Using AutoCAD 2011 we always use 0.00 as our default line weight but the default will change to 0.010 with no real pattern. It can be any drawing at any time. We have reset this dozens of times without being able to stop it from reoccurring.
We are also not able to get line weight to display (yes we check the Lineweight Settings, Display lineweight box) again on random drawings at random times.
How to add and delete a “lineweight” from the lineweight list?
I’m wondering if there is a way to add and delete lineweight from the lineweight list?

Im trying to print a logo for my detachment using Autocad to PDF but for one the line dont show up in the PDF file and second the original color of the drawing is faded. Black goes to a smoke grey color, lines dont show up, and the red is blurry. I need this to be fixed but I just dont have the skill to do it. And stupid autocad doesnt have a contact number for step by step instructions with an actual human! I have underlayed a DWF drawing in AutoCAD and I'm looking for a way to manage the the lineweight while printing.
I have try many settings but the lines from the DWF come out very thin, probably the thiner that AutoCAD is able to provide.
Is there a way to set the “lineweight” to be Color-based automatically?
I’m wondering if there is a way to set the lineweight to be color-based such that all the objects have the same color will take the same lineweight automatically.
Sure, we can control such behavior through the “bylayer” feature but I’m not sure if this very particular behavior might exist in the AutoCAD; color-based lineweigth!

I have an xref in my drawing. I am trying to use a VP override to make a layer plot with a lighter lineweight. I have changed the layer to number 9 (set to plot light) in the viewport and the layer changes color. When plotting the layer does not plot with the correct lineweight. The object color on the layer is set to bylayer. Visretain is set to "1" What is wrong? Why isn't the layer plotting correctly?

Anyway when I go to the hatch command and try to set the hatch scale it won't take the scale and defaults back to 1 or 1". Is there a setting I need to address? We now have to edit this text each time new block is created from existing block. If default value of attribute could be the block name it would save time and errors.

so if the attribute has data it puts it in, but if it does not it just uses these dashed lines and I cannot seem to remove them. I don't want to make them invisible and don't particularly want to have to use code, but I have never come across this before .

We are getting ready to deploy 2010 and I am writing a script to set some of the system variables on all the installs.
We have some users with 3rd party programs that won't run in 2010 yet so we will have a few people still running 2007 and 2008. I want to set the default File Save As in my script to 2007 format but I can't seem to find a variable to modify this.
In case I wasn't clear this is the setting found in Options, under the Open and Save tab, in the File Save section.
How do I keep the tool palette from going back to the default after I set it up?

Error 1327. Invalid Drive C:
Then;
Fatal error during installation.
#7560: failed to run AdskExecuteSequence
and finally;
Failed to initialise AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010
This is because when I installed windows, it assigned the letter H to the system drive (where Windows is installed) and as a result, there is no C drive in the system.
This has not been an issue for any programs installed to date, but is causing me grief when trying to install AutoCAD Civil 3D. 2010
Any way of changing the autocad code or settings around so that it will install to the H drive (or I can decide where it should install)?

1. background mask = Yes

I have some foreign drawings the block definition of "_ArchTick" has been changed to get a thicker tick in drawing's dimension. When I have new dimestyle and copy paste into the foreign drawings, it always use the drawing's block setting of "_ArchTick".
How I can paste a new dimstyle and bring in the block of "_ArchTick" to overwrite the one in current drawing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to embolden lineweights to stand out on the drawing, without them getting in the way when viewing in the drawing. I have set the lineweight in the layer dialogue box to the max size (2.xx mm), checked the "plot lineweights" in the printer dialogue and switched between none and grayscale (this is so the assigned colors will fade out in the background). Nothing I have tried thus far has changed the print output on any of my printers (virtual PDF, HP2100, HP2600n, HP2840 they are all very old). I have read through the lweight command and help sections, but I don't need it assigning the lw just getting it to properly print.
One possible problem: is the line weight relative to scale or is it absolute? I am printing at 1/8" scale, and that can't change.
I already change the lineweight on the properties but nothing happens to the line. What's the matter?
