View 5 RepliesWhy am i seeing all black when i rendered my southwest or southeast view, without setting up a camera. But other ppl of my peeps r seeing in colour and materails. Also, my other problem is when i put on realistic view, i m seeing grey-ish blocks instead of "real" materials. In my previous assignment, I did see the "Real" materials when i set it on realistic view. However i did try to reset to default for my realistic veiw, but still it did not seem to be working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've been using ray the realistic view with ray tracing enabled for a while now for quick renders, but I recently had to reinstall Windows and now it wont work. I've installed all of my drivers and everything is up to date, but when I click on ray tracing it starts to do it for a couple of seconds then just disables. After that first try whenever I click the button it simply wont enable.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Inventor Professional 2014.
The problem I encounter is that Inventor crashes sometimes when I turn the realistic view mode on.
Also the rendering in realistic view mode is much slower than with Inventor 2013.
Are there some ray tracing options that I need to set up?
I have found a 3D drawing on the internet. But i want to print it in a realistic view from the top. This is the place where i have found it :
Site
like you see on the site ,an example of the 3d cad drawing
in realistic colors,shadows, ... :
10-22022012-089645L.gif
but when i download the 3d autocad file i open it , and i can only print in this view:
3d cad print.jpg
no realistic view,
now is my question, is it possible to download the drawing from the site ,and print it in a realistic view ?
is it possible to render an animation in realistic view with Raytracing switched on?
In the view i have a realistic view, but when i do "render animation" the pictures are rendered without Raytrace.
I'm using the Ditch subassembly in my corridor and am running into a problem when using realistic mode to view.
I've applied a render material to L3, L2 and L4 which is fine but when I assign a material to L1-L5 (i.e Top) it overdraws (or otherwise fails to display) the previously assigned materials for L2, L3 and L4.
If I set the Links L1-L5 (i.e. Top) to no display then L2, L3 and L4 display as expected but when IMX'd to Infraworks the existing terrain shows through at Links L1 and L5.
Is it possible to stop this from happening and have a seperate material for L1 and L5 whilst retaining L2,L3 & L5 materials?

I have been designing a school project for the last 2 months using the student version of inventor 2014. The realistic views have been working the whole time before but now it is not working. I click on it, and it just switches back to shaded view. If I click on shadows, or reflections I get the following message.
"One or more visual effects in use are not supported by the current system graphics hardware. We strongly recommend running the Diagnostics check in applications option for detailed information.Would you like to run hardware Diagnostics now?"
After selecting Yes I get the following,The graphics driver is fully certified.

I imported trees using Civil View which are images projected on planes. I was wondering if its possible to get the shadows more realistic? It currently displays the plane shadows which are 2 planes crossed in the shape of an "X". I also noticed on others' systems their tree objects are more 3d and not images draped on planes. Is this due to graphics card?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made an exploded view and placed it an a drawing. View 4 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if there are some ways in converting a highly realistic rendering of an object generated in a 3D program into a more illustrative, simplified, alittle less realistic version in Photoshop?
The object has plenty of silver reflections, HDRI environment map reflections, precise shadows and highlights, etc. I just want to make it look more generic and not as polished I guess.
Are there filters or plugins that will do this in a plug in play method or is it more prodedural and manual?
I would like to have dimensions on a particular view based on selected lines and curves.
How to get the line and curve's start point and end point for me to use in dimensioning either linear or baseline?
inventor 2012. for instance for a aux. view if it is not in-line with the parent view it puts a section line. is there a way to have a single view arrow?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using 2013 and have a few 3D objects in the modeling space that I am using view base to put different views of each into the paper space. When I do this and export to PDF, I get an extra green line from the paper space. I have deleted and replaced the view and have tried different views with varying sucess.
Some pieces simply need a different view, however I have one that will not go away. The different view does really solve the problem either because I need the view with the problem. I have attached a picture of the issue, but it is just a chunk to protect information that I cannot share. The gray in the drawing is the part, the green line should not be there. The green line only shows up on the PDF, not in modeling space or paper space.
Is it possible to show hidden lines in one part of a .idw view while the rest of the view does not show hidden lines? In the attached image I want to show the pull handle and towel bar through the glass in the door. The only way I know how to show this currently is to turn off the visibility on the glass.

I have several cropped views in an Inventor 2013 drawing. I was wondering if Inventor could auto add a cut line to the cropped edge of objects when creating these views or alternatively if I would have to manually add a cut line through the symbols library ?

Now in my idw for this part I want to secure the break lines on the part at a exact distance from the end / each other to display these fabs. Is there a way to parameterize or set the break lines so they adapt to the change in length and move accordingly?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've been creating a building and I can't seem to get rid of (or hide) the lines that make up the edges of my surfaces (or solid) in the animation view. Is this typical?
For instance, I have one side of the building that is using 4 different textures all on the same plane and they butt up to one another (example: brick meets siding). Where these two surfaces meet the lines that makes up the edges of the surface won't go away. Thus always showing white line showing the boundaries o the individual surfaces.
Can I turn these off, hide them, or am I being a total 3D Modeling noob and missing something basic?
Im having an issue where the horizontal grid lines in my profile are projecting out past my last specified station (see attached) My profile begins at sta: 1+00 and ends at 1+12. My user specified station range is sta: 0+80 to 1+30. I didn't have this issue in release 11 (im currently using release 12) with this profile view style and i did hundreds of profiles with this very same style.

i've got this snowboard rack that i need to layout/markup with some #8 machine screw holes (with countersink for tapered wood screw head) - two on the end of each stretcher to fasten them to the uprights - 8 in total. I also want to layout 8 more holes on the stretchers themselves. I've got some center holes marked in the sketches..but they're not visible when i activate the hole feature so i can properly place the holes?
why i can't extrude the 4 spacers i've got sketched on the back of the stretchers into a solid . . . . i can only cut?
Attached shows lines (Parts) are intersecting each other in drafting mode. I have tried all but I am not able to resolve this issue.

View 3 Replies View Relatedrecommend a good way to indicate the location of cross section sample lines in a profile view (of same alignment) as vertical lines? the sample lines have been created at user defined locations from polylines, and do not follow a particular station order. my first thought was to use transparent command to draw line in profile view using station from plan view, but i have in excess of 100 cross sections, and that may be time consuming.

Detail lines have global view settings - you cannot change appearance with a View Template. The Detail Items V/G category doesnt seem to include detail lines.
It is often necessary to use detail lines to avoid the chore of mading up a family to represent simple objects in plan or section - eg complex fixed furnishings like counters and shelves. Then when it comes to doing a schematic electrical layout where I want everything greyed out except the electrical content, I can use V/G overrides on all family content but not the linework. I have to pick all this invidually and then Override Graphics in View.
As with V/G template overrides, I dont want these overrides to permeate globally hence not changing line styles.
I'm drawing ref lines in south view and thats no problem, and works fine, but when I change to East view, the problems start to increase, once I draw a ref line, the line is not visible, and I get a "warning" that says: "None of the created elements are visible in Elevation: East View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings."
What's that all about? I can't seem to get the line to show no matter what I do.
