View 4 RepliesIs there a way to change the color on the Zoom Window Crosshair? I would like to make it darker to be more visable against my background..
View 4 Replies View RelatedBack in Acad2002 when I selected a command (line, for example) the crosshairs would lose the pickbox around them and I could precisely pick the area I want with no obstruction. I see in 2012, that following those same steps, leaves the pickbox around the crosshairs and thus makes it obtrusive to precisely pick exactly what I want. Is there a system variable to make that pickbox disappear while I am making my selection?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been annoyed with the color of my crosshair for a while, I have my background set to black so the the crosshair is white. This is no problem in Model and over the paper in Layout, but when I move the crosshair outside the paper to the Grey area, I can't see the crosshair.
I can't remember this being a problem before so it must be something with 2011 that I installed a while back.
I can find where I change the color of the crosshair (Options > Display > Colors > Crosshair) so thats not the trouble.
The trouble is that since I can't remember this being a trouble before, the crosshair must have changed color from White when black background to Black when white background.
And I seem to remember that there was a color before that was called Black/White that was this exactly. It changed from Black to White depending on the background .
how can i change color of the extruded items becuase when i view it from the top it doesn't look like if anything is extrude. you would have to look from the side to tell if its extruded.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make the cross hairs default to the inverse of the color under them (e.g. black when over white, blue when over yellow, cyan when over red, etc.)? I remember that it did this in previous versions, but I can't find a setting for it in 2011.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to change the color of layer that will be used within a drawing files for special purposes.
Ideally the code will make the color Red, but change to Black prior to printing.
The "logic" behind the code currently is to differentiate a layer called "Burn" to a highly visible color for the purpose of review by others then, prior to printing, change the color to Black. The firm I'm currently working for uses gray-scale B sided printers only. The firm currently uses Blue for dimension and extension lines so to produce drawings that portray both type of objects "lightly".
Two questions, actually. Why does the healing brush crosshair change in location relative to the brush and then why does the crosshair change in color?
Also, in healing brush, with "aligned" unchecked, why does the brush image change as it moves? I though that with "aligned" off, the selection made with ATL - click stayed constant.
Everytime I change the color of a layer in the layer manager, It takes several trys before it will take, Quite Frustrating!
Color are set to "by layer" so that is not the issue.
I just installed AutoCAD2012 and can't find how to change rendering background. I want to get white background, but it always coming as grey. Where to find that option for changing color of rendering background ?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi cannot get the tools name while dragging the cross hair towards the tools it is displaying only some boxes .
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions when you hovered over an invisible axis in the browser you could see the whole line in the model. Now you just get the end points displaying as yellow circles and it can be quite difficult to see where the line is. What's the point of this change? Is there a way to get the old behaviour back?

What I would like to happen is have the full property menu open when I select more than one line of text and then double click. As it is, the quick properties opens (in 2011 and previous, full properties opened) . I still want the Edit Text window to open if I double click only one line. I have gone into the user interface and customized some of the items I want for double clicking, I know how to do that, but I'm not sure what change to make for the multiple item double clicking. I actually would like the full properties anytime I pick and dbl-click anything, you know, like the old days.
I didn't notice when and why it happened, but now when i draw white line, it appears brown. I didnt change any settings, just did my usual work, when it appears. Other colors are normal. What could it be?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am copying chunks of code from the My First Plugin tutorial and am using the code that opens Inventor to start the form. I have both Inventor 2012 and 2013 installed on my system. I have gone in to the properties and changed the .dll reference file to read out of the bin/PublicAssemblies folder in 2013, however, when I run my Windows Form, it will open Inventor 2012 instead.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently installed 2013, previously had 2011inv. Trying to find out exactly what the constraint changes are from 2011 to 2012 inv. I as told that there was a post here with them, but cannot find it (only posts of constraint problems that people were having when they switched to 2012).
what the changes are from inv2011 to 2012 or inv2011 to 2013. Doesn't autodesk have these changes listed somewhere in writting?
heres the problem we had created a slope style in 2012 15% - 25% and 25% - 100%. done this many times with no problems. so we upgrade and open the file in 2014 now there is a large white area that c3d is filling in.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can i easy change the layer colors of all elements in a block and also the blocks in that block witout exploding everything ten times. I wish Autodesk create a button so if you select a block and use the button i had a choice to

my crosshair displays the trails all the time. What can I do to resolve this problem; it's not the mouse setting.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i started using 2011. I have 2 viewports active; plan and isometric view. But when I try to navigate in the isometric view, the crosshair behaves in a way I don't understand. What happens is that when I zoom in the crosshair disappears over or under what I'm zooming in on.
It's hard to describe, but it seems that it have a different origo then the view represents. When I zoom out so much that the crosshairs are visible and I try to move them upwards, they stop in the middle of the screen and then the marker becomes visible in the ribbon part of the screen.
I have tried detaching all xref's, purged and audit, checked the elevation (0). This only happens in some drawings, not all, and I can't think of a common denominator in the drawings it happens.
If I zoom in on a small detail in a large sketch and then issue the "edit sketch" command Inventor changes the view to where the origin is visible on the screen. Is it possible to disable this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI admit that I have used AutoCAD for several years now, but I have very, very little experience with 3D applications and needing to alter the typical horizontal/vertical coordinate system.
What I have is a file that, though the lower-left icon is horiz/vert, my crosshairs cursor is tilted approximately 30 degrees counterclockwise. This file, I believe, did originate in AutoCAD Civil 3D, so who knows what was done there. But, how can I get my crosshairs straightened out once more?
I have noticed a relation with the UCS and the cursor, when I've played with Orbits. I just can't grasp what that relationship is.
Have a specific drawing that the crosshair in the Y direction is broken (sse attached image). Exacctly in middle of screen this problem was seen also in older autocad releases (R2008)
The UCS is world and PLAN view is set, the screen is OK the display card + driver is OK. The weird thing is this is only in this dwg and even if it insert it to fresh dwg in comes good.
Concerning Inventor 2012...
We do a good bit of deriving parts from assemblies. We have a workflow that works well for us, we create PARTS, put them in an ASSEMBLY, then create new PARTS DERIVED from ASSEMBLY. We use Boolean to add/subtract and disregard parts as needed to create these parts. These parts are now given color and reassembled in an yet another final ASSEMBLY as needed and put into a drawing.
Through Inventor 2011 this worked well.
In Inventor 2012 the color is disapering as soon as any change is made on a source part.
1 Changing the color does not work.
2 In the derived from Assembly, opening up (in the browser) the individual .ipt's and right clicking and clicking properties and changing the color only stays until the next change to the source prt.
3 Changing EACH individual face by right click, properties and setting the FACE PROPERTIES from "as feature" to "as part" does work, but is ridiculous to change hundreds of faces on each part. (especially considering we did NOT need this step in 2011)
Is there a switch in the registry (to turn off the standard “as feature” to the parts face).

When I plot to paper from TV2012, I'm good with monochrome - black lines, white background - awesome.
I would *like*, however, to plot a few things to PDF, but retain the view I have on my display - I.E., lines/labels of various colors and a BLACK background. I've been poking around for a bit, and if there's a way to make that setting, I'm no finding it. Everything I try has gotten me colored lines/labels on a white background.
