AutoCAD LT :: LT14 Startup Screen Won't Go Away?
Jun 4, 2013Even though I have unchecked the 'Show at startup' box, the Startup dialog loads every time - is there some other way of preventing it from appearing?

AutoCAD LT :: Blue Screen Of Death At Startup
Jun 15, 2012One of my end users reports to me that his computer has been crashing. We soon learn that it crashes every time he starts AutoCad LT 2006.
What I have done so far is completely removed autocad and all associated programs. Reinistalled, installed a newer version (Autocad LT 2007), upgraded to the latest bios and firmware on the machine. Replaced the RAM, and just about everything else under the sun and this machine still crashes every time you start auto cad. I asked the user when the last time was that it worked and he said he was using it about a month ago just fine.
I installed the program on my identical laptop and it works just fine.
I ran the BSOD via Kernel mode through WinDBG and it points to ACPI.SYS. Being that this is a heavy system driver file, need getting this program to actually work short of me reinstalling the entire OS on the machine? The stop error is the 0x00000050 memory error.
AutoCAD 2013 :: 2014 Crash On Startup Screen
Jul 10, 2013I recently gave my windows a factory restore (fresh start windows original copy), I had no issues with autodesk software before the windows fresh start (i use Revit and 3Dmax too), i even installed and used Autocad 2014 on my laptop before the restore and it ran just fine, problem is now after the windows restore Autocad crashes everytime i open it, installation was smooth and succesfull with no error warninings whatsoever; the problem comes when i start Autocad 2014 for the first time, the initialization window opens and starts loading the files but then (everytime) crashes and freezes my laptop forever, not even the task manager is posible to open
My Specs:
Laptop: Alienware M14x R2
Processor: intel i-7 @2.30 ghz
16 gb RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 650M 2GB
running on Windows 7 64-bit
after the restore i downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, so that shouldnt be the issue, i also switched the processing tu GPU only.
i already tried lots of solutions i saw on other posts, but none seems to suit my need, i tried the .NET framework thing, switching off the windows Aero theme, but the problem remains the same, it still freezes completely my laptop everytime i try to run Autocad 2014, i even tried installing Autocad 2013, Autocad 2011 and Revit 2014 but the issue is the same in all of them they freeze at startup without any pop up error warnings, just freezes.

May 3, 2011I know that this sounds petty, but when i open up Autocad 2011 the grid is small and doesnt fill the entire screen like it use to or like it does in class. What settings should i check and change?

The /nologo switch is for a different screen. Need per user or prefer per computer registry setting to turn off the Welcome Screen.
Thought it was InfoCenteron key,set to 0, but that was not it.
Thought it might be MC3 key, but not there either.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Expired Subscription - It Hangs On Startup Screen

I have Autodesk Inventor 2013 Design Suite. Everything has been working fine until my subscription ran out. Inventor has been hanging on the startup screen since then (this may just be a coincidence) most of the time it take between 15 minutes to 30 minutes to open. When it does open everything works fine.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Autodesk Privacy Policy / Welcome Screen On Every Startup
Dec 19, 2013I just upgraded 17 workstations to Product Design Suite 2014.
On one of the workstations, the Autodesk privacy policy and the welcome screen pop up on every startup. I even tried running it as administrator first, but no matter what I do, those screens keep popping upm highly annoying for the user.
I already uninstalled and reinstalled the entore product design suite, this did not solve the issue.
Illustrator :: CC Crashes At Startup Promo Screen
Jan 19, 2014I installed Mavericks and decided to update to Illustrator CC. It downloaded fine and when I went to launch it it opened up to the promo screen showcasing the new features like rounded corners and the segment editing tool etc. When I go to click the "Done" button Ai CC crashes. Nothing I do resolves this. So I ran uninstall and re-installed it and the same exact thing happens every single time.
A few points of fact:
- I have NO PLUGINS installed for Ai CC
- I do have Ai CS5 installed (Need this to access old art in my archive that is FreeHand format)
- I have Ai CS6 installed (Because most of my clients aren't on Ai CC yet)
- Photoshop CC works fine
- MUSE CC works fine
I uninstalled Ai CC again and the past two days had a MAC IT specialist come in and clean up my entire system to make sure it's in perfect condition before I downloaded and tried to install Ai CC again. My system hasn't been this fine tuned since I installed Mountain Lion, everything is working great.
I tried to install Ai CC again and the exact same thing happened it crashes at the promo screen. When I go and click the "Done" button the beach ball spins and the whole app goes down. Every single time with no exception.
Ai CS6 works fine, no problems at all.

The inane "Adobe Customer Care" on twitter isn't cutting it with their scripted responses that solve nothing and blame everything on the user.
This is really getting old and I've wasted two days of work time because what should be simple, simply is not.

Apr 16, 2013 CS4 Extended. Early 2008 iMac 24", 4 GB RAM, updated to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.3 in Dec 2012.CS4 (11.0.2) was working fine with no issues until 2 weeks ago. The startup splash screen loads and displays messages about various tools being loaded....
However, it does not go beyond: "Reading Color Settings...." and I get the spinning color ball if the cursor is over the splash screen and a blue spinning ball when the cursor is outside the splash screen.Have to use "Force Quit" to get out of the program.Adobe Acrobat Reader also does not work. Upgraded from Adobe LightRoom LR2 to LR4 and that works fine!
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalled Acrobat Reader and CS4 Rebooted the computer Re-installed CS4 (legit copy and have serial #) Re-installed Reader Checked for updates on Adobe site and updated CS4 to 11.0.2 Rebooted the computer Started CS4..... Got to the same step "Reading Color Settings..." and the programs hangsThought that some crucial file(s) in the System may have been damaged/corrupted, so...Re-installed Mountain Lion to potentially remove/overwrite damaged filesRebooted the computer Launced CS4 and got the same results as in step 7 above
AutoCAD Inventor :: 2013 Dual Screen - Jumping Browser From Right Screen To Middle Of Left Screen
Jun 3, 2013I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.

Feb 24, 2012I had been using AutoCAD 2012 x64 w/SP1 for quite a few months with no issues. A week or two ago I went to open a drawing and the program locked up. I tried opening AutoCAD via the desktop shortcut and directly from acad.exe and it locks up immediately. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2012, but the issue persisted. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any service packs. I normally don't use Windows Update and hadn't downloaded any updates prior to these issues, but I did it to see if it would fix the issue and it did not. I uninstalled 2012 and installed AutoCAD 2011 x64 only to have the same exact issue. I have an old version, AutoCAD 2002 that works fine, but my job always receives drawings not saved in 2000, and my convert tool sometimes fails to convert them to a version I can open. May 29, 2011 When starting acad with Startup set to 0 or when launching from a drawing on file, I do not have any problems, however, when Startup is set to 1, not only does the startup menu appear as a blank pop -up, but the AutoCAD splash screen just hangs without the program launching.
Could it be due to the fact that I am running a 64 bit System?

AutoCAD Architecture :: Toolpalettes Disappear On Startup?
Oct 25, 2011I though maybe this was a 2010 issue, but here I am in a brand new 2012 setup and experiencing the same problem. For some reason, my toolpalettes disappear on startup and sometimes when switching between projects. I have my workspace saved with the following anchored to the left side of the screen: Properties, External References, Layer manager, Project Navigator
Design Center, and Toolpalettes. When I close Acad (or it closes itself) and restart, sometimes the tool palettes are there and sometimes not. All of the other palettes are there save that one. They also have a habit of reordering themselves if you pin one open and the minimize it it drops to the bottom of the page. Very annoying when you think your PN is at the top, and it isn't, but i digress.
I am working with Windows 7, 64bit, dual screens. This happens with equal frequency in both 10 and 12. (Working in 12 to develop rollout for office and working out kinks. No I do not run them both at the same time.)
One more clue, I noticed in the command history that TOOLPALETTES loads and is followed imediatly by _ToolPalettes.

May 22, 2012Is there anyway to stop AutoCAD executing the command used to create a palette upon AutoCAD startup?
I know constructing the palette without a GUID prevents this behaviour but I'd like keep this to preserve the palette size, position, state etc given when a GUID is provided.
I had hoped I could just close / make not visible the palette just before AutoCAD exits and it wouldn't try and restore the palette upon the next AutoCAD started. I've tried doing this in the Application.BeginQuit event but the command is still called the next time AutoCAD is started.

Feb 24, 2012I have been given a new lap top plus the updated AutoCAD rev. 2012.Supposedly it is superior to my old laptop but... it runs slower, the mouse action is awful, it's like stirring cold porridge.
Anyway, I have spent the first week battling with various bits, trying to get it to look & feel like my previous laptop using 2010.
The big issue I have is upon start up. Rather than loading the standard AutoCAD "drawing 1" regardless, I want to have the browser open up so I can select the' previous drawings loaded on my last session or select a new drawing or browse folders to find the drawing I want.
how I managed to switch this on, back when I managed it on 2010 version.I have given up on running up & down the menus.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Crash After Changing Startup Value?
Mar 18, 2013I changed the 'startup' value from 1 to 2 in ACA 2012, now program crashes. On start up it displays the first error message 3 times (see attached), then opens a blank drawing. Once a select a file it displays the second message 70 times then opens the drawing. After a few seconds a fatal error message is displayed and program closes.
Error messages are the same other than address location changes.
I have tried a repair and a reinstall to no avail.

Set STARTUP to 2, and make sure the Sheet Set Manager palette is visible.
Close Civil 3D, then restart it.
It should open in a zero-document state, with the SSM palette visible.
Now open a sheet set, and double click on a sheet in the SSM to open it.
When I do this, I get four "Unhandled Exception" dialogs in a row, then C3D disappears (crashes!)
