i dont know what i am doing wrong working on 3D..There are not too many objects. One layer only. i have some blocks and for combining some objects i used union..i applied different materials, Sun properties etc it doesn't take time to render but to edit or even a single click on objects make them very slow..i saw the file size, it was 550MB..i purged them and used overkill command so it reduced to 450MB now..

There are 3 meters long 5 fence panels and there i worked on details of the ornaments and put materials on them.. There is a solid base with an image and i am using sun properties with lights etc...
I cannot render the file as it gives me an error.. i am not able to work on the file now as it is gigantic size..
I am using autocad 2014 and my pc specs are..

6GB Ram
64MB VGA
What I am doing wrong making 3D objects? Would it reduce the size if i union all the objects or make blocks ?
I've been working on 3D models and noticed when i take a circle and extrude it along a path (usually a spline) it adds a lot to a file size. The objects are used as electrical conductors on power poles. After a few city blocks of this the model file size becomes basically unusable.
So my question is why does extruding a circle along a curved path increase the file size so drastically and is there another alternative to keep the file size down?
I'm working in VSX4. I've created a couple of small movies which I want to compile onto a single dvd. The video files from both movies combined only amount to about 3.2 GB, yet when I try to "share" and make the dvd with both of my vsp files, it adds up to be a total of over 7 GB. Is it normal to have this much "inflation" on a project? I've not done anything special as far as graphics or fancy menus or even chapter markers. It's just a handful of clips with the "crossfade" transition applied. And that's it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm laying out some big panels containing smaller images, so I am adding these using 'File>Place'. However, while the empty panel takes up about 70 MB, placing 3MB worth of smaller images makes the file size explode to a whopping 150MB, making it impossible to fill up the entire board. So far, I've seen file sizes of 500 MB, with Photoshop eating up 50GB swap files. what is going on here?

But when using a nested smart object (meaning a smart object within a smart object) Photoshop CS5 doesn't display the correct file size (at bottom left) or seem to account for the nested smart object file size. Is there a "setting" I’m missing to accurately display what the true file size is?
The Problem: Using multiple nested smart objects that I have reduced the size of my image to be 260x200 for web export. Photoshop CS5 won't let me save a file that appears to be only 3mbs claiming it's over 2 gig's. See image below.
Really not sure what to do about this, the company I work for makes lots of changes so using smart objects is necessary for my work flow. But also seems to be slowing me down trying to figure out issues like this and is problematic when it comes to saving all the work I have been doing.
I am very much new to AutoCad, but have learned quite a bit about it in the last few days. As a part of the learning I have been building a 3D model of the shed my dad is building. But I ran into a problem on the roof and cant seem to figure out how to click everything into place.
My problem: I need to keep the size and shape of all objects while also connecting the objects to the main structure. I need to keep A and B connected to the main structure and adjust the angles so that both meet at C. But if I move one then another moves out of place. (In the pic B is out of place) All I want to do is hold the beams at A and B in their spot while adjusting the rotation on both beams to meet at C all at the same time. I have tried to fine adjust the rotation on the beams individually but still cant get them together. I cant seem to get the constraints feature to work, because I guess it only works in 2D. I have tried to use the align tool but it just throws everything haywire.
I want to make a logo for a one page flier and my website.
Is it best to set the size of the logo in Photoshop before I create it, or should I make it in Photoshop then reduce the size of the file as required?
When an object in an XRef is tagged (and the object has an object based PSD) the tag will not update to reflect changes made in the XRef.
This can be fixed in the XRef by running the PropertyDataBrowser command and unticking the Overrides (shown in the leftmost tickbox when two tick boxes present).
Any automatic way to keep the tags up to date? I have attached my VB.Net code attempt for this. It almost works BUT the MultiViewBlock Overrides are ReadOnly.
How to force objects to move together without making them a block or a group? Never used the anchor command but it doesn’t' seem to "like" my objects either.
Specifically, I have a dynamic block I need to move with a table and not move from the cell it is placed above.
I have created a farm map in AutoCAD 2008. I want to have a sign made with this image on it with dimensions 775mm x 1096mm. I saved this image as an eps file of size A4 and sent it to the sign maker. The sign maker got back to me and told me that when he blew this image up it was blurry and could I please save it at its actual size.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to save this image at this size.
I dabble around with Photoshop CS2 and I was just wondering if there are any techniques or tricks to make a dry object appear wet/moist.

I have tried a bunch of different ways that I have read from these forums but none of them seem to work. Obviously I'm missing something. The green shield logo is made of multiple objects. The closest I got was the arc shape cut out from some of the objects of the green logo, but not all of them, and the arc shape didn't cut out as an arc, but rather as the original rectangle. The arc is created with a regular rectangle with arc effect.

Is there any way to scale them all without making them move along the axis being scaled? (I should have made them instances of each other. While making selection by drawing a selection window, the objects often get seelected and get dragged. These objects lie on the starting vertex of the selection window. Therefore I have to find the desired bjects to be selected in object manager lying in haphazard order. Is there a way , the objects don’t get dragged while making a selection window from left to right. That means, the objects get selected which are present in the selection window only.

I am trying to make a collage which will be printed(=300 DPI) on A3(420 × 297 mm) sized paper. The images I want to take elements from for my collage are all different in size and DPI. When these elements come together they should be similar in size in order to create a new believable scene. 1 element can't be absurdly large in relation to another.
So what I did for my first image (size of 3456 × 2304 pixels, a print-size of 1219,20 × 812,80 mm and DPI 72 × 72) was increase the DPI to 600 in order to obtain a smaller printsize - reducing it to 146,30 × 97,54 mm - cut-out the elements I need and import them into my A3 document. This gave me the size I need for my elements.
However when I try to take elements out of the second image (size of 1500 × 1125 pixels, a print-size of 211,67 × 158,75 mm and DPI 180 × 180) - which I leave unchanged because 211,67 × 158,75 mm is about the size I need for the elements - and place them into the A3 document they are too small. Same story for the third image (size of 2400 × 1600 pixels, a print-size of 304,80 × 203,20 mm and DPI 200 × 200)
I tried to make an image that, when printed, would take up the entire sheet of paper (having removed the margins in the printing properties), but I seem to have failed.
I made the image 8.5 x 11 inches, but when I printed a test at that size it came out too small... is there a % bigger that I need to make the image to fit, or did I go wrong somewhere else?
trying to make an object the exact size of the artboard. This is something I do on a daily basis for several different reasons and it would be very useful if this can happen automatically for whatever size the artboard may be. As I understand it the only way is with a script but I have no experience with making illustrator scripts, im definately no programmer. I have set up quickkeys in the past to copy from the artboard inputs when you are on the artboard tool but these round to the nearest .01 and this is not accurate enough for what I am working with. Also if I do this with multiple pages open illustrator is very slow to respond to the artboard tool.
Below is a script that I saw on here that I believe may contain what I need but now knowing programming. Where to start on editing. All I need is the part where an object is placed on the artboard that is the exact same size as the artboard.

I have an image that is 1600 px wide and I want to trim the sides to 1260. When I start to even type in the smaller size, the file size indicated is larger (that was my first suspicion that something was not right). And sure enough, it is making the image larger?
I created my custom Sheet Set with my desired Sheet Set properties. I named it "wizengr.dst". Who knows how I can make this DST file the default so that the "Creat Sheet" wizard and "Create Section Sheet" dialog box will automatically use it to create a sheet set during sheet creation process.

Why did Lightroom decrease the file size to more than half the original size? Is there a way to increase the exportation file size to that I may develop a large size print?
