Files." Â I could not find the Optimize pop-up menu. Therefore, I did not do this step. After save, I simply went to the appropriate folder and changed the file name to what I originally wanted (i.e., essentially correcting the truncation).
I used photoshop to open a JPG file and I got this warning dialog box message: ================================================ The document "xxx" has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
I happened to download a rather dark black and white entry into Photoshop and noticed it was several shades lighter in Photoshop than in my browser. It loaded in Photoshop in Grayscale mode. So I tried this:
1. Open Photoshop.
2. Set the background colour to 53 Red, 53 Green, 53 Blue.
3. Select File - New, set the Width to 800 pixels; the Height to 600 pixels; leave Resolution at 72; set Color Mode to Grayscale - 8 bit; set Background Contents to Background Color; and click OK.
4. Save as a jpeg (maximum quality).
5. Open the jpeg in your browser.
When I do this the browser image (I tried both IE and Firefox) is a shade or two darker than the Photoshop image. I used the Colorzilla extension in Firefox to measure the actual color displayed and it comes out at 37 Red, 37 Green, 37 Blue.
I just downloaded and installed PS CS4 Extended, and set to use the Trial. Okay so my problem is that whenever i open a new document and start to color in it, it displays in some triangles or well spikes. You can see a Screenshot i took. So, I tried resetting the settings, but still came up with this problem. The graphic card that im using, is Ati Radeon HD 2600 - with fully updated drivers.
