View 2 Replies I have a line or a pline segment and i want to start a line from a point laying there and go perpendicular outwards. Is there a way to do it with tracking?
Yes, i saw the command draw line at an angle but i find it a little bit complicated for a simple task like that. I am sure autodesk have a simplest solution about that.
If i am already at the draw line mode and i can easy catch the tracking perpendicular to previous segment but if i want to start from another line and go perpendicular i cannot make the tracking work.
I have LWPOLYLINEs that represent a cross section of a train tunnel. Each LWPOLYLINE lists its 2D points in an Object Coordinate System. My task is to create 3D Polylines in WorldCoordinateSystem using those LWPOLYLINEs.I have posted a drawing with sample objects.
I have attached a sample drawing. Drawing was created with Civil 3D 2013, but I exporttoautocadr12dxf'd it and then save to 2004 dwg so most should be able to open it.
I have one LW polyline consisting lines and one or two arcs. I want to calculate length of all line segments and arc segments separately and the resulted values to be shown as attributes (seperate attributes for line segments and arc segments).
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there some indication that shows the “direction” of the digitizing?
For example, in the screenshot below, how to know the start and the end of the line? Which indication the AutoCAD provides rather than the coordinates?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
I have both a 16 button cordless puck and a 2 button cordles pen stylus. I have the 16 button cordess puck configured to AutoCad 2011 tablet0.dwg. I want to be able to use the 2 button cordless pen stylus for digitizing/tracing drawings from model ship kit plans. So, do I calibrate or configure the pen stylus so AutoCad 2011 will recognize it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am considering using GIMP 2.8 on my system with Mac OS X 10.6.8 to do thefollowing:
(1) Digitise a photograph by tracing over parts of it with lines. The photocould be, say, the roots of a tree. The lines would be colour codeddepending on the state of what they are over. I.e. roots in one state getstraced with one colour, while roots in another state would get a differentcolour. In the end I might end up with a bunch of lines, with the differentcolours of lines organised in different layers.
(2) Calculate the relative proportion of lines of a certain colour to thetotal length of all lines.
To do the above, I am wondering if GIMP has the ability to calculate thelength of lines drawn over an image (in, say, number of pixels). This way, Ican obtain the total pixel length all lines put together, and the totalpixel length of, say, just the blue lines.
Do you think GIMP is suitable for this kind of image analyses? Or should Iuse a vector based program like Inkscape?
I want to create 2.5D Buildings, like at google maps website.
Example:
How to do it?
I use CS4 on the Mac. I'm looking for an efficient solution for digitizing family photo albums. I know how to scan and fix the scanned image, if necessary. I know how to organize photos in Adobe Bridge. What I'm clear on is how to create captions for the photos that will will be permanently linked to the photo files and can be output for on-screen or print albums / galleries.
Also, what is a good tool for creating output? InDesign is an obvious possibility for print; but I was wondering if there is some sort of plug-in or companion product for PS designed specifically for generating albums and slideshows.
I recently got rid of my Canon GL1. before I did, I captured 30+ hours of footage using Premier Elements. Unfortunately, I cant view it without using premiere. All I want to do is save it as useable date for future editing in a format that is versatile as well as be able to catalog it easily.

I have a site plan that has buildings at different angles. How do I rotate my view so that the buildings are displayed at a normal x,y view?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm now using a different computer. I have a drawing with an existing surface and contours. I have two buildings on site that I'd like to mask the contours that run through them. I used the mask feature for one of them, but that is the limit. How can I mask the contours so they aren't running through the other building.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a drawing of a jobsite. The jobsite has multiple buildings surrounded by water wells. Each well has a unique ID, ie MW-7. In model space everything is drawn at a 1:1 scale. The jobsite is quite large, and in layout view my scale is set to 1"=100'. Everything looks visually pleasing, text size, block sizes (symbol for the well location, etc.). However, I need to create a new layout that zooms into a particular portion of the site. I need my scale to be roughly 1"=50'.
My question is this: How can I set my drawing so that when I zoom into the area of interest, the block symbols and the well IDs stay the same size and don't crowd up the entire page? Otherwise my well IDs are huge! I think it might have something to do with annotative scaling, but I can't get it to work properly. This drawing is being done in AutoCAD 2012
I have a problem when designing one building in 3d. The thing is i want to create a 3d model made only out of 3d solids. So there is this complex ceiling, I made out of 3 meshes and above it, in the above floor, there's a non complex plate.
[URL] ........
This meshes are made based on the actual dimensions of different sides of the floor, are unique and are good approximation of the actual building's ceiling. So, I want to make 3d solid that would have the same bottom shape and the same - even top as in the picture if the space between the objects would be filled out.
I need to be able to do simple floor plans for commercial and residential buildings, what version of autocad do I need?
Will autocad 2013 LT be good enough?
I have a rather large surface and am trying to add hide boundaries to the existing houses/Buildings footprints however whenever I do my whole surface disappears.

I try BS 1192 and ISO but they are misappointed me.
for ex they use
1-ext wall white .5
2- hatch blue .18 !! (not clear color and not light weight)
3- int. wall color: 9 weight: .25
I have terrible lag whenever I am drawing a polyline. It seems like it is taking forever to render the preview of the line when I am dragging the line across the screen. I would prefer to just turn off the line preview if at all possible. So far, I have not been able to find a way to do this. When I say preview of the line, I am talking about the transparent line that follows your cursor after you start a polyline and exists until you click to place the line where you want it.
I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Dell Precision M6600

Recieved a ACAD converted Microstation File for use in an upcoming construction project. Would like to convert all of the existing ellipses to polylines. Have read several threads that lead me to believe redrawing them is about the only real way to do it. Posting here in hopes of a solution. Drawing contains 127 ellipses, and I dont want to redraw all of them!!
Currently on C3D2012.
what I need to do is to flatten a spline into a pline because I need to measure its diameter.
I know how to it with a 2d spline but how can I manage in case I have a 3d one?
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and it will not convert a p-line to revcloud .

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo you know how we have the snaps endpoint, perpendicular, midpoint etc. I want to find something like the snap "perpendicular."
Any way to start a line/pline then have it snap to another line at a 45° angle instead of perpendicular?
The only thing I could find was here

but I am not sure what all they are trying to do.
We have encountered problems when we are trying to plotting charts that have geo referenced png images in them. Some of images will have perpendicular lines going over the images, this will only appear in the plotted versions. The lines won't appear in preview or in the drawing nor in pfd plot.
