I am wanting to start using buildings in my art, what is the best way to do this? ... do i use the pen tool and cut the buildings out of an image or could i create the buildings from scratch?
View 9 RepliesI know how to crop pics to get rid of unwanted image, but how do you straighten up buildings which are 'leaning' over? I've got some pics of tall buildings and want to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the tops of them so that they look vertical cos they look a bit strange at the moment.

View 9 Replies View RelatedConsider a photo with the buildings are falling over backwards for the obvious reason. In Photoshop CS2 one could select Crop, click the “Perspective” box, then drag the top corners independent form one another to align them with some vertical lines in the photo. If there is no vertical line near the edge, one could temporarily drag the side of the crop tool to a vertical line before using the top corner to slant the vertical side of the crop tool to follow a vertical line in the photo. Then drag the two vertical sides of the crop tool back so that their bottom corners coincide with the bottom of the photo, double click, and your building has vertical sides. How can I do this in Elements 12?

I have experimented with the normal route of using walls and roofs with no luck, then I tried a conceptual mass, then I tried model in place component which is how I made the model below and that worked to get the exterior form I need, but I cant void the interior part of the crossing forms so I can finish the floor plan on the interior. I need to somehow erase the portion of the two buildings where they overlap so I dont have the interior wall of the smaller building. I use revit architecture 2010.

So, my question: how would I go about making one of these? What would I use to draw the buildings? (Line tool leaves jagged edges at 1 when trying to color.)

Unable to start application (0xc000007b).
I already tried several fixes like:
1. reinstall all redist(x64 & x86).
2. reinstall .Net 4.0
3. Use CCleaner for Registry error.
4. chckdsk for error and fix.still error so I've gone through this.
5. I uninstall Autocad 2014 completely, uninstall it manually one by one,deleted left over folder of autodesk or similar software to it, deleted its registry keys.just like the instruction on how to remove autocad completely in autodesk, I just followed it all. [after Reboot]
6 I Re-install it and still the problem persist.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a drawing of a jobsite. The jobsite has multiple buildings surrounded by water wells. Each well has a unique ID, ie MW-7. In model space everything is drawn at a 1:1 scale. The jobsite is quite large, and in layout view my scale is set to 1"=100'. Everything looks visually pleasing, text size, block sizes (symbol for the well location, etc.). However, I need to create a new layout that zooms into a particular portion of the site. I need my scale to be roughly 1"=50'.
My question is this: How can I set my drawing so that when I zoom into the area of interest, the block symbols and the well IDs stay the same size and don't crowd up the entire page? Otherwise my well IDs are huge! I think it might have something to do with annotative scaling, but I can't get it to work properly. This drawing is being done in AutoCAD 2012
I have a problem when designing one building in 3d. The thing is i want to create a 3d model made only out of 3d solids. So there is this complex ceiling, I made out of 3 meshes and above it, in the above floor, there's a non complex plate.

This meshes are made based on the actual dimensions of different sides of the floor, are unique and are good approximation of the actual building's ceiling. So, I want to make 3d solid that would have the same bottom shape and the same - even top as in the picture if the space between the objects would be filled out.
I need to be able to do simple floor plans for commercial and residential buildings, what version of autocad do I need?
Will autocad 2013 LT be good enough?

Whenever I open it, it gets to the "Starting 3DS Max 2012" screen and then freezes. The process freezes as well. Is there a way I can fix this? I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-Bit, and a Dual-Core Processor. My computer meets all the System Requirements except an insufficient video card.

I've tried to load the DLL from the acad.lsp but the DLL is loaded before AUTOCAD load the ribbon, then the dll is well loaded but my new ribbon is not displayed !.

I have a project involving 3 programs. I am creating a planned development in 3d to be 3d printed when finished. The project is a 5 acre tract containing 8 buildings. I have built the surface in C3D and each building in Revit. The buildings are not in the same Revit file. For my solid work, I will bring the files over into 3ds Max Design to section into smaller quadrants to build in the 3d printer.
The questions:
Would it be better to import the surface into Revit to merge surface and buildings together?
Would it be better to import the buildings into C3D to merge entities?
Would it be better to bring those entities into 3ds Max and then merge them into one? Will 3ds Max Design allow me to insert entities accurately in the environment?
I'm an architecture student who has high interest in 3d modeling.I would like to learn how to design something in a very organic form for a change.I can model very accurately and fast what I need on Autocad most of the time, but it seems like autocad 3d modeling is not the best tool to be using for modeling something very curvy and random.

So Basically, I want to be able to first sculpt the general exterior form I have sketched out or in my mind, and not only that, I would like to model the interior portions so I can have renders from inside the building. (Like the ons from the examples)
Although in architecture, 3D modeling comes into play after the 2d drafting, I don't think it's the same case for organic shapes. I would have a general layout sketched out on paper how the building would be formed, but not necessarily accurately measured. Then I would model the building to cut the sections through, and extract them out along with floor plans thus creating a very accurate orthographic drawings as well as gorgeous renders.or just poly edit with soft selection and other modifiers?
After running perfectly for months my CS5 will now not start from either the icons or the applications folder. I've done the following;
1. Uninstalled it.
2. Deleted all the relevant folders.
3. Run the clean up utility.
4. Rebooted the computer.
5, Reinstalled CS5.
6. Run the updater.
7. Restarted the computer.
Everything else (Bridge, RAW etc) works fine, and if I open the CS5 package and run the unix executable it fires up. The terminal window does say "No javatime present, requesting insatll", but I have the latest Java running on my machine. I'm running OSX on a 2012 imac i7. All software and drivers are upto date.
I get the message Photoshop.exe - System Error "The program can't start because QtCore4.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I've tried reinstalling Photoshop CS6 but the problem remains, together with the message.
