AutoCAD Inventor :: Make A Concave Rack
Jun 3, 2013I need to make a rack for a machine I am designing. We use a variation of this now but I need to change the rack we have always used. The rack is on a radius and the teeth are on the inside of said radius. I plan on using the same tooth profile that we are currently using but i was wondering if there was an easy way to pattern this.

Feb 11, 2013I'm modelling a pen, the problem is that its bottom is not flat, it is a section of a sphere, that goes inside the pen, I've tried soft selection, relax, but I can't make the shape, I could use booleans to cut the sphere out of the model, but I' avoiding booleans because they destroy the topology.

AutoCAD LT :: REVCLOUD Is Finishing As Concave
Sep 15, 2011About 40% of the time, the REVCLOUD command will finish the cloud as concave. It will start correctly and be correct the entire time I am surrounding an area on my drawing and then when the last arc joins the starting point the entire cloud become inverted. Why? Is there something I can do to make it not do this? I don't seem to have any control over how it finishes. When it completes backwards, I fix it using PEDIT > Decurve then I convert the Polyline into a cloud and it appears correctly. Is there a better way?

Feb 21, 2013I am creating an upper cabinet which has a fixed height but you can select different widths. What our firm does is also list the size of the cabinet. What I would like to do is make this font some sort of preset attribute and control it with the visibility states. I also want to control the font height by the scale of the drawing. my question is I if its possible and how? I've attached what I have thus far. The attribute is in teh top right corner and is justified as top right. The only way I can get this to work is if I manually adjust the font after its inserted into the drawing.

Dec 22, 2012I am working on a project and figuring out a way to fill a concave space I have with a seperate solid that takes up the exact amount of space. I would like for this new solid to be its own part. I will post a picture so you can understand what I am reffering to. As you can see, there is a concave space in the middle of the design; what I am looking to do is fill this area with a type of foam, so I need to model something that fills all the spaces up to the top plane.
I have tried using the thicken/offset tool but it gives me errors on vertexs and such and I have tried many different selection variants. I did get the space to fill in but then ran into the problem of it being all one solid, not something I could take out and make a different part, which is what I am looking to do.

Sep 22, 2011My problem is we need to have the lettering on the concave side of the sign. How would I make the flat lettering I have in the elevation shot follow the curve of the sign in the plan view?
I usually do most of my autocad drawing in 2d, I've done a few things in 3d but I'm not that experienced. I say that because I was thinking maybe I could make a 3d model of the flat elevation shot and bend it into radius I need.

May 6, 2011I bought Corel X5 to design some 2D templates to cut wood in creating cabinets for a Volkswagon Bus Camper. An old VW Bus doesn't have a straight surface in it.
My objective is to take measurements inside the bus for each piece of the cabinet. Think of the inside roof for example... the mission is to create the front of a cabinet that goes from one side of the bus to the other. Thus, a straight line on the bottom and then an arc for the top of cabinet so that it will meet perfectly with the inside roof.
What is needed is to enter x,z coordinates into Corel Draw to define the shape, then plot the result on paper, verify by holding the paper to the actual roof, and then cut the wood using the paper template.I can see that a B-spline is needed, but I don't see how to enter the periodic x,z measurements in Corel to come up with the shape.
Revit :: How To Create Section That Is Inside The Cabinet
Jan 17, 2013I created a kitchen counter in Revit 2011 however, when I try to create a section it does not show what a section should show such as the shelves that are inside the cabinet. It just basically shows what an elevation would show. I checked all my settings and everything is good. What could be the problem? I created another family as well and when I do a section it shows what should be seen in a section. The same thing happens when I put the counter into a project. The section does not show correctly as well as the wireframe visual style does not show in plan view. It show as if it were in hidden line.

Oct 20, 2011I am trying to create an Island family with cabinet components nested into the island family. I have included both a 3D view of what I want the island to look like and a floor plan of what I have right now. I want to be able to adjust the size of each of these cabinets with a parameter. But I am not sure how to get them to stay lined up like they are right now.
If I change the size to a larger size the center cabinet overlaps the cabinet on the right. but if I add another reference plane to the right side of the center cabinet, when I try to adjust the size I get an error message saying "Constraints are not satisfied".

Best technique to model the round foot with the concave design that seems to wrap around the foot (Highlighted area). Nov 8, 2012I work with a drawing that for some reason don't have a proper fence line in it. I tried to load another .lin file, but still the fence line looks funny. The line I'm after looks and work ok in alla other files but this one!
I tried to copy paste a fence line from another drawing but what's pasted is just half the linetype...

Why do I loose the slashes?
