AutoCAD Inventor :: Removing Trails From IPN Video File
May 21, 2012
I have an Inventor presentation file (.ipn) which is displaying all the trails from the various components.
I have gone to animate and saved as a wmv video clip, the trails have been recorded with the video clip however I do not want them to be visible. Is there a way to animate / record a short wmv clip of my explosion with the trails removed ?
I know I can remove them in my IPN but I do not want to do this, I only want them to be invisible in the video clip.
So I took a photo back in January (so it can't really be reshot) and I'm having trouble removing the car(s) that appeared in the last couple of seconds on the right.
I've tried and it's not as simple as it seems (ie the road isn't just "black")
Is there a way to remove the trails from a presentation one they have been added using the tweak components command ? These are shown on the animation but I can't seem to remove them without completely redoing the animation.
Our company recently made a huge leap forward moving from Inventor 11 to Inventor 2014. We have found an issue with Tweak Trails that we cannot seem to get resolved.
The trails are displaying on "top" of the assembly geometry in both the IPN and the IDW files. For instance if I pull a shaft our of normal position, the trail will display completely over the holding piece, instead of "disappearing" as it goes into the hole. I have a picture below that shows what we are experiencing.
Notice that the trail shown on the shaft is visible on "top" of the shaft, as well as the mating pieces geometry. We were used to seeing the trail "under" the model geometry, and only visible from the end of the shaft into the hole. Is it possible to get this visualization style back?!?
I have a drawing which is referencing a .ipn model, the .ipn model has all of it's trail line invisible however the drawing is showing them all visible. What I am trying to do is find a simple and quick way to turn off the visibility of ALL the trail lines in the drawing without having to pick out each one and ajust manually, The model .ipn is quite complicated and has many trails on it so I really need a way to turn off the visibility of these in the drawing.

I want to keep the original audio captured with video footage but remove the actual video and replace it with other video footage taken and still images. I'm guessing that this is possible using the overlay track, but ideally, I would like to just remove the original video so that I can use two new images between the main track and other "images" on the overlay track. I have no need for the original video, just the audio. Is this possible? If not, is there any way to insert audio from video onto either a music or narration track scrap the video portion?
I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!
I come on these forums sometimes, to browse. Anyway, I have a "fairly" advanced knowledge of photoshop, and i finally posed myself a "particular" question on a particular "effect". So i regestered, and here comes the nutshell (question) :
I've seen these quite often in still images, but also in videos. They're "light" trails, like fire, but alot brighter, like night lights under a shakey mobile phone camera.
When doing architectural photography, its often desired to have motion blur on the people so as to obscure their faces. Unfortunately it needs to look realistic, and I've just been doing it by hand, but it seems like there should be an automatic way when you have two images like this:
Obviously I am able to do this by hand somewhat decently, but that's not what I'm after. I want a way to do automatic motion blur, and I want the trails to look realistic.
Just grabbed Scott's book from amazon and can't wait to get a better understanding about some of the tools I've been using. In the meantime I just noticed that I have some white trails or fine lines in an image I'm working on that appear after I have been moving things around and deleting sections etc.
It's no problem on a little image like this to run around with the brush to tidy it up and then fill white/transparent, but I'm wondering if there is there a setting or an order of working that avoids making the lines in the first place?I have filled the background in black to show the trails...
I'd like to build a rule into my standard part template that takes the part number (which it automatically gets from the file name by default), removes the characters after a delimiter, as well as the delimiter itself, and sets that as a new custom property. For example, we'll call the custom property Prop1
For part 123-321-1.ipt
Inventor already sets part number iProperty to 123-321-1
I want to set Prop1 to 123-321
For part 123-321-25.ipt
Inventor already sets part number iProperty to 123-321-25
I'm making a site layout that brings together a bunch of large file assemblies and it's bogging my computer down,
so what I'm trying to do is remove the attributes from the assemblies and make it a block with no moving parts(hope this makes sense). I just need it to look like the parts.
I'm having trouble removing a layer of coating from all of my design.
Example: I receive customer-specs and I draw say, an m&m. Now I have to make the chocolate base in order to put the sugar-coating on. I want to make a drawing (and a model) for my chocolate base and I know the thickness of my sugar-coating.
Now, I would like to draw up the complete m&m, and peel off the sugar-coating-layer. I tried to use the offset-feature, but I'm having trouble selecting the entire part.
How does one remove the boundary box for a detail view? I don't want it sitting in my main view, as this is a conveyor and it's very obvious at to where the drive arrangement is sited. See attached.
I'm guessing changing it to another layer that does not print is one option, or?
i've attached my model - basically I want to remove the fish shaped component from a solid block so it can be mirrored and CNC milled from an aluminium block to make a prototype fishing lure (Ignore the undercut on the tail).
I've looked at the online videos but the steps taken don't work on my model. I made the lure as a whole and split it in 2 - is this the problem?
Using the shell feature. I have used a bit in the past and its always done what I want. This go around what I want is to shell without removing any outside walls, which it does no matter I seem to try. I can easily add a new outter wall back in, but if I can shell without removing an outter wall it would be just that much cleaner in my tree.
I have an assembly I'm working in, and it would be useful to hide some of them because I'm still adding parts to it, and I cannot see. When I turn off visibility to some of the parts, I get a dialogue asking if I wish to remove associativity. This is because I'm driving the location of some holes off of other parts in the assembly. Is there no way to hide some of these components without removing the associativity? I just want to be able to see inside of here, not get rid of the components altogether.

I load an .eps file on Illustrator CC on Mac OS X 10.8.5 and can't remove the box and edit the EPS. Nothing works, re-save with create compatible file as PDF, Save with legacy format, and another old illustrator format, etc.
Then I send to a friend that have Illustrator CS5.5 and he save it and re-send me to me... Now can edit the file. Why can't do it on Illustrator CC?
We want to use dual dimensions for holes and figured out how to do this by editing the styles. This works great except for threaded holes the dual dimension is redundant as shown in the picture.
Is there a way to not have the dual dimension for threaded holes but keep them for other holes? Having a dual dimentsion for a metric thread or having it printed twice on the drawing is pointless.
I'm trying to vault of one my parts and it refuses to upload. It's refusing to upload because the part keeps refering to a certain bitmap image. I have removed the reference (from the styles library) to the bitmap image but it's still calling for it to be uploaded!
How can I find out why this part still calls for this bitmap image? Why is it still making reference to it even after I have deleted the style which uses it?
I have a model that has been made up from a revolved sketch and then had loads of bits done to it etc.. Basically it is a tapered ring with a fillet on the top edge, I need a top face dxf export for profiling and to do this I need to remove the radius on the edge, but because it is a revolved sketch and it is not filleted it is not so easy to do with other references involved.
Is there a way I can temporally rebuild the edge to remove the fillet, I tried in fusion but it won't allow a Zero fillet edge?
I can't upload the sketch to show you unfortunately.
Is there a way of quickly and easily toggling the visibility of the line from shown from the base view to the detailed view ? I just want to flick it off so I only see the detailed view with no line attached.
I have problems removing imported dwg files from imported categories list of the graphics visibility dialog
I select a dwg in a plan view and then delete it. But when i go to the graphics visibility imported categories tab
i can still see it checked. And even if I uncheck it save file and reopen it
it still shows up in the imported categories list.. how to remove items from the list?? (as i want to import some other dwgs with names exactly like those in the list)
ps in fact the dwgs i delete don't show up in plans anymore but do so in the list!
I can explode them and delete but they all the same in the list!
