What is the variable that controls the order in which objects are selected? In other words, I want to be able to always select the last object created by default when objects are overlapping without using object cycling.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to update company title blocks, I have had success loading in the raster image and plotting a few.
Although everynow and then the image frame prints.
So I have checked,
IMAGEFRAME > is 2
FRAME > is 2
Can you think or know of any other varibles I might need to change in order to plot the raster without the frame?
When I select a tool such as brush or eraser the controls at the top of Illustrator do not change tot the tools setting there for I can not adjust the tools settings such as size, softness etc.... How do I fix this?

Whenever I click on the "show transform controls" under the move tool, the whole photograph I am working on disappears and I am left with the gray background. When I click it off, the image returns.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed AutoCAD 2014 and noticed when I try to select objects behind a solid (in wireframe) it will select the face of the solid and I am not able to select any objects behind that solid. In the past, while in wireframe, I wasn't able to select a solid unless an edge was selected. Now if I click on a face it will select that item, which is not allowing me to select anything behind it. Is there a variable to change the way a solid is selected while in wireframe?

There are no layers frozen in viewport, and I can't see any variables under properties that would affect visibility. It's part of a file from a subcontractor. I don't know how it was authored. I'm using LT 2012.

How do we use Vault with an outside vendor that controls a large ‘master layout’ directory of AutoCAD drawings that is given to us each week by way of FTP? How do we update the files in vault without having to check out dozens of files or folders then copy the new files (which often have missing xrefs that have to be fixed before Vault will accept them) into the working directory then check back in the files. This is way too time consuming and complicated to do on a weekly basis.
The simplest procedure we can think of looks like this:
1) Download new set of drawings.
2) Open these drawings in AutoCAD reference manager to fix/remove broken xrefs so Vault will accept them.
3) Check out the entire folder that needs to be updated from Vault
4) Paste the new drawings over the drawings in MyDocsVaultVendor
5) Check all the drawings in through Vault, solving any vaulting issues that may have been missed in the reference manager.
Is there a method to return an array of paths in the order they were selected, instead of their descending z-index (default behaviour)?
I'm writing a script that "connects" the centers of currently selected objects through a stroked path, and I want it to follow the order in which I select the objects, regardless of the stacking order.
i am new to LR with LR4 upgraded to LR4.1. I can import images from my hard drive photo folders but LR won't let me reorder them. I get the message "The currently selected source does not support custom order". Why is this? I find it strange that such a sophisticated product as LR doesn't allow the user to move images around within a folder, especially when it can be done easily in Bridge.

I have the surface as a rendered surface, but the pipe network is displaying under the surface (so it is invisible) and I was wondering if there was a way to have the pipe network display "thru" the surface so the engineer can see the pipe network with all the pipes drawn underneath the surface. Is this possible?

I've got a single machine with Autodesk Architecture 2012 that when I select a grip and move it, then type a dimension in the command line, that the line becomes the dimension I typed, not the amount I moved it. For example, If i have 10" line, select and end grip, stretch it +3 inches or -3 inches, the line becomes an absolute of 3 inches. On all other machines, the line would either become 13" or 7".

I am finding with certain types of fonts, mostly on architectural title sheets, that they get substituted to romans font.When I go to the Fontalt Setting Variable though and enter a period for no selection and then regen, all the 'missing" font regenerates and looks fine.
My question is why is the font not appearing properly in the first place? I must have the font if it is appearing properly.I don't want to have to reset the fontalt variable everytime I want to plot a drawing!
When I use the measure distance command, I have to exit out of the command before I move on to my next command. I'm used to measuring once and the command automatically exits (in previuos releases). Is there a variable that will exit the command after one measurement?

We are getting ready to deploy 2010 and I am writing a script to set some of the system variables on all the installs.
We have some users with 3rd party programs that won't run in 2010 yet so we will have a few people still running 2007 and 2008. I want to set the default File Save As in my script to 2007 format but I can't seem to find a variable to modify this.
In case I wasn't clear this is the setting found in Options, under the Open and Save tab, in the File Save section.
I need to show contour lines that have the elevations embedded in the line. Is there any way to create a line type that will allow me to select and/or change the text to be embedded in the line, without having to define a unique linetype for each elevation?

When I input a new height at the command prompt using 'textsize' the text height in the text style dialogue box does not automatically change to match. Also when I use the dtext or mtext command after changing the textsize value, these commands use the value in the text style dialogue box instead.
According to the documentation the FRAME system variable overrides XCLIPFRAME, IMAGEFRAME, etc., has four valid values, 0, 1, 2, or 3, and its initial default value is 3. While editing a drawing, I set FRAME to 0, and then some time later, tried to set it back to 3. AutoCAD refused to accept this value, saying "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." Typing (SETVAR "FRAME" 3) at the command line also failed. The only way I could get it back to 3 was to use UNDO to go back to the default value. Is this a bug?

When I attempt to change my user variable "xyz", a linear restraint, by 4 or more, I get an error message, "A dependent expression cannot be evaluated. The parameter is used in an expression which results in an invalid value for a dimensional constraint." But I can change the value by increments of two many times and exceed the limit of 4, and not get the error message. What is happening and how do I correct this issue?

I have a wipeout, which works fine on the array source, but when the array produces babies, it places them infront of everything (which is only logical), making the wipeout useless.
Can I set array babies to have the same draw order as their parent?

My company upgraded our AutoCAD from 2007 to 2009 this past Monday. I'm getting an error message when trying to change the order of objects in model space.

In upgrading to LR4 I wish to keep my process 2010 photos as process 2010. There is no need to redo them because the update pretty much forces you to start again with most processed photos.
My problem is that I now find that LR4 greys out the detail and color sliders for Luminance and color noise reductionas if they are process 2003 photos. That is, I do not have access to the detail and color for the noise reduction section.
I can only assume this is a bug or that Adobe have changed the Noise reduction engine.

I anticipate the need to save the data out to an external file/database but I am not sure what to save out as I believ the object ids are session dependent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running autocadlt and opening up a very detailed drawing by an architect which was likely drawn on the most recent version of the autocad. When i go to select a certain area of the plan, elevation views appear in the background as i drag my selection with the mouse. The elevation views are not visible in the plan in the model space. All layers are on and unfrozen.
I am a surveyor and am trying to import the plan into my survey program (which only accepts files in autocad 2007 or earlier anyway). When I open the file in the survey program, for some reason the elevation views are showing and can not be turned off.
I tried to use the command erase, then "all" it tells me "2891 objects found, 19 not in current space". Does that have anything to do with it?
I have gone into the layer manager and selected all the layers and turned them on, and have unfrozen them
Did the proxygraphics command as well
Could it be because autocadlt???
