I have created a drawing called xsec. I xrefed the corridor drawing into it and data shortcut the alignments in as well. I created sample lines and cut my cross sections in the drawing. Everything at this point looks fine.
The problem happens when I create a new drawing and xref the xsec into it. In this new drawing only the right side of my cross sections is showing up. I want to use this drawing for my sheet set rather than have a bunch of tabs in the xsec drawing.
I have sevreal corridors with various spurs. The contractor wants the cut/fill volume in sections along the corridors, not one big cut/fill calc. Is there a way to do this in C3D? I have got the volume table with the chainages on, but he does not want a cumulitive figure for the whole corridor.
We have created sections from our corridor. We see FG and EG, we can use bands for EG from surface. How do we get the FG band to show the elevations for FG? The only option we have is the EG surface. We have tried to create a surface form the corridor in the corridor properties but that surface still doesn't show up in the surface list in the bands. I would have thought this info would be dynamic and come directly from the corridor would it not?
I have a corridor with 2 intersections. It is more or less like a main road with an off-ramp and an on-ramp, both on the same side, with a big triangle shape island in between them. It involves an existing road widening and a connection with another existing road. Since it is a real scenario, the intersections aren't perfect 90 degrees nor the offsets are constant.
Create Western intersection and change offset and curb return targets to design aligments.Create Eastern intersection and change offset and curb return targets to design alignments.Model the corridor as per design requirements.Due to design constraints, I ended up removing both intersections. I didn't delete all the offset and curb return alignments although they're not targeted on any region. Deleting this alignments seems to make C3D crash. the actual intersection definition hasn't been removed, as I read on other threads. I kept on getting a couple of error messages on Panorama Event Viewer every time I rebuild the corridor.
So, the problem comes when I try to output the cross sections from this nice looking corridor. They all look fine until they reach the intersection area. From the intersection onwards, the corridor is not displayed on any cross section. Even way passed the western intersection.
Why the corridor doesn't display on the cross sections passed the deleted intersections?I have a bad feeling that removing the intersection wasn't a good idea in the first place but it's too late now.
Section editor shows the Existing Ground and the Assembly correctly. But "Create Multiple Views" Shows a blank Grid from -10 to 0..... Corridor rebuilt...
I have a drawing with some cross sections of road showing the Proposed road surface and Existing ground surface. Now we have received a new ground surface and we have to supersede the old ground surfae with the new one. is there any way to swap the surface in the existing cross sections?
I have a corridor with two baselines, one on the south side of the road, and one on the north side. The south baseline appears correctly in the section view. It is an asphalt bike trail with a ditch to the left side. The north baseline was not appearing at all. The assembly was just a ditch with nothing else. I changed the north baseline to use the same assembly as the south to troubleshoot. The pavement comes in, but the ditch still does not appear.
I can see the ditch feature lines on my corridor (see attached), but they are not appearing in the section view.
I have created a proposed centerline along my existing roadway, which represents along my profile. I have created an assembly for my proposed raod with a crown, and a 2% cross-fall in each direction.
But when I generate my sections, all my proposed assemblies show up in the proper location on my section views, except there is no cross-fall showing on any of them? They are all being shown in my sections as dead flat! 0%? I've been looking for a setting to change this.? I have also deleted, and recreated my corridors and regenerate my sections, only to get the same results!
I have an existing surface. I created an alignment and have managed to make "multiple cross" section out of the surface without making corridor and its fine. Now, the problem is I cannot finding any option to make report out of these sections. I need those report very soon..I have even attached th dwg file which contains all the data.
I have a corridor drawing with my corridor and have sample lines ever 25 feet. I would like to generate my sections in a seperate drawing. Is this possible?
(I am trying to keep different pieces to my project in different drawings.)
We have an urban divided highway resurface and widen project. We have an eastboiund and westbound corridor we would like to get to display on our single set of cross sections
We originally set up our corridor to do the widening and ditches portion and then went on to do the work to set up the model to do the resurfacing. When we did the sections for the ditches only they displayed fine. Now that we have the resurfacing incorporated into it the ditches no longer display.
we have reviewed the targets of our assemblies, we have reconstructed the cross sections, to no avai. The software is not doing us any good right now. Need to get smarter
I have added intermediate sample lines in my corridor. These sections appear in the section editor and I can make changes to the data. The changes show correctly in the section editor and section view, however, when I plot the cross sections some of these added stations do not show the overrides. They are showing the original assembly group parameters. How do I get all the cross sections to reflect the edited data from the section editor?
How can you force the rebuild of a corridor in C3D 2014 even if the corridor thinks it is up to date? (no yellow exclamation shield icon).
We have .NET subassemblies that react to changes in the location of objects in XRef'd files.
In C3D 2012 when we changed the XRef'd objects position, we would right click the corridor and select rebuild and the subassemblies would rerun (no matter what).
In C3D 2014 if you select rebuild, the corridor does nothing if it thinks nothing has changed.
I can stumble a bit, and have reasonably competent in the ACAD side of it. but here's my issue: existing grade was created in a separate office (by a non-c3d guru) and the surface drawing was shipped up to the remote office. There's nothing in the drawing except the surface (created from GIS contours) and the contour labels. Layers for major and minor and labels are all on, not frozen, visible, and none are set to non-plot. (C-TOPO-MAJR, C-TOPO-MINR, C-TINN, C-TOPO-TEXT)
This file is XREFed into modelspace in a sheet file that has a half-dozen tabs, two to three vports per tab. In some of the viewports, not all by any means, either none of the contour lines show up, or only some of them do. There are no per-viewport over-rides, and all layers are on, thawed, and plottable. In the area where the contour lines fail to show up, the contour labels do.
I have been trying to install and run a student version of AutoCAD 2013 on my computer and it keeps crashing/freezing at the first startup after installation, and never works after that. Installation is all fine and smooth. Starting the program however takes a few seconds to load the plugins then it hangs at the loading screen forever. I've tried turning off the loading screen but the program itself just crashes and appears to be "Not Responding" anyway. I've tried uninstalling all Autodesk products and only install AutoCAD 2013 but it's still not working.
As for my computer, it runs Autodesk Inventor 2014 very well. Specification-wise:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Intel Xeon E31220 3.10GHz RAM: 16GB NVIDIA Quadro 600
I recently gave my windows a factory restore (fresh start windows original copy), I had no issues with autodesk software before the windows fresh start (i use Revit and 3Dmax too), i even installed and used Autocad 2014 on my laptop before the restore and it ran just fine, problem is now after the windows restore Autocad crashes everytime i open it, installation was smooth and succesfull with no error warninings whatsoever; the problem comes when i start Autocad 2014 for the first time, the initialization window opens and starts loading the files but then (everytime) crashes and freezes my laptop forever, not even the task manager is posible to open
after the restore i downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, so that shouldnt be the issue, i also switched the processing tu GPU only.
i already tried lots of solutions i saw on other posts, but none seems to suit my need, i tried the .NET framework thing, switching off the windows Aero theme, but the problem remains the same, it still freezes completely my laptop everytime i try to run Autocad 2014, i even tried installing Autocad 2013, Autocad 2011 and Revit 2014 but the issue is the same in all of them they freeze at startup without any pop up error warnings, just freezes.
I have created a surface from a corridor. I set the boundary of the surface to the daylight of the corridor. In some areas of the corridor the surface does not triangulate see attached.
Copy a corridor successfully? I'd like to try this just a little worried about the explosion of evil this may cause to my Civil 3D session.
Even all the properties of the corridor setup from one to another would be useful. I'm building one corridor and an 2nd one that matches everything except I need to replace my Assembly with one meant for stripping.
My corridor surface is not matching my corridor top links. see attachments. this is affecting my volumes!
The section-plan(surface red).png is showing the section editor and the plan view. the red highlighted line in section is the corridor surface and as you can see in plan view the surface is incorrect and wiggly.
The pdf is all my sections with the red linework being the corridor surface.
We have survey files that we xref into our design files. In the survey files themselves, the points don't change color. When we xref them in, the point markers (only the circular node on the actual point, not the line coming off of it) take on the color of whatever the current layer is in the drawing, only fixable by changing the current letter and regenerating.
I am trying to work on a previous file in my office, and when it opens on mycomputer, it does not display as it should.
In general, the purpose of the project is to reinstate the side slopes of a road abutting a river. Cut & fill sections have been generated on 20m station increments along the road corridor/surfaces in order to calulate cut and fill as well as to reference the design to flood levels.
When I open the file, all of these sections (and there are alot) have relocated themselves to various locations in model space, none of which are aligned with the viewports that are being used for printing.
Could it be software and/or hardware incompatibility with the computer they were originally created on? (I believe it was created with C3D 2010, or C3D 2011 - I am currently running 2012)
I want to bring a base drawing (drawing A) into another drawing (drawing B), but have it screened (say, at 35%) so that the information overlaid onto it in drawing B (unscreened) is brighter, and darker, so that it pops out, and that drawing A appears as just a background. I want the lineweights of drawing A (assigned in the CTB file) to remain thick and thin, but just to plot with a screened value. How can that happen? So far, I have just assigned xrefed-in layers a thin lineweight, which might work, but would prefer that the xrefed-in layers retain their thickness but appear shaded. I feel like I did this years ago, but how to accomplish this.
Looks like something to do with 360 is cause C3D2013 to hang on startup. I have to kill the AcSettingSync.exe service to in Resource Monitor to make 2013 un-freeze.
