Jul 27, 2012I would like to get a dwg file of the metric sheets, A0, A1, A2, A3, A4. I have seen these in the past, as a template in autocad but can't find them in AutoCAD2012. I need them with titleblock intact as I need to copy their format, and I would find it easier to just rearrange an existing sheet. I need the A4 as soon as possible.

The drawing was originally drawn in metric at 1:200. However, I am working in an imperial file with many other drawings in it as well. How can I scale this drawing up to the right scale in imperial in model space?

I mean, I start a drawing using the imperial template, but i want to use the standard metric scales on paper space. on previous versions the scale list shown both imperial & metric. Jul 12, 2012To convert from imperial to metric multiply the length, in inches, by 25.4 (the number of millimeters per inch).
Example: 3 inches converted to millimeters is 3*25.4 or 76.2mm.
To convert from metric to imperial multiply the length, in millimeters, by 0.03937 (the number of inches in a millimeter). For greater accuracy use 0.03937008.
Example: 100 millimeters converted to inches is 100*0.03937 or 3.937 inches.

I can export them from another file, then use the import function to bring it over, but there has to be a way to force this file to find the entire "default" color file.

Mar 19, 2013A fellow co-worker accidentally checked the box that says "don't open this file" (or something like that) that appears when a language file is missing upon opening a file from a client. He then also "accidentally" clicked the "perform this action every time" so as the warning window wouldn't appear any more. As a consequence there are now files that we cannot open on that computer. I've searched through system variable lists and come up empty handed.....

May 17, 2013In R2013, the default file naming convention for plotting to a file (jpg, pdf, etc) was [your dwg's filename].pdf
Since R2013 SP1 (including R2014, which I've just moved onto), it has changed to [your dwg's filename] [name of the sheet you're plotting].pdf - as in "DSMC-AS-L Model(1).pdf" instead of "DSMC-AS-L.pdf"
I don't like that at all. Having to manually change it every time is pretty obnoxious.
Is there an way to change this?

May 8, 2013I created my custom Sheet Set with my desired Sheet Set properties. I named it "wizengr.dst". Who knows how I can make this DST file the default so that the "Creat Sheet" wizard and "Create Section Sheet" dialog box will automatically use it to create a sheet set during sheet creation process.

Jun 27, 2013When I try to do a make components I get this error "Could not open default template file." All the Standard.xxx files are the designated folder and named appropriately. Plus I just used this command earlier today. I did do a "rebuild all" but I'm not 100% sure the problem came directly after that.

Jan 30, 2013I recently added a second screen to my desktop and noticed that when I File Open in 2010, the box is always the small default size even after I change it numerous times. I use Display Fusion to manage the two screens but that is not the issue as this still occurs when I turn it off.

May 24, 2012We installed C3d 2012 a few months ago. When importing or exporting point I need to select the point file format each time. In previous versions, since we almost always use the same format, once you selected the format and imported/exported points it was selected by default the next time you imported/exported point. Since switching to C3d 2012 we have has issues of wrong format being selected for export (probably import also, but those are probably caught by the user themself).
I have tried creating a new format starting the name with an underscore as we do with the most common styles so that it would be listed at the top of the list. This did not work. It seem to me that the only solution is to delete all other formats to insure the correct format is seclcted. This will cause a problem on those occassions when another format is required.

Sep 21, 2009We are getting ready to deploy 2010 and I am writing a script to set some of the system variables on all the installs.
We have some users with 3rd party programs that won't run in 2010 yet so we will have a few people still running 2007 and 2008. I want to set the default File Save As in my script to 2007 format but I can't seem to find a variable to modify this.
In case I wasn't clear this is the setting found in Options, under the Open and Save tab, in the File Save section.

Sep 22, 2009Has seen Inventor randomly reset a users project file from whatever it's set at to Default?
I have a couple of users here that for whatever reason have a habit of closing out Inventor everytime they want to close out one file and open another...yes, if they work on 10 files in one day, they've opened and closed Inventor 10 times...i.e. open, close, open, close, etc.
I've seen the project file reset happen on thier stations only thusfar.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Project File Keeps Switching To Default?
Sep 25, 2012I run inventor with Vault. I have a project file set up in my vault directory. Each time I close everything and restart my computer inventor switches the Project back to default. I have deleted every .ipj I could find. Below is a screen shot of what I see every morning. It should be on vault but it is not. If I start by checking out a file from vault it checks it back in because the .IPJ is not set in inventor.
