AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2013 - Hangs On Startup
Aug 15, 2012Looks like something to do with 360 is cause C3D2013 to hang on startup. I have to kill the AcSettingSync.exe service to in Resource Monitor to make 2013 un-freeze.

Sep 3, 2013Expired Subscription - Inventor Hangs on startup screen.
I have Autodesk Inventor 2013 Design Suite. Everything has been working fine until my subscription ran out. Inventor has been hanging on the startup screen since then (this may just be a coincidence) most of the time it take between 15 minutes to 30 minutes to open. When it does open everything works fine.
System is

Version 2003
Service Pack 2
Intel Core Duo CPU
2.98 GHz, 8.00 GB Ram
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Fatal Error Upon Startup Of 2013?
May 11, 2012I have a Win7 X64 PC running C3D 2103. I recelty installed this for the first time and am seeing the following error message when I launch the application.
I've tried to do a repair and still get the message.

Feb 4, 2013On opening a C3D 2013 drawing, C3D hangs for about 5 minutes. At the bottom of the screen is the message: "Upgrading COGO points". This drawing is only 974KB.
The drawing is being opened from a network . I tried saving it on a local hard drive. That had no effect.
GIMP :: 2.8 Windows Hangs On Startup
May 14, 2012I installed Gimp 2.8 for Windows tonight on an XP SP3 system and it hangs for more than 30min when starting (never completes initializing). Gimp 2.8 takes 50% CPU and 184Mb RAM and sits "Gathering Data" with no further progress. I end up killing the process.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled into a fresh directory with no change. I gave up and tried to reinstall 2.6 and get almost the same issue except RAM usage goes up to 550Mb and it sits at the startup screen.
Lightroom :: 4.4 Hangs On Startup After Update From 4.3
Apr 16, 2013I updated from LR 4.3 to LR 4.4 and now I can't start lightroom. It hangs at startup with the LR info tile displayed over the main window. This is on Windows 7 64 bit. Windows also has a hard time killing the app/process. Is it possible to safely downgrade to 4.3 ?

Jun 19, 2012Splash screen shows components loading, until it gets to LAYERS ("Preparing working environment.... LAYERS") and it just hangs.
I've tried doing a repair; uninstalling and re-installing. Nothing works.
The program was working fine for months and it just started doing this. No new hardware or software has been installed. Even did a system restore to a time when I know it was working, in case there was some Windows or driver update.

Sep 4, 2012Just installed product design suite 2013 without issue, however when I try to run Inventor 2013 it hangs at the splash screen.
The only way to exit is to kill the Inventor process. Other applications with in the design suite run fine ACAD, Fusion etc.
I did read a post about a windows security update causing this, but I do not have the offending update loaded so it can't be this.

Oct 10, 2013Open a new file and things work fine.Open a sheet set in Sheet Set Manager and every 60 seconds for 25 seconds AutoCAD hangs.Unplug the network connection and it runs fine.Hangs even if Sheet Set is on Local DriveTime of hang is dependent on when AutoCAD starts not dependent on when Sheet Set is opened.Do not have to have a file in the sheet manager loaded.Don't have to be doing anything. Can leave cursor on screen and still happens like clockwork.Turned off all sync to AutoDesk 360.

Apr 3, 2013I'm using Autodesk Inventor Pro 2013.
I have a middle complexity model, with several decals (,jpg, Using Mask), projected to different parts. When I start Studio, and start rendering, Inventor hangs. The render window opens, but it freezes on Translating and soon both of the windows are not answering. I've checked th CPU. Inventor uses around 1G of ram, during regular use. When I start rendering, slowly it goes up around 5,5G, and eventually the Windows freezes. Rendering the same model without a decal works fine.
I've installed all the Windows updates, and the Inv2013 1.1 Service Pack. Nothing worked.

AutoCAD 2013 :: 2014 - Not Responding At Startup
May 18, 2013I have been trying to install and run a student version of AutoCAD 2013 on my computer and it keeps crashing/freezing at the first startup after installation, and never works after that. Installation is all fine and smooth. Starting the program however takes a few seconds to load the plugins then it hangs at the loading screen forever. I've tried turning off the loading screen but the program itself just crashes and appears to be "Not Responding" anyway. I've tried uninstalling all Autodesk products and only install AutoCAD 2013 but it's still not working.
As for my computer, it runs Autodesk Inventor 2014 very well. Specification-wise:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel Xeon E31220 3.10GHz
RAM: 16GB
NVIDIA Quadro 600
AutoCAD 2013 :: DWG Loads To 75% Then Hangs - Causes Message / Memory Low / Loss Of Work
Feb 8, 2013I was placing final touches on paper space viewports (changing transparency settings etc), after wrapping that up, saved. Then tried to Publish. That's where things went downhill, drawing/publishing froze, forced to restart, now the drawing only loads to ~68 - 75% and hangs / freezes. Eventually, I get a message box stating that AutoCAD physical memory low, continuing will result in data loss. Task Manager claims AutoCAD is running @ ~98% (650Mb).
I can upload the drawing to AutoCAD WS and open it on my iPhone/iPad, but the 3D viewports are limited in detail.
Tried opening on a MAC and the same thing happens.
Tried clearing the Cachemax/cachemaxtotal, still nothing...
AutoCAD 2013 :: Template Drawing Which Opens On Startup
Sep 11, 2012I am looking to change the way AutoCAD starts, in particular, the template drawing which opens on startup.
I want to force the user to open a template rather than have one open automatically for them, as we have many different clients all with different standards.
I tried deleting all the template files as an experiment… but somehow a blank template still loaded. How can I force AutoCAD to make the user select a template upon initial load rather than have the default template load automatically?

May 1, 2012Every so often when I open 2013 inventor it freezes at the startup window. the "progress bar" at the bottom gets about 75% across, then freezes. If I click on the window it, a dialog box appears that will let me close the program or check online for a solution. It has happened on all 7 machines here.

Jul 10, 2013I recently gave my windows a factory restore (fresh start windows original copy), I had no issues with autodesk software before the windows fresh start (i use Revit and 3Dmax too), i even installed and used Autocad 2014 on my laptop before the restore and it ran just fine, problem is now after the windows restore Autocad crashes everytime i open it, installation was smooth and succesfull with no error warninings whatsoever; the problem comes when i start Autocad 2014 for the first time, the initialization window opens and starts loading the files but then (everytime) crashes and freezes my laptop forever, not even the task manager is posible to open

Processor: intel i-7 @2.30 ghz
16 gb RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 650M 2GB
running on Windows 7 64-bit
after the restore i downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, so that shouldnt be the issue, i also switched the processing tu GPU only.
i already tried lots of solutions i saw on other posts, but none seems to suit my need, i tried the .NET framework thing, switching off the windows Aero theme, but the problem remains the same, it still freezes completely my laptop everytime i try to run Autocad 2014, i even tried installing Autocad 2013, Autocad 2011 and Revit 2014 but the issue is the same in all of them they freeze at startup without any pop up error warnings, just freezes.

The /nologo switch is for a different screen. Need per user or prefer per computer registry setting to turn off the Welcome Screen.
Thought it was InfoCenteron key,set to 0, but that was not it.
Thought it might be MC3 key, but not there either.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Switching To Model Space Hangs
Dec 2, 2011I am having some troubles with Civil 3d. I went from a 32-bit windows XP machine with 4 gigs of ram and a dual core 2.8 GHz processor with an older radeon graphics card to a 64-bit windows 7 machine with 16 gigs of ram, core i7-2600 (3.4 GHz) quad core processor, and an nvidia quadro 4000 2GB graphics card and I thought my life would be easy. But apparently great hardware will not solve all of my software issues.
When I try to switch to model space from paper space in C3D 2012 (sp1) it hangs for maybe 5 minutes before finally switching over. I have only worked on two drawings with the new machine, but it does it on both. And not every time, just half the time in one drawing and most of the time in the other.

Feb 23, 2012When I start to draw my polylines to cogo points I have inserted in my drawing it keeps wanting to hang up when I hover over the point. I have set up my point styles to bring in our points with all the attribute information so I am thinking it keeps trying to read all that info as soon as my mouse hits it..
I saw a post about rollovertips but that did not change anything. Any ides what might be causing this? Im using Civil3D 2011.

Set STARTUP to 2, and make sure the Sheet Set Manager palette is visible.
Close Civil 3D, then restart it.
It should open in a zero-document state, with the SSM palette visible.
Now open a sheet set, and double click on a sheet in the SSM to open it.
When I do this, I get four "Unhandled Exception" dialogs in a row, then C3D disappears (crashes!)

I have this issue with 2 installations of Civil3D 2011-64 bit. I have 2 monitors. When first starting up, while Civil3D is loading, if I move to the other monitor and do any activity with the mouse, once civil3D is loaded, it is frozen. I can't do anything with it and need to use Task Manager to close it. If I just leave the mouse alone until Civil3D completely loads, then I'm fine. Just a minor annoyance, but have never experienced it with earlier versions.

AutoCAD LT :: Grip Select Hangs?
Jan 20, 2010I am running AutoCAD LT 2008 and have started having a problem with a 2 to 3 second hang time when I select the grips on an object. The mouse just freezes up for a few seconds. It doesn't happen when I am in a command and select the object because the grips are not activated then. I have upgraded my graphics driver and reinstalled AutoCAD, with no improvement.
