AutoCAD 2013 :: UCS Icon Settings Dialogue
Nov 18, 2013In AutoCAD 2010, the UCS Icon settings dialogue window has a 'Cone' setting for displaying coned arrows at the end point of each axis. This 'cone' setting has been removed from 2011-2014. What logical reason why this was removed and is it possible there is a hidden setting to bring it back in 2014?

Jun 21, 2013I need to twick my lisp routine (attached) to run it without asking.This lisp asks if I want to "Update" or/and "Import," while I have a source dwg. and I want to: (Update and Import).
so how to remove asking and just run the command? I need that routine to assing to a button in OpenDCL project (I think I know how to do that thogh),
AutoCAD 2010 :: Missing Migrate Custom Settings Dialogue Box
Nov 2, 2011We are curently using ACAD2011.
I installed ACAD2012 but never got the Migrate custom settings box upon opening ACAD2012 for the 1st time.
I reviewed Autodesk Help that ensured me that I could also find it thru:

Epic fail... all that showed up there was export and import autoCAD 2012 settings.
Where oh where could my migration tools box have gone? Why is it not there?
(FYI, this happened to us when we upgraded from 2010 to 2011 also but we thought we had done something wrong so we eventually just manually transferred files over. That was very time consuming and we do not want to perform that exercise again.)
AutoCad :: ProSteel Dialogue Boxes Not Remembering Previous Window Settings?
Aug 22, 2013Just the other day I switched from Windows XP, AutoCAD 2010 (with ProSteel) to Windows 7 (64bit), AutoCAD 2012 (with same version of ProSteel).
Since then I have been noticing that a specific ProSteel dialogue box (Shape/Plate Properties) always resets to it default display. Those of you familiar with ProSteel may know that the Shape/Plate Properties dialogue box has a bunch of expandable tabs/pages on the left hand side, generally speaking I would always like all of these tabs to be expanded each time I open this dialogue box. This has alway been how the 2 previous versions of ProSteel have behaved in the past, until now.
Every time I open this particular dialogue box, all the tabs/pages on the left of the dialogue box are contracted, and must be expanded if I am to access them.
Sounds like a small issue, but it is proving to have quite a large impact... with the amount of times I enter and exit this dialogue box.
Photoshop :: Image Color / Print Settings Dialogue Box CS6?
Aug 14, 2012The soft-proof of an image in CS6 gives a very good rendering based on a given paper profile for my printer. However subsequently, with proper settings in the Print Settings dialogue box, the image represented often has colors that are far from the earlier soft-proof rendering and are thoroughly inaccurate.
The image prints correctly, having no resemblance to the image appearing in the dialogue box, but coming quite close to the soft-proof simulation. Is something amiss? On a system running Mac OS 10.8.

Aug 25, 2012WIndows 7 x64 | PS CS6. Just now while attempting to edit a Channel Mixer adjustment layer's creation dialogue settings, about 15 browser windows (not tabs but individual windows) trying to load Adobe docs all popped opened simultaneously.Killed Firefox's process and went back to PS.Every time I went back to PS though, it would happen again, when I clicked in the Channel Mixer settings.
Got out of the loop by mashing the ESC button as I switched back to PS, which successfully killed the Channel Mixer dialogue.I've seen this behavior in PS for about 4 versions now, but never this severe. How dysfunctional.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Auto Stack Dialogue Box
Jun 5, 2013AutoCAD insists on stacking fractions. I've tried everything I can think of to get the Auto Stack dialogue box to come up, but sometime I must have checked the "do not show me this again" box. I can't figure out how to reset the default to horizontal fractions.

Nov 22, 2013is it possible to Zoom and Pan whilst I have a title box open.
I work for a company that has installed its own toolbar and and attribute box's to be filled out.
My issue is that I need to zoom into various parts of the drawing to be able to fill out all the boxes.
Currently I have to close the dialogue box down every time I want to move the drawing to a specific are.
If there was a command or setting that I could use to be able to keep the box open and move the drawing at the same time that would be great.

Mar 5, 2012I am editing an existing block to change the lineweight and have tried using the REFEDIT command as well as double clicking the block to take me into the block editor and making my changes there. I am sucessfully able to edit my block and make the changes using both of these methods. Where I am running into an issue is that the block I have edited only retains its new settings within the drawing that I changed it in. If I insert that same block into a new drawing I have to re-edit the block again the make the changes that I want. Why are my blocks not retaining their settings from drawing to drawing.

AutoCAD 2013 :: MEP 2013 Not Saving Profile Nor Workspace Settings
Aug 15, 2013Just upgraded a user to Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2013 but AutoCad 2013 and AutoCad MEP 2013 are not saving settings.
On first use the crosshair is large and angled, not standard. If I run "Rest values to default" then the settings are standard until I either restart AutoCAD or open a drawing then have the same strange cross hair.
Have tried creating a new profile, setting it as default startup profile by altering the shortcut but no matter what settings are not saved and revert to strange cross hair once AutoCAD is re-opened or a drawing is opening.If logon to computer as a user without a roaming profile all works fine.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Copy Settings And Toolbars From 2013 To 2014?
Dec 20, 2013Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

May 17, 2013I want to print out several layouts as a batch. when i do this to a printer to obtain paper copies it works out ok, however when i do it to a PDF format it chops the top of the drawing off which is most annoying as i often end up having to do each drawing individually to a pdf.

Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. I work with a land surveying package. I use both AutoCAD 2006 and R14. When I export a cad dwg from the survey software and open it in R14 my drawing units are as I want them E.G Direction Control = North = 270 and should be set to clockwise. If I open the same exported drawing but in 2006 the settings change. If I create a new drawing in 2006, the settings are as I want them.

Apr 17, 2013I have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?

Nov 21, 2013I recently added 2 monitors to my set up to bring my total to 3. I am trying to figure out the best way to work on one drawing, with 2 differant veiws on each of the 2 main screens.
I would like my main screen to have the plan view and the second monitor to have an isometric veiw (or whatever I need at the time) of the same drawing. Is there a way to have the same drawing opened up in another window, in one session of Autocad 2013. One on the main screen and one on the secondary.

Nov 14, 2012As many of us seam to do the option to save by default to an older version of AutoCAD or universal DXF format is selected, my problem is however when you save an existing drawing a prompt appears asking if 'Drawing*.dxf last saved in AutoCAD 2004 format. Save in AutoCAD 2013 Drawing format?' this has annoyed me for years!
I have set it as default DXF 2014 for a good reason I don’t want a prompt asking me if I want to then save it as 2013 or I would have set it like that on my default setting, gets on your nerves when you are doing 100's of files.
