I created my custom Sheet Set with my desired Sheet Set properties. I named it "wizengr.dst". Who knows how I can make this DST file the default so that the "Creat Sheet" wizard and "Create Section Sheet" dialog box will automatically use it to create a sheet set during sheet creation process.

There are 3 meters long 5 fence panels and there i worked on details of the ornaments and put materials on them.. There is a solid base with an image and i am using sun properties with lights etc...
I cannot render the file as it gives me an error.. i am not able to work on the file now as it is gigantic size..

What I am doing wrong making 3D objects? Would it reduce the size if i union all the objects or make blocks ?
We installed C3d 2012 a few months ago. When importing or exporting point I need to select the point file format each time. In previous versions, since we almost always use the same format, once you selected the format and imported/exported points it was selected by default the next time you imported/exported point. Since switching to C3d 2012 we have has issues of wrong format being selected for export (probably import also, but those are probably caught by the user themself).
I have tried creating a new format starting the name with an underscore as we do with the most common styles so that it would be listed at the top of the list. This did not work. It seem to me that the only solution is to delete all other formats to insure the correct format is seclcted. This will cause a problem on those occassions when another format is required.
I am going through my viewports properties, changing the annotation scales that for some reason are different to the viewport scales (why you would want a different annotation scale i dont know)
When i make a viewport, with a certain scale, i can have it that the annotation scale automatically is the same as the veiwport scale?
This has been a feature in CorelDraw for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping that buried in options or customize it can be changed.
When you draw a curved line, the nodes default to Symmetrical rather than Smooth. Symmetrical nodes adjust both sides of the curve when you move the node selection handles which I rarely use. Smooth allows you to adjust once side of the node without effecting the other but still maintaining an in line alignment.
if you can make nodes on a curve default to Smooth rather than Symmetrical?
I'm trying to update a part with different colors for various features. My color styles are not available in this file. I can export them from another file, then use the import function to bring it over, but there has to be a way to force this file to find the entire "default" color file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA fellow co-worker accidentally checked the box that says "don't open this file" (or something like that) that appears when a language file is missing upon opening a file from a client. He then also "accidentally" clicked the "perform this action every time" so as the warning window wouldn't appear any more. As a consequence there are now files that we cannot open on that computer. I've searched through system variable lists and come up empty handed.....

To select it I have to click and hold on the eyedropper (from the toolbox menu on the left) which brings up a drop down where I can select the measure tool. After i edit an image and save it, and go to the next image it reverts back to the eyedropper, is there I was where I can have the measure tool "on top" in that menu?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got a surface that I want to be semi-tranparent, it seems the only practical solution at the moment is to eXplode it so that layer transparency will affect it. Which is fine, I guess, for the time being (well actually it's not but we don't have much choice with 2013 do we?).
Putting that aside, my issue now is that every time I hover over the exploded block, it does a selection 'preview' which is distracting to say the least. So I want this exploded surface to be unselectable. Is there a way? If I lock the layer, it dims it, which I don't want. If I freeze the layer the exploded surface just disappears.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have text from dt command, circle and leader line. After selecting them I use the copy command and starte pasting all over my drawing. Probable about 6 copies. about 3 or 4 of them end up not being able to select them. So if i want to edit the text, move all three entities or just delete them i cant. I figured out the only way to delete these "unselectable" objects i copied is to only have that layer on, type selectall and delete. Why this happens and why if i did 6 pastes it only happens to 3 or 4 of them? does it have to do with feature lines? I do have 3d lines in this dwg but i should still be able to select what i copied.

I have done this before but I cannot remember how. An example of what I am trying to say is in the Drawing1 that opens when you start CAD, it does not have a layer called TOPO. I want to have it so that everytime I have a new drawing1 open, it automatically has the TOPO layer in it. I know that you can do this by changing the file it references in the C drive, but I forgot how I did it.
I am using Map 3D 2010/Civil 3D2010/AutoCad 2010. Is there a way to change the default settings in the Map Import dialog box? I want to "Create Object Data" and "Import Polygons as Closed Polylines" with every shp file I import. When creating points manually, I want them to automatically go into a certain/current point group, but since I don't know the point range prior to creating the points, I am having to continuously update the "include" points catergory. I can set the default/current layer, default point style, etc, can I do the same with point group? I understand about the "all points" group and the description keys that can be utilized in the other individual point groups to group information , but Is there a better way? Under the point creation toolbar, there is a point group template, but when I create a point group thru there, it doesn't do anything but create the point group. None of the newly created points go into that group.... what is the point of that option?

I am trying to stick with one program(Autocad) and not use Softree, but when someone graphically represents something in Softree it looks way more professional than the profiles and cross sections I am creating in autocad. Is there any way to make these graphs look more professional other than tweaking in Edit View Style?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to find the best/most efficient way to make a pavement grade plan for my current project. The only two ways that I know of are:
1) Home Tab->points->Create Points-Alignments->Measure Alignment then select my mainline alignment, enter a profile, enter an offset to create the points. Then assigned elevations of the points to my "pavement" surface.
2) Make lines perpendicular to your alignment (I used sample lines, exploded them to a block reference)->Make a feature line and snap at each 25' segment->Assigned elevations of the feature line to my "pavement" surface->used custom line and curve labels to label start segment z value.
My issue with option 1) is on my project there are multiple curves and I don't know of anyway that I can have the labels follow my alignment. I think the way the alignment labels work is if I would edit the label I would have to manually edit the angle and with multiple curves I don't think this would work the best.
My issue with option 2) is my project is roughly 1.75 miles long with 8 lanes and 12' shoulders, I would have to make roughly 4000 elevation points on my feature lines.
In R2013, the default file naming convention for plotting to a file (jpg, pdf, etc) was [your dwg's filename].pdf
Since R2013 SP1 (including R2014, which I've just moved onto), it has changed to [your dwg's filename] [name of the sheet you're plotting].pdf - as in "DSMC-AS-L Model(1).pdf" instead of "DSMC-AS-L.pdf"
I don't like that at all. Having to manually change it every time is pretty obnoxious.
Is there an way to change this?
Spare default metric .dwt file? I deleted mine thinking that I'll never use them and lo and behold, I need it.

I am trying to change some default layer settings. I go to: Toolspace -> Settings tab -> Right click the drawing name -> Edit drawing settings -> Object layers tab. There I can set the default layers that objects are created on. I want to set "General Note Label" and "General Segment Label" to be created on what ever layer is current.
When bringing in some figures that don't match the figure prefix database in a drawing with a set default style for figures (settings tab>survey>edit feature settings) it is being ignored and the "standard" style is being created and used. Is there another setting?

I am trying to change the default setting for "Pipe Flow Direction Method" currently it is set to "start to end" but I would like it to be "by slope". I have to assume there is a way to do this, I have tried everything i can think of.
Also need definitions of the "Pipe Flow Direction Method" options.I am currently using Civil 3D 2012, but will soon be moving onto 2014
