I'm trying to update company title blocks, I have had success loading in the raster image and plotting a few.
Although everynow and then the image frame prints.
So I have checked,
IMAGEFRAME > is 2
FRAME > is 2
Can you think or know of any other varibles I might need to change in order to plot the raster without the frame?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use image insert to attach aerial photographs. I would like to use the FDO raster connection, but I keep having a problem with the raster image losing it's display order. I use "display order" in the display manager and move the raster to the bottom, but for some reason it keeps popping above the line work and I have to keep sending it to the back.
I put images in drawings quite frequently as they change from year to year and we monitor a large number of projects yearly. Is image insert still the quickest solution or is there a way to ensure the image will retain it's display order when I do a data connect?
What is the variable that controls the order in which objects are selected? In other words, I want to be able to always select the last object created by default when objects are overlapping without using object cycling.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
I have a drawing that refuses to plot the raster image when i plot to a PDF. It will plot the raster when I send it to the plotter. The raster is visible in the print preview. I've tried using the Adobe PDF driver and the DWG to PDF.pc3.
All I get is the line work.
Plot tranparency is off. Image is at Brightness 50, Contrast 50, Fade 0.

A DWG can be plotted to a "vector" PDF using DWG to PDF. Is there any way to plot, convert or save a DWG to a "raster" PDF?

In version 2010 I could create a PDF and the raster image would show up. We recently upgraded to Map 3D 2012 and although the raster shows up in the preview, it does NOT get plotted to the PDF.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAccording to the documentation the FRAME system variable overrides XCLIPFRAME, IMAGEFRAME, etc., has four valid values, 0, 1, 2, or 3, and its initial default value is 3. While editing a drawing, I set FRAME to 0, and then some time later, tried to set it back to 3. AutoCAD refused to accept this value, saying "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." Typing (SETVAR "FRAME" 3) at the command line also failed. The only way I could get it back to 3 was to use UNDO to go back to the default value. Is this a bug?

When I use a vector drawing with a raster map attached and print the layout with the DWG to PDF printer, all the vector elements looks perfect in the output pdf file, but the raster image is almost unreadable. It doesn't work if I increase print resolution and it looks if there would be some kind of default jpeg compression inside this printer but there aren't any settings to control it or simply turn it off. After plotting such a drawing on the HP plotter it is so awful that there is no use of such a file.

I get evenly spaced white stripes in raster images (inserted via insert or ole) Vector lines and text appear just fine on top of the image. I've tried changing the spooler location and image quality to no avail. I have attached a scan of the output I am getting.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo different plot settings (saved as page setups) will produce different results for exactly the same 34"x22" output. I have been bucking this problem since I started using AutoCAD C3D. I have a program to adjust the label scaling of my point labels so they are readable in both model space and layouts and when non-raster plotters are used, but now I must adapt it for other C3D labels before I can use them.
Below is my setup for plotting ANSI-D (34"x22") TIFF files at 288dpi. I have been using this plot device and setup almost exclusively since about 2001. The output is 9792 pixels x 6336 pixels which is set as a custom paper size to match my 288 dpi resolution (it is 288dpi because that is a multiple of 72dpi which is the default resolution of AutoCAD's TIFF raster output. It is 72dpi regardless of the fact that the plot scale is specified as 288 pixels = 1 unit or 288dpi). I must reset the dpi to 288 using image software so the resulting PDF will have a size of 34"x22" instead of 136"x88". You can see in the preview output I captured that their size difference cannot be attributed to these size differences. The plots are of the exact same layout showing point labels with only the page setup changed.

Following instructions from Autodesk as to how to install the Raster driver for image exports I installed "plotters" for JPEG, TIFF, BMP and PNG. None of them work. When I try to one of them, the result is a blank file about 39KB in size.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a raster image (JPG) on my title block for the Company Logo. This all worked fine in Revit 2009. Since I installed 2010 the logo no longer prints. I have tried other images and even converted it to a TIF.
It does not seem to be linked to any one printer. I have tried plotting on a HP Plotter, HP Laser Jet, Sharp Printer/ Copier, and even to a PDF. All have the same result. No Logo.
I have all of our .pc3 files on a server, and have created them in the order I would like to see them, however they come in a random order. I have moved them out of the folder, and back in the order I want with no luck. I tried renaming them with numbers in front, and then with letters in front to try and populate the list in a certain order. I only have 16 .pc3 files and MAXSORT is default at 6000.
We are using page setups as well which are not a problem, but the occasional time we need to print to a specific .pc3 file gets annoying having to sort through the list to find the one we want.
I Xreffed my Profile Border (title block) into paper space then xreffed my profile.dwg into the model space. When I plot, the gridlines from the border plot on top of the profile lines. Is there way to change the plot order of the Xref files?

2004 and how to turn "plot to file" off? Any time they go to plot the plot to file is already set and grayed out. It has been way too long since 2004 and I don't know where to have them look although I assume it is in Options somewhere.

When i print both plot in A3 format .. that blue plot look clear (scale = 277.3mm) , but the red plot (scale = 945.5mm).
When creating DVDs from sony mini DV tapes. I followed the lower field first, LFF, in capture and project settings and then for the properties in the burn phase.
On these new clips I have just created I could not find the field order for interlacing, so I used the 'trick' of creating a new project and inserting the clip into the project time line, then as UVS tries to match the project properties to those of the clip, I find from the propeties that the field order of the clip is "frame based".
This is intended for a PAL DVD so is this something I have to change to either UFF or LFF in the project property settings, or can I leave it as frame based. Will this impact the quality ?
What does it do for lacing when it is "frame based" ?
ps I believe this frame based busines is something to do with systems that do not use interlacing to fool the eye with 25 fps x 2 ~ 50 fps

I've tried using a SendStringToExecute but this doesn't work in the Sub Initialize .
Application.SetSystemVariable("ANNOAUTOSCALE", 4) doesn't work either as I guess it's more of a drawing specific variable.

Pressing the command button puts <Lineweight > in the command line.
The last problem I had to search for was to change lineweights

What is the point of Xrefs in 3ds Max if disabling the Xref does nothing to improve performance? Apparently everything in the disabled Xref is still calculated, because my viewport performance is crap. So I am reduced to deleting the Xref entry completely in order to get an acceptable interactive frame rate. This defeats the purpose of Xrefs. I might as well just Merge objects in and delete them when they're not needed.
This is 2013, I thought this sort of thing would have been dealt with properly by now. If the Xref is disabled, that means I don't want it to use ANY CPU time or ANY memory. As it stands, the value of Xrefs in 3ds Max is dubious at best.
Working in 2013 Raster Design. The commands for raster tools are not working. When attempting to insert an image the following message appears:
c:program filesautodeskautocad raster design 2013aeciibui56.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. Unknown command "IINSERT". Press F1 for help.
Similar messages appear when trying other commands located within the Raster Tools tab.
I've seen in previous thread's how to add a company logo to your title block/plot frame using a jpg file. Plus i've set the image parameters to 0 to remove the line around the image that appears. I've also set the transparency to "ON" - not sure if this is correct but did it anyway - i think.
My problem is that when I come to print it off - the logo appears with a slight background (very faint grey) when it should be just white. The logo is made up of black and red shapes with black text on a white background.
I've recently installed AutoCAD 2014 and noticed when I try to select objects behind a solid (in wireframe) it will select the face of the solid and I am not able to select any objects behind that solid. In the past, while in wireframe, I wasn't able to select a solid unless an edge was selected. Now if I click on a face it will select that item, which is not allowing me to select anything behind it. Is there a variable to change the way a solid is selected while in wireframe?

We have a lot of times where we place an assembly view to drive the title block and then place the child components for detailing. Too many time the assembly view gets forgotten until you are done detailing the other parts, now instead of the assembly name showing on that sheet it is the first part you inserted. I would like to be able to select a view and tell Inventor that I would like this view to be the first view instead so I don't have to copy and past everything from one sheet to another. I used to have some code that looked at that first view but I can't find it anymore.
