AutoCAD Map 3D :: Complex Linetype Displays As Dashes

I am working with Autocad Map 3D 2009. I just recently switched computers and I put all my custom shapes into the correct folder on my new computer (program files/autodesk/support) and my acad.lin in the correct folders. My custom complex linetypes were then working just fine.
Today, I open the drawing and all my custom complex linetypes are now dashed. I've checked my shape locations, I've checked my msltscale and my psltscale, tried reloading the linetype (it reloads and doesn't give me an error message about it being invalid). Why are my linetypes doing this???

I'm trying to create a linetpye .The line needs to be continuous with a solid(not hollow) circles at distances.This would be the same as FENCELINE1:
*FENCELINE1,Fenceline circle ----0-----0----0-----0----0-----0--
A,.25,-.1,[CIRC1,ltypeshp.shx,x=-.1,s=.1 ],-.1,1
but with filled-in circles.for example circles should be hatched or colored.An image of desired linetype is attached.

I have created a custom linetype using a shape & also added text. I have tried countless combinations to have a different spacing for the text, without affecting the frequency of the shape.
I want there to be no space between the shape, just repeating. But I want the text to display only once for every 4 times the shape repeats. Is this at all possible?
Every time I change the text spacing, I get huge gaps in the between the shape and it seems that their spacing cannot be independently controlled.

Is there anyway to line up the dashes of overlapping polylines so that when I have 2 or more dashed polylines on top of each other the polyline will still looks dashed. Because at the moment the dashes don't line up and the polyline appears as a solid line where they overlap.

Look at the picture. How can I scale the line to show the dashes?
If a draw a bigger rectangle the dashes shows up... Is it possible to set a measure for each space?

I have a drawing with two viewports. One needs to show topography. The other does not. When I freeze the surface layer in the second viewport, the contour lables leave behind a dash. It's on layer 0 so I can't VP freeze without losing other things.
Where do these dashes come from? They aren't a visible part of the contour label. They only show up when the surface is on a frozen layer. The only purpose they serve is to show where a contour label would be if the surface wasn't frozen.

I don't always want to replace a photo without warning. Sometimes I like to see the photos side by side. Windows convention uses parantheses for different versions of an image, which keeps the jpegs together and separate from tiffs or other raw images. But Lightroom uses a dash so I get, for example, 20120101-1.jpg. I need it to be 20120101 (1).jpg

The standard symbol for a stream on topographic maps is a blue line.
The standard symbol for an intermittent stream on topographic maps is a a blue line, with long segments interrupted regularly with a series of three dots. I can create a dashed line interrupted by two dots, but there aren't enough boxes for me to specify the third dot.

I would like to add the effect of hand stitched thread around some of my designs. The line tool can change a line to dashes but this is a bit too uniform for hand stitching. I have seen a tutorial on doing this in Photoshop where a brush is made with a few small different length strokes. this is then spaced out and made to follow a path. how to create a hand stitch effect using X5 that looks like natural hand stitching...

Ok it seems that I may be overlooking something simple. This is what I am currently dong. I have a detail sheet with several different scales. I want to use annotative dimensions and mleaders so I don't have to create the many dimstyles for different scales.
My set up:imagine a model space with 4 squares reprsenting 4 different scales. I start annotating in 1"=1'-0". Then I go to another detail at 3/4" = 1'-0". When I change my scale using that item in the lower right my annotations in the 1"=1'-0" also changes. I don't want it to change I want it to stay at 1"-0". How can I make it stay at 1'=1'-0" regardless of whatever other scale I have switched to?

I have changed our company template, the cable diagram on the left is displayed fine on the original template. It's also fine when I create a new paperspace in a drawing using the template.
However, when I send this to other people and they try and view the DWG on their computer the cable note within the box dissapears.....any clues people? CAD is so frustrating sometimes
I have PDF'd the template as I'm sure the cable note will be missing when you open the DWG.

I have a shape that happens to have many nodes; it was simple to extrude it (inventor saw it as a complete shape) but adding fillets is another story. each tiny segment requires a click to select it. is there any way to simplify this — either through simplifying the path somehow or by selecting the edge in some other manner?
i saw a thread on the forums about imported 2d vector files with a similar issue. I did import my file but it came from rhino. everything is fine except this one issue. i guess i could go back to rhino but i would prefer not to.

I am modeling an ASME pressure vessel with a 2:1 semi elliptical head upon which there must be a couple of lines of .375" trace tubing. I created a 3dpolyine that is the center line of this tubing, and joined all the segments into one so as to be able to sweep the whole thing and make one solid of the tubing run, but it simply will not sweep. I get a message this it is "unable to sweep the selected object." If I break the 3dpolyline, I can sweep parts of it, but the more complex the line segment, I again get the error message. I have attached a copy of the tubing centerlines.
The one on the left is the joined 3dpolyline, the one on the right is the 3dpolylines unjoined. (These were achieved using an intersection command of a rotated surface--the head profile--and an extruded surface--the tube tracing plan layout.) I have done this before, but only with the unjoined 3dpolyline, as in the right-hand example, but that is very time consuming as each segment must be swept. But I recently acquired a third-party LISP routine that joins the 3dpolylines into one. I'm thinking there must be a limitation on data of the 3dpolyline preventing the sweep, and wondering if there is a setting or system variable that will allow the more complex 3dpolyline to be swept.

I am tring to grade a complex object. Please see the attached document. The two grading objects are not interfacing correctly when graded although i can get the surface almost correct i beleive. Is there a way to remove this issue or the grading will not create a lot of difference when computing the volume clacs ( we are talking volum computation roughly about a million cubic metres cutting).

I need to beam complex P&IDs for client viewing. The drawings are in AutoCAD2012. I find it difficult to zoom and pan to the desired place. Beaming individual component P&IDs is also not an option as the client usually wants to see the enitre layout first. The entire layout, when beamed is unreadable without zooming. I was hoping for a solution similar to drilling down in databases (clubbing of data when we at the top levels and then the ability to view details when clicking on a particular cell); where only the important lines and symbols are shown at the top levels so that they can clearly be seen on beaming.

I can't post the original files, but I have gotten permission to post jpegs of what I am trying to do.
My end goal is to fill in between the grey part and the surface. The surface comes from another part in the assembly, and I used Copy Object to get the surface in this part file. Ideally I would like to do something like Extrude> To Next and select the surface as my terminator. I have done this with success with curved surfaces, but not complex curved surfaces. Does Inventor not handle extruding to complex curves?
Another option I tried was simply extending this part out beyond the surface using the Split feature to trim the part. Again, to no avail. I also tried creating a subassembly of this part and the part the surface is derived from with this part extending beyond the surface, deriving it and subtracting the surface part so I could use Delete Face with the Lump option. No dice there, either.
There was a hole in the side of the surface where I am trying to extrude the part (it is still open on the other side of the surface), but I used Patch and it seemed to fill it in just fine.

I'm having a problem with a model that is extremely complex. It contains a perforated grille. I've reduced viewres to 100 and turned off those layers along with freezing them and it I still can't adjust my view, perspective or visual style without it locking up. Is there any way to get the model to function? Would making the grille a block or xref work?
