we develop a cam-function with c-sharp and like to get the turningdirection of a closed pline with arcs. As arcs can "overtake" points things are getting a bit difficult. Is there a way to read the normalvector of a closed pline?

But I'm having trouble finding a detailed list of commands and functions for the LISP language that explain creating circles to selecting entities filtered by properties. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to combine two closed, filled arcs to make a 3 sided image with a large arc at the top and a small one at the bottom. I need to knock out the extra fill along the outside of the small arc at the bottom which is the point where the large connects. I'm also unfortunately still using CS2 ans using XP. I've tried many combinations using the pathfinder tools as well as setting them up as compound paths and masks.

I have attached a sample drawing. Drawing was created with Civil 3D 2013, but I exporttoautocadr12dxf'd it and then save to 2004 dwg so most should be able to open it.
Wether it's possible to spread the pixels colors considering the normal vector of the selection curve ?

Is there any way to make vector text bear the characteristic of "closed path data"? Perhaps prior to, or after, applying the text in PSP? I am trying to import files from Corel PaintShop Photo Pro into MotionStudio 3D.
I am able to bring in vector objects created, but is there a way to make it so that vector text works also, by making vector text "closed"?
I was working in Illustrator CS6 I had made a a bunch of vectors for a background and grouped them. I applied a blur to the group and was still editing the vectors within the group since then. After I saved and closed my file at the end of the day and opened it the next day my vector group is now solid. It seems like it is just a raster image? I can't edit it at all. How can I get it back? If I can't change it back I am going to have to start again!

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have used PEDIT to join multiple polylines, which now appear as polylines. But when I use QSELECT to show all open (non-closed) section, one polyline still shows up as open.
I've attached the file I'm working on. The polyline in question is the green outline on the object on the right.
i want to have multiple offsetoutlines on a closed or non-closed path. with "offset path" i can make only one additional outline but i need multiple?
i searched all over the net for answers with no success.
we used AutoCad LT 98 & hasn't changed when opening the same files in LT 2014. All curved lines (arcs) that occur in a recently-opened file look like two straight lines with an angle at the mid-point, so that from a distance they still resemble an arc but not at all when zoomed in. When clicking on the control points, it goes to looking like a proper arc, but the change doesn't hold after the file is saved and reopened. Is there a program-wide setting to change, or do the properties of each arc need to be changed individually?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have terrible lag whenever I am drawing a polyline. It seems like it is taking forever to render the preview of the line when I am dragging the line across the screen. I would prefer to just turn off the line preview if at all possible. So far, I have not been able to find a way to do this. When I say preview of the line, I am talking about the transparent line that follows your cursor after you start a polyline and exists until you click to place the line where you want it.

Recieved a ACAD converted Microstation File for use in an upcoming construction project. Would like to convert all of the existing ellipses to polylines. Have read several threads that lead me to believe redrawing them is about the only real way to do it. Posting here in hopes of a solution. Drawing contains 127 ellipses, and I dont want to redraw all of them!!
Currently on C3D2012.
what I need to do is to flatten a spline into a pline because I need to measure its diameter.
I know how to it with a 2d spline but how can I manage in case I have a 3d one?
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and it will not convert a p-line to revcloud .
View 9 Replies View Related1st let me preface this with the fact that I know zilch, nada, nil about solid modeling. But I think the easiest way to accomplish what I'm trying to do is thru solid modeling and export the end result as (3D) polyline
What I have is 2 intersecting arcs with varying radii and ucs values. I'm guessing these could turned into regions and then subtract 1 from the other in order to find a list of intersecting points or maybe a splined pline. Or maybe they could be joined. Either way, if I DXFOUT the solids in R12 format, they become plines

These file used same system variables. How can do this? I would like know for system variables that possible can do.
whe i try to draw a pline it accepts the first numerical entry but locks up on the second point. Also when i use this command no matter what layer it is on the line becomes very fat

Is there a way to add/remove vertices from polylines using the grips method similar to editing hatch boundaries? I know of "Pedit" and "edit vertex" then "add vertex" but this seems like too many steps after working with hatch boundaries.

I use Pedit alot on straight line but won't work on circle. As you can see on the picture below when i changed the lineweight to be bigger but the circle is still the same.

what is the setting to tell a line to extend to the face of a pline when that line doesn't actually intersect with the pline? see image below...line 1 will extend to pline faces A and B, but how do i get line 2 to extend to those faces? i know this worked when i used autocad 2008 but i'm now using 2012 LT so hopefully it still works, i just don't remember the command name to control it.

I have bearings and distances but I am wondering if using PLIN is the best method to draw parcels in AutoCad Map 2012. I have a layer of the Townships, Ranges and Sections that I hope to align with the drawings. Most of the time it looks okay meaning they line up and for the most are where they are suppose to be but ever so often I have problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 Im exporting a few subdivisions to MapInfo after doing my steps on a MAPEXPORT command to create a .TAB or .MIF / .MID which are the steps do below.
MAPEXPORT --> select format_ .TAB or .MIF ---> select my drawing manually ----> do my coordinate conversion -----> DONE..
When in MAPINFO and ready to open / import the exported .TAB it opens and places the drawings (subdivisions) in its correct coordinate I gave it, but the TEXT and ARC / CIRCLES do not come in to scale at all they are extremely large to a point where they can't be seen till I do a zoom all.
Whenever I try to trim two intersection arcs who have the same bending direction and similar radius, casue it is extremely hard to click on the parts that need to be trimmed off. See attached pic for reference.

I was thinking of using the COM interface and sending the PEDIT command and converting the arcs.
The only problem is I don't know of a way to put the objectids into a selection set, then call the pedit command and use the previous selection.
