When converting metric 3d polylines to feature lines with units set on metric, drawing properties metric and using the australia/new zealand settings and command "create featureline from objects", for some reason the resulting 3d featurelines end up imperial?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have changed my settings in all of my templates to metric. I create a new assembly, add the part (yes, it is set to metric), I now create my first new part in the assembly. When I start to sketch it changes back to inch. How do I set it so it stays metric? This is Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012.
View 6 Replies View RelatedTo convert from imperial to metric multiply the length, in inches, by 25.4 (the number of millimeters per inch).
Example: 3 inches converted to millimeters is 3*25.4 or 76.2mm.
To convert from metric to imperial multiply the length, in millimeters, by 0.03937 (the number of inches in a millimeter). For greater accuracy use 0.03937008.
Example: 100 millimeters converted to inches is 100*0.03937 or 3.937 inches.
Is it possible to indicate alternate units, imperial/metric?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've created a simple building in Revit (metric) and imported it into 3ds Max (units set to metric).
I was cleaning up the geometry on one of the walls, and am having some problems. The wall was 200mm in Revit, and using the measure tool, it comes in as 200mm in 3ds max.
To clean up the geometry on one of the walls, I removed the vertices from one side, deleted any other unnecessary vertices, and rebuilt the polygon.
When I went to extrude it, I got odd measurements. If I extrude using the "Edit Geometry>Extrude" option with a value of .2m, it comes out 2.41 meters thick.
If I extrude using the "Face Extrude" modifier (.2 in the "Amount" field), it comes out as .06 meters. What am I missing?
I am using Autocad 2000. I know, I am like an old dog who gets comfortable by the fireplace, and is happy with what I have. where the toggle is to set the dimensioning for metric dimensions. I have seen it in a couple of places and after I set it for millimeters, for some reason it still dimensions in English measurements.

I have one problem like conversion in this project involving things are converting total imperial dimensions in to metric while converting all the dimensions required in single precision like 15/16'' as .9375 mm but he need approximate value like 1 . View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to get a dwg file of the metric sheets, A0, A1, A2, A3, A4. I have seen these in the past, as a template in autocad but can't find them in AutoCAD2012. I need them with titleblock intact as I need to copy their format, and I would find it easier to just rearrange an existing sheet. I need the A4 as soon as possible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am updating a drawing that someone has sent me. The drawings are to be scaled in 1/2"=1'-0", but the drawings are all done in metric. So I reset the scale list and set it at 1/2"=1'-0" in paper space ( the paper size I am working with is 8.5" x 11") when I click on the 1/2" scale my drawing becomes huge and I cant see all of it. In page setup manager I have the plot scale at 1:1 and right below that it says 1 mm and under that 1 units. In model space the drawings have been done in 1:100.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a drawing for a client in the Metric template, everything displayed in metric, measures in metric, etc. Then this morning when I opened the file, the measurements have switched to imperial. The profile is still the metric one, and when I enter a value for a line length it is clearly using metric because it goes where I expect it to go, however the numbers displayed onscreen are in imperial. Is there an easy way to get this to switch back to displaying in Imperial?

I'm working on a project for work where we were given DXF files for a drawing. So I attached this file into AutoCAD at a scale factor of 1. The drawing was originally drawn in metric at 1:200. I am trying to set up a METRIC project (that I want to make template) that uses meters instead of millimeters.
So I created a new project, without the use of any template. I copied from the default Autocad templates folder the Model and Sheet templates to the new project folder and I set the units, scale and grid to meters and changed the path in project properties to these files.
Everything seems to work fine, except creations of sections/elevations.
I edited the SectionStyles (Metric).dwg file in default styles folder and It works fine.
But I donțt want to change that file in the default folder, but to change the path of the section styles in the project. The only way I could do that was to change it in the tool palette - right click on callout.
So how can I make the SectionStyles to load from a specific location for a project without having to right click on every callout that I want to use and change it manually?
There are some other things to do/change for making the project template that I want? (I am referring to the units setup).
