AutoCAD 2010 :: Crosshair Displaying Trails All The Time?
Feb 22, 2012my crosshair displays the trails all the time. What can I do to resolve this problem; it's not the mouse setting.

Jun 13, 2012Have a specific drawing that the crosshair in the Y direction is broken (sse attached image). Exacctly in middle of screen this problem was seen also in older autocad releases (R2008)
The UCS is world and PLAN view is set, the screen is OK the display card + driver is OK. The weird thing is this is only in this dwg and even if it insert it to fresh dwg in comes good.

Jan 16, 2013I'm trying to use the retimer tool, which allows me to theoretically access the 'time span' menu.
Right-click the horizontal arrow between the tops of the two markers. This opens the Retimer Span Type right-click menu, where you can set the span behavior.
But it simply isn't displaying for me. I've got the latest Nvidia drivers and the latest product update.
I'm about at the end of my tether - I should simply be able to right click the horizontal arrow and display the menu.
It's called the retimer span type menu - and it doesn't open!
AutoCAD 2010 :: Dialog Boxes Not Displaying?
Feb 27, 2012When opening AutoCAD 2010, I get an error message "Unable to load profile...". This happened unexplicably. I have been using AutoCAD several months with no problems. One annoying consequence is that dialog boxes do not display. For example, running DIMSTYLE does not open the Dimension Style dialog box; instead, a list of options such as ANnotative, Save, and Restore appears. How do I get back to normal?

They have appeared in the customisation area and in the current Workspace and I have turned on the menus I require and no error is returnned, however when I go to the drawing screen none of the customised menus or ribbon tabs have appeared. I have performed an Autocad LT repair and also a reinstall from the add/remove programs and I have also tried a different .CUIX file but still no luck.

Oct 31, 2013I'm having an issue with some of my drawings where the all the lineweights appear much too thick on the screen. When I plot the drawing or look at a print preview the lineweights appear correct, but in model space they appear much too thick.
I found the option to show / hide lineweights, and when I toggle this option from show to hide it seemingly fixes the issue, but when I pan or zoom on the drawing the think lineweights come back.
Why this is happening, even with show lineweights enabled they should not be displaying this thick as every line on the drawing is default lineweight, and the default is set at 0.25mm, I have the exact settings on different drawings but they dont have this display issue.

Apr 18, 2013We currently use AC 2012 Mech.when selecting from the menu content/fasteners/screws and then opening the countersunk head types, many users will see what is dispalyed in the attachment good picture.png... the type of screw is displayed (we can see the text)...while other users selecting the same prompts from the menu will see what is displayed in the attachment bad picture.png... the text is NOT displayed...this occurs for many different types of content, not just the fasterners/screws...

Is it possible to override all the colors of an existing *.DWG to a Monochrome Format? I want to be able to open any autocad file and veiw everything in black and white IN MODEL SPACE.
I am not interested in 'changing layer colors' or 'manually changing blocks to the right color.' Right now, I explode the entire drawing (several times depending on how deep something is grouped) and change the color to by layer, but sometimes blocks become contaminated and lose all their data. (In addition, I am not interested in plotting in Monochrome.)
If this task is impossible, is it possible to change the definition of the color "yellow." What I mean by the previous statement is to trick autocad into thinking it is using 'yellow' when it is actually using a different color. Sort of like an induced color blindness.
SUMMARY: I don't want to change a color FROM yellow, I just don't want yellow TO EXIST.

Feb 21, 2012how to write a field that will add or subtract one from the drawing number. I'm adding drawing join line text to drawings so I need the text on the left to read one less than the current drawing & text to the right to read one more.
in drawing 005 text would read "joins drawing 004" & "joins drawing 006"

AutoCAD 2010 :: Displaying Room Names / Areas And Occupancy Calculation As Text
Feb 22, 2013I would like to display the room name and area as text from a spaces i have created. Like a room tag that will automatically update if the space is altered.
I have tried a number of ways but have been successful and the solutions are often overly complicated.
I have since given up and simply entered text and included a field for the space name and another field for the base area however this is quite laborious. surely there is a simpler way of doing this.
I would also like to include occupancy numbers that would also calculate the m2 per person if that is possible?

I'm presuming that there is some sort of system variable that controls this, but I have not been able to find it in the help files. The Mtext editor is working from the Mtext command, so I know it's not the DTEXTED variable.

Jan 9, 2014Our company recently made a huge leap forward moving from Inventor 11 to Inventor 2014. We have found an issue with Tweak Trails that we cannot seem to get resolved.
The trails are displaying on "top" of the assembly geometry in both the IPN and the IDW files. For instance if I pull a shaft our of normal position, the trail will display completely over the holding piece, instead of "disappearing" as it goes into the hole. I have a picture below that shows what we are experiencing.
Notice that the trail shown on the shaft is visible on "top" of the shaft, as well as the mating pieces geometry. We were used to seeing the trail "under" the model geometry, and only visible from the end of the shaft into the hole. Is it possible to get this visualization style back?!?

May 21, 2012I have an Inventor presentation file (.ipn) which is displaying all the trails from the various components.
I have gone to animate and saved as a wmv video clip, the trails have been recorded with the video clip however I do not want them to be visible. Is there a way to animate / record a short wmv clip of my explosion with the trails removed ?
I know I can remove them in my IPN but I do not want to do this, I only want them to be invisible in the video clip.

May 17, 2012I have a drawing which is referencing a .ipn model, the .ipn model has all of it's trail line invisible however the drawing is showing them all visible. What I am trying to do is find a simple and quick way to turn off the visibility of ALL the trail lines in the drawing without having to pick out each one and ajust manually, The model .ipn is quite complicated and has many trails on it so I really need a way to turn off the visibility of these in the drawing.

Jan 31, 2012When I switch tabs in my UI (I use Drafting and Annotation), they bug somehow and they don't upgrade visually. What I mean is that if I switch "Home" tab to "Annotate", it keeps showing "Home" tab maximized, but the if I click "Line" it would use "Multiline tool", as they occupy same space in corresponding tab. I can fix it temporarily by multi-clicking bar, but after next switch between tabs, it would bug again. I assume it is not hardware problem, as it used to work for me, then I reinstalled my OS and bug started.

I'm only running Autocad 2013 LT on my computer without servers.
I need to open multiple files at a time with some of them being 40mb large. Problem is it takes quite sometime to open the large files.
What can i do to improve the performance of opening and working with larger files? Would adding more ram dramticaly improve it? If not, i would go about buying a new i7 cpu.
AutoCad :: Color Of Crosshair
May 26, 2011I have been annoyed with the color of my crosshair for a while, I have my background set to black so the the crosshair is white. This is no problem in Model and over the paper in Layout, but when I move the crosshair outside the paper to the Grey area, I can't see the crosshair.
I can't remember this being a problem before so it must be something with 2011 that I installed a while back.
I can find where I change the color of the crosshair (Options > Display > Colors > Crosshair) so thats not the trouble.
The trouble is that since I can't remember this being a trouble before, the crosshair must have changed color from White when black background to Black when white background.
And I seem to remember that there was a color before that was called Black/White that was this exactly. It changed from Black to White depending on the background .
AutoCAD 2010 :: Crash Big Time On Multiple User Environment?
Jul 20, 2013My working company currently practicing multiple user per pc. The autocad can run smoothly during the 1st time windows user account setup. But later on, after few days it start crash. The app will load and run but just for doing simple thing such draw lines, polilines n such. When i want to access the task panel, it crashed. Same if wan to load application, lisp etc. It only work fine under the user account which it is installed in. My user account have the administrative privilege and i'm running Windows XP platform (x32).
