I Xreffed my Profile Border (title block) into paper space then xreffed my profile.dwg into the model space. When I plot, the gridlines from the border plot on top of the profile lines. Is there way to change the plot order of the Xref files?
View 4 RepliesI have just upgraded to 2012 and I am having a few issues with the title blocks I am creating. For some reason everytime I add attributes to the block they never come out in order. For example I create the title page, add the attributes using ATTDEF (job name etc) then I create the block and check my attributes using BATTORDER, I can arrange them using the up/down buttons which is fine. But as soon as I try to edit the attributes outside the block editor they are all out of order again! I have tried making the attributes in and outside of the block editor with no avail! And to make matters worse I have a jumpy mouse.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I input data into title block I want to go Field txt->custom and have some rows multiple, in repeating order, I don't have control over that.
Example:
I want:
first row: rev #,
second row: by,
third row rev #,
fourth row: by,
and so on.
Right now I created prompt line "rev (1)", "by (1)", "rev (2)" and so on, but this still wont show the right order in custom props.
I created a drawing in model space about 75' x 75'. Then created a title block drawing in paper space. Now would like to mesh the two so I can plot the drawing with title block. When I insert the title block drawing it is so tiny it can't be seen. What am I doing wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get an image within the area of a title block to appear on a plot. However, it will not plot when the drawing is plotted. The raster file is contain within the border when it is placed on the Paper Space and is recognized as a Raster Image when selected within the Paper Space. Why it will not appear on my plot. I am new to this version of AutoCAD 2012 and used Version 2000 previously but not for a couple of years.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMany times when I receive a drawing from an architect, when I go into the layout tab the titleblock info/XREF doesn't line up with the page layout. I would assume it lined up when the architect sent it to me in his software. For years the solution I use is to XREF the architects PDF in the layout and then go to print and change the Print Offset till it looked right in the print preview. Then I would apply it to the layout. I would then take the offsets and apply it to every sheet. This is a very time consuming process and was wondering if there is a better way to make this work and still keep the scales. I was also wondering if there was a way to move and align the layout on the fly in the paperspace.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've seen in previous thread's how to add a company logo to your title block/plot frame using a jpg file. Plus i've set the image parameters to 0 to remove the line around the image that appears. I've also set the transparency to "ON" - not sure if this is correct but did it anyway - i think.
My problem is that when I come to print it off - the logo appears with a slight background (very faint grey) when it should be just white. The logo is made up of black and red shapes with black text on a white background.
Is there a way i can insert a title block through the design center by selecting the the layout and dragging it in. When i bring it in it gives me just the blank paper without the title block.

The last time I asked the Autodesk technician, I was told it is a program (Autodesk) issue which I call a bug. I have tried the draw order and the Textofront still, no better result.
I'm having some difficulty in deciding how to go about creating a title block for my drawings. I have attempted to create the title block with Document fields from the drawing properties custom properties tab, and creating the same fields with information from the Sheet / Sheet Set fields. Both title blocks used attributes inside the block to house the fields, and both were .dwt files.
Is there a way to take the properties from the .dwt drawing into a newly created drawing, or is there a way to link custom sheet set properties with a newly created sheet set? The main goal is to not have the user manually input multiple custom fields either in the drawing properties or the sheet set manager of the new drawing.
Im wondering if there is a fast and atuomated way to insert a title block onto the layout tab throughout an existing project?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI made a 24 x 36 title block with attributes and saved it as a wblock.
1) When I inserted the title block into a 24 x 36 paper space, The titleblock does not fit. and the texts are messed up as well. The text are in in their respective places. What I did to create the title block is to basically created a title block border and then created the text. So, I made a block out of the borders and then a block out of the text then I made a block out of the whole thing (text and border). After i saved it as a wblock. When saving as wblock i chose entire drawing and once i chose object.
2) When I try to test plotting with this title block i made (even though it does not fit in) it does not show up in print preview.
How do I make some of the text Bold and others not? but keep them all same style?
I use Inventor 2013 regularly and only sometimes require the use of AutoCAD, mainly for 2D electrical layout drawings.
I have saved my drawing .idw template file from Inventor to a .dwg
Inserted it into AutoCAD .dwg
Saved as an AutoCAD .dwt
now the only issue that I have, is the image that I had embedded into the inventor drawing template, shows up as an icon instead of my compnay logo:
Is AutoCAD capable of showing images in a title block and hwo would I go about deleting the current icon image and replace it with the logo?
I tried deleting the current image in block editor but it won't let me select it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with Autocad LT 2010 where when I xref in my title block which has our company logo in color, the logo will only print in black and white. If i open just the title block and print it, it will then print in color. I only seem to have this problem when the title block is xref'd in. I downloaded the 2012 demo version of AutoCadLT and it prints just fine?This has just started happening when my computer was upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit.

When I open my title block, I cannot get a 3D assembly drawing to show as a 3D drawing in the title block on the layout tab. If I transfer the title block to the model space, it rotates to the same usc as the assembly drawing?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I insert a title block I get an "AutoCAD Error Aborting" message - FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0040 Exception at d69ac126h.
The title blocks have been working fine for months in ACAD2012, and I've even tried saving the drawing containing the blocks as an AutoCAD 2013 dwg to no effect.
The title blocks are 'home-made' and contain a mix of fields and attributes, could this be causing the problem?
The incorrect plotted logo is xref'd into a title block. It appears fine on a plot preview. The same titleblock is Xref'd into all other drawings with no problems. I have tried printing both directly from my desk to the printer, and plotting it to a file. I have tried PDFing it in both Bluebeam and Adobe. Bluebeam PDF has lines vertically, evenly spaced, throughout the entire drawing; Adobe is unexceptably blurring. I have purged and audited all the Xref's in the drawing as well as the drawing itself. I have even created a new drawing and rexref'd everything and brought the work over. Nothing has worked. There is nothing more frustrating then having all the work done but not being able to submit it. I already spent 2 days trying to fix this and the project goes out at the end of the week.

In this new job, 98% of our drawings are done in a single file with multiple layouts. I would like to set my template up so that things like Rev numbers and drawn by, and checked by etc., are updated in all layouts by changing just the first sheet. I also want to include a field for the drawn date so that it takes the current date (they want the drawn date to reflect the print date rather than the actual drawn date...)
I would like to incorporate attributes for things like checked by, engineer check, and such but make them so they don't appear unless you open the attribute editor.
I'm trying to edit an architectural Title Block. I've went into block editor and did attribute definitions. However, when I save it I can't insert it into a drawing. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have searched high and low and still could not find a tutorial to really explain how to create a drawing title with attributes (Detail Number, Sheet Number, Detail Title, Detail Scale). All I find are on creating dynamic block, which I could achieve, but I need one for a block that has (or will have) attributes.
I was able to find a tutorial on attributed door numbers, but it does not work for drawing titles that has attributes. GOAL: I would like to have all my seven drawing titles in one file and to be able to stretch the leg of any selected title to a desired length.
The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.
I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.
I have a title block inside my drawing and i want to link my title on the title of the file itself, so that if the title of the file was change, it will be change also inside the drawing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a title block and border which is used in MS. If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected. We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing. ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks. We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.
The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again. Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.
I have a block that i would like to scale based on the plot scale when plotting.
We set up our drawings full size and occasionally we want to plot them at half size. We do this by setting the plot scale to 1:2 (custom) in the plotting dialog. We have a few blocks that we want to print at the same size on paper, essentially become twice as big.
Is there is a way to fix the size or just set a few scale states and have them automatically adjust based on the plot scale (not drawing/annotative scale)?
