I converted from AutoCAD 2000 to 2014 and now when I open up my old drawings some of the text does not show up. But if I go back and open it with 2000 it is still there. I found that if I convert the text to mtext it shows up. Is there a setting in AutoCAD 2014 that I can change so that this text shows up? I tried changing the annotation scale to see if that would do anything but it did not.
View 1 RepliesI have had numerous problems trying to print from 2014 using the setting "Visible portion of current window". This feature was never that good, anyway, but now it seems to be WAY worse. I'm spending 5-10 minutes to just send something to the printer that should only take 5 seconds.
See the attached images of what I see on screen, the print dialog boxes and then what I actually get. The "Center" option doesn't function properly and now I must manually adjust the margins to print what I see on the screen.
When attempting to add text to a photo, the typed text is not visible on the layer in the "Layers Box" until exiting the Text Tool. Text nexer is visible on the photo Background image. If the edited image is saved, the added typed text is not saved; only the original Background image. How do I reset the Text Tool so it will be functional?

The stage size you see above is H: 400px, W: 550px.
I would like for the stage to be smaller, say H:50px./W:400px
Ok so if I change the size of the stage the animation text will not show, so I need to adjust the position of the text in order for the animation text to be visible, but in doing that, I am disrupting the timeline and the animation goes all funny, is there another way of doing this without disrputing the timeline?
They are the only objects on this layer with which this happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been running AutoCAD 2006 since it came out and have been running it on Windows 7 since it came out. I've never had any problem runnning my LT version. Today, all of a sudden I cannot type text in the multi-tex box. The cursor moves in the box but nothing is shown. I click okay but cannot select anything. It's like the cursor is moving but not laying down text. I've changed the different fonts, colors and even changed my background from Black to While and still cannot see any text.
My single line text tool continues to work just not the multi-line text box.
I also tried restarting my computer and tried opening existing files. The multi-line box problem occurs on other files to.
there is already a style set from the file i'm using, when i am trying to get the measurements from the line to show up, they aren't doing so. how do i get it to show the lines when i modify the text and make it become visible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a small office and 2 of the associates are using autocad lt 2014 1 is using 2013 and I am using 2007. Up until a few months ago we were all on 2007.
Now when I open drawings from the 2007 version, I cannot see some of the text. I have tried the following: Checking layers to make sure they are onChecking font to make sure they are availabemaking sure annonotation is visiblemaking sure proxy graphics are onMaking a block of just the drawing objects and opening that I am not that familiar with 2014, so I cannot figure out what is happening. Note - when i look at the drawing in the preview window, I can see the text. But when I open it, it is not there. If I save in 2014, the text no longer shows up in the preview.

Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing the plot command, I am able to convert my AutoCad 2000 drawings to pdf format but I don't know how to save them in their actual size. In other words, I have a drawing that should print on a 24 x 36 sheet in actual size, but when I save it in a 1:1 plot scale, only an 8-1/2 x 11 section of the 24 x 36 drawing is displayed. I think I need the ability to designate a 24 x 36 paper size but I don't see a way to do that.
I thought I could do that in Plot Device - Properties but there's no paper size option larger than 8-1/2 x 11. I have the PDF Converter, Windows system driver by Autodesk.What do I do?

Third, the problem.I am experiencing a selection and double click editing problem with AutoCAD 2012LT & AutoCAD 2014LT. On Friday, June 28th we recieved updated (not new) backgrounds from a lighting designer for two floors of the building whose MEP system we are engineering. The second floor had no problems really; we reset some annotation scales and the updated backgrounds plugged right in. The first floor, however, was so messed up that we copied and pasted the track lights and all else into our file directly (vs. xref'ing) and instantly, after a save, it is impossible to evoke any kind of edit with double click. In order for us to modify anything, we have to type the command before editing. So if I want to DDEDIT, I have to type that in before changing the text. If I do select the text first than CAD freezes, takes a huge dump, wipes for 5 minutes, and then the text editor appears. This problem is ubiquitous with all 2012 LT machines and up. AutoCAD 2005 LT has no problem (lmfao).
I enter text rarely in PS (CS2) but have successfully done it. Recently I went to add text but either the text is not visible or has not been added.
I selected the horizontal type tool, clicked on image to get a new layer and place the I beam cursor (that changed to a small square on clicking). I typed text in 60 pt text, black, clicked commit and ... nothing.
The text typed appeared in the thumbnail but not the image.
In AutoCad 2000 there was a design center that showed my symbols on the CD. Now I have 2010 and can't acess my symbols on the CD. I can't run the installl on the CD because I don't have admin rights.

This CAM system has been designed to run with data created using the Hewlett Packard plotter driver HP7470 but unfortuneately my version of AutoCad 2000 does not list this driver as an option under the Plotter Manager/Add a Driver tab. how I can go about finding and downloading a copy of driver HP7470 in order that it may be added to the list of options in the Add a Driver list?
I have tried using some of the alternative drivers listed in but all appear to give inaccurate or spurious results.
