I want to make a logo for a one page flier and my website.
Is it best to set the size of the logo in Photoshop before I create it, or should I make it in Photoshop then reduce the size of the file as required?
i currently have a logo that is 460X440 pixels and 12.17cmsX11.69cms and the resolution is 96 pixels per inch.
i am wanting to change it into a 2cm X 2cm avatar that is less than 6K in size,
how do i do this? everything i try makes the output file about 24k in size.
the reason i am doing this is the forum i regularly post on has a max avatar size of 6k.
i have a logo from my workplace, and they want it blown up to like 10 times the size (A2 size).
However its only like 100px by 100px, and it looks very distorted & blurred when this size..
Any ideas of how i could make it bigger, or render it so that its more solid in colour?
ive been making business cards for a friend but i dont know how to create a PDF that is exactley the that size. when i create a PDF the options are thing like A4 etc.. and i dont see a screen to customise the size?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to make an image that, when printed, would take up the entire sheet of paper (having removed the margins in the printing properties), but I seem to have failed.
I made the image 8.5 x 11 inches, but when I printed a test at that size it came out too small... is there a % bigger that I need to make the image to fit, or did I go wrong somewhere else?
When I export a logo file to EPS it doesn't get the same size a the cdr-document. For example my document is 250 mm x 120 mm with a black background but when I open the EPS version of it in Photoshop the document is 330 mm x 120 mm with a 250 mm black background and the rest is transparent.

I have changed Canvas size a thousand times in my life and this has never happened before.
I have an image that is 1600 px wide and I want to trim the sides to 1260. When I start to even type in the smaller size, the file size indicated is larger (that was my first suspicion that something was not right). And sure enough, it is making the image larger?

After spending time in PS elements 11 making changes in color and applying frames etc. I noticed after saving the file my resolution went from 5.5Mb to 847kb. Why is this?
View 29 Replies View RelatedI need to make a poster in A1 size and I would like to know whether it is feasible to do so with GIMP, because I've seen the list of templates when making a new file and the size goes only up to A3 format.
I realize I can do the designing in A3 format and just print the A1 sheet, but I don't know if this will yield good results when considering the resolution and such.
I'm working in VSX4. I've created a couple of small movies which I want to compile onto a single dvd. The video files from both movies combined only amount to about 3.2 GB, yet when I try to "share" and make the dvd with both of my vsp files, it adds up to be a total of over 7 GB. Is it normal to have this much "inflation" on a project? I've not done anything special as far as graphics or fancy menus or even chapter markers. It's just a handful of clips with the "crossfade" transition applied. And that's it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a collage which will be printed(=300 DPI) on A3(420 × 297 mm) sized paper. The images I want to take elements from for my collage are all different in size and DPI. When these elements come together they should be similar in size in order to create a new believable scene. 1 element can't be absurdly large in relation to another.
So what I did for my first image (size of 3456 × 2304 pixels, a print-size of 1219,20 × 812,80 mm and DPI 72 × 72) was increase the DPI to 600 in order to obtain a smaller printsize - reducing it to 146,30 × 97,54 mm - cut-out the elements I need and import them into my A3 document. This gave me the size I need for my elements.
However when I try to take elements out of the second image (size of 1500 × 1125 pixels, a print-size of 211,67 × 158,75 mm and DPI 180 × 180) - which I leave unchanged because 211,67 × 158,75 mm is about the size I need for the elements - and place them into the A3 document they are too small. Same story for the third image (size of 2400 × 1600 pixels, a print-size of 304,80 × 203,20 mm and DPI 200 × 200)
i dont know what i am doing wrong working on 3D..There are not too many objects. One layer only. i have some blocks and for combining some objects i used union..i applied different materials, Sun properties etc it doesn't take time to render but to edit or even a single click on objects make them very slow..i saw the file size, it was 550MB..i purged them and used overkill command so it reduced to 450MB now..

This is something I do on a daily basis for several different reasons and it would be very useful if this can happen automatically for whatever size the artboard may be. As I understand it the only way is with a script but I have no experience with making illustrator scripts, im definately no programmer. I have set up quickkeys in the past to copy from the artboard inputs when you are on the artboard tool but these round to the nearest .01 and this is not accurate enough for what I am working with. Also if I do this with multiple pages open illustrator is very slow to respond to the artboard tool.
Below is a script that I saw on here that I believe may contain what I need but now knowing programming. Where to start on editing. All I need is the part where an object is placed on the artboard that is the exact same size as the artboard.

My file was 550MB and then i purged them and it reduced to 450 MB... I am making a 3D Project.. I am not able to upload the file as it is too big so i give you a little detail what i drew..
There are 3 meters long 5 fence panels and there i worked on details of the ornaments and put materials on them.. There is a solid base with an image and i am using sun properties with lights etc...
I cannot render the file as it gives me an error.. i am not able to work on the file now as it is gigantic size..

What I am doing wrong making 3D objects? Would it reduce the size if i union all the objects or make blocks ?
I have created a farm map in AutoCAD 2008. I want to have a sign made with this image on it with dimensions 775mm x 1096mm. I saved this image as an eps file of size A4 and sent it to the sign maker. The sign maker got back to me and told me that when he blew this image up it was blurry and could I please save it at its actual size.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to save this image at this size.

For example, if I had typed in 'hello', the size of the shape should be just big enough for the text to fit inside, without me having to change anything. On the other hand, if I typed in 'good morning', would I be able to make it so the size of the shape would change for the text to fit without having to use the transform tool?

Why is the image on the screen small the the actual file size. As an example I have an image thats 5.7x5.7 @72DPI. My canvas says 100% but the image on screen is about 3x3.

I draw a circle 1" from the top of the image. The circle is 3" in radius.
When I print the circle is nearly .25" smaller in radius and slightly less than 1" from the top.
Why is the output not in the same placement and proportions as the image on the screen?
Can someone please explain to me about file sizes and image dimensions. I have to put together a collage which is 165mm high by 258mm wide. If I click file new and choose default resolution (72) then the file size is ok, if I type in 300 dpi the image becomes huge.
If i chosse 300 dpi then the images I was going to use seem tiny on such a vast workspace - Im confused why does the canvas become so large when changing resolution?
In the new Image>Image Size dialog box, the preview is always at 100% which seems a bit disorienting.Is there a way to set that to default to "fit".

I have an image I have sized to fit an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Canvas and image size all indicate my image is sized at 7.33 x 11 inches. It is at 300 dpi. Print size view indicates full space is utilized on either side….BUT…
When I go to print, I click "scale to fit media" (which is an 8.5 x 11 paper sitting in printer) image prints smaller with a bar on one side. .
