Since transferring licence to new computer I am no longer offered the default file name of "Drawing title" - "Layout name" when plotting to PDF (Standard DWG to PDF.pc3). Is there a way to restore this?
View 1 RepliesA fellow co-worker accidentally checked the box that says "don't open this file" (or something like that) that appears when a language file is missing upon opening a file from a client. He then also "accidentally" clicked the "perform this action every time" so as the warning window wouldn't appear any more. As a consequence there are now files that we cannot open on that computer. I've searched through system variable lists and come up empty handed.....

We have some users with 3rd party programs that won't run in 2010 yet so we will have a few people still running 2007 and 2008. I want to set the default File Save As in my script to 2007 format but I can't seem to find a variable to modify this.
In case I wasn't clear this is the setting found in Options, under the Open and Save tab, in the File Save section.
When you start autocad for the first time, it creates a profile with the default support file search paths. Where does AutoCAD get this from?
I want to use this for a tool I am creating.
I'm trying to update a part with different colors for various features. My color styles are not available in this file. I can export them from another file, then use the import function to bring it over, but there has to be a way to force this file to find the entire "default" color file.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing AutoCAD 2011 we always use 0.00 as our default line weight but the default will change to 0.010 with no real pattern. It can be any drawing at any time. We have reset this dozens of times without being able to stop it from reoccurring.
We are also not able to get line weight to display (yes we check the Lineweight Settings, Display lineweight box) again on random drawings at random times.
I just updated my computer and reloaded my Autocad lt 2011 onto my new computer. I went from windows XP to Windows 8. Anyway when I go to the hatch command and try to set the hatch scale it won't take the scale and defaults back to 1 or 1". Is there a setting I need to address? I never had this problem in my old computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have attributes automatically update? For example, we often "save block as" from block editor to create a new block. We usually have block name on defpoints layer so designers can see block name on screen.
We now have to edit this text each time new block is created from existing block. If default value of attribute could be the block name it would save time and errors.
How do I set the default text style? there must be a global setting in Options or something similar, I know I can set in a Template, but is there a global setting somewhere?
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time that I open a new drawing which has clipped XRefs, the X clip frame is set to the number 2, and I set it back to number "0", but then when I finish that drawing and open another drawing, then the new drawing reverts back to X clip frame 2.
How or where I can change the setting to the default is always "0"?

so if the attribute has data it puts it in, but if it does not it just uses these dashed lines and I cannot seem to remove them. I don't want to make them invisible and don't particularly want to have to use code, but I have never come across this before .

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to install autocad 2010 civil 3D, I cannot get past the initial select products to install page without getting a bunch of errors as detailed below:
Error 1327. Invalid Drive C:
Then;
Fatal error during installation.
#7560: failed to run AdskExecuteSequence
and finally;
Failed to initialise AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010
This is because when I installed windows, it assigned the letter H to the system drive (where Windows is installed) and as a result, there is no C drive in the system.
This has not been an issue for any programs installed to date, but is causing me grief when trying to install AutoCAD Civil 3D. 2010
Any way of changing the autocad code or settings around so that it will install to the H drive (or I can decide where it should install)?

I have some foreign drawings the block definition of "_ArchTick" has been changed to get a thicker tick in drawing's dimension. When I have new dimestyle and copy paste into the foreign drawings, it always use the drawing's block setting of "_ArchTick".
How I can paste a new dimstyle and bring in the block of "_ArchTick" to overwrite the one in current drawing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change the dafault varible for the mirror command from no to yes. whne you do the mirror command after you choose your second point it asks if you want to erase the source object and the default is set to no but I would like to change it to yes. I'm able to change the macro for the mirror button which works but only when I push the button. Before the cui file I remember everything was done from the acad.pgp or the acad.mnu files but with the new CUI file i can't seem to locate wher to change the actual command and not just the macro for the mirror button.

At the moment the font used is isocpeur and I would like it to be Romans.
I need to modify the page setup of multple drawings and have it save that way so everytime I open the drawing the chosen page setup is selected.
I'm aware of being able to set multiple page setups in the publish screen, but that isnt a permenant change to the drawings themselves, and not what I'm looking for.
How to set default to stack diagonally? It used to work automatically, but somehow it turn off so that every fraction I write needs to be highlighted and then converted by pressing the a/b button.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn R2013, the default file naming convention for plotting to a file (jpg, pdf, etc) was [your dwg's filename].pdf
Since R2013 SP1 (including R2014, which I've just moved onto), it has changed to [your dwg's filename] [name of the sheet you're plotting].pdf - as in "DSMC-AS-L Model(1).pdf" instead of "DSMC-AS-L.pdf"
I don't like that at all. Having to manually change it every time is pretty obnoxious.
Is there an way to change this?
