View 2 Replies View Related CS4 Extended. Early 2008 iMac 24", 4 GB RAM, updated to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.3 in Dec 2012.CS4 (11.0.2) was working fine with no issues until 2 weeks ago. The startup splash screen loads and displays messages about various tools being loaded....
However, it does not go beyond: "Reading Color Settings...." and I get the spinning color ball if the cursor is over the splash screen and a blue spinning ball when the cursor is outside the splash screen.Have to use "Force Quit" to get out of the program.Adobe Acrobat Reader also does not work. Upgraded from Adobe LightRoom LR2 to LR4 and that works fine!
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalled Acrobat Reader and CS4 Rebooted the computer Re-installed CS4 (legit copy and have serial #) Re-installed Reader Checked for updates on Adobe site and updated CS4 to 11.0.2 Rebooted the computer Started CS4..... Got to the same step "Reading Color Settings..." and the programs hangsThought that some crucial file(s) in the System may have been damaged/corrupted, so...Re-installed Mountain Lion to potentially remove/overwrite damaged filesRebooted the computer Launced CS4 and got the same results as in step 7 above

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to change the image for the splash screen? I've attached a screen shot. I'd like to edit the screen to show a company logo.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI DO NOT want to deface the splash screen, but just add our company logo.
I was able to edit the Illistrator CC just fine.
i have two laptops that i've downloaded the CC to and one has Windows 7 the other Windows 8.
i installed the CC on my newer W8 laptop a couple months ago and noticed that the Splash screens are different for Ps & Ia than the ones on my older Win 7 laptop.
i've also noticed there are some new things in Ps on my newer computer like the ability to Sync Preferences, more Fonts and the Properties panel has some new cool features but no matter how many updates that come for Ps on my older Windows 7 computer it doesn't have the newer features.
must i uninstall Ps & Ia to get these cool new features on my older computer too? if so, wouldn't i would lose all my plugins, styles, custom shapes etc.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy autocad always starts up with 2 layout tabs available on the drawing. In the template that I have created only one layout tab is available and if I create a new drawing according to that template after startup, only one layout tab is available. The template that I have created is set as the basic template for autocad, so it starts up using this template.
Now I want autocad to startup with only one layout tab available.
I need to make some text with the reference image, what effect I should use for that dotted splash look.

Is there any way to choose which splash screens pop up in AC?
I spend way too much time every day, every week, every year telling the program that yes, I'm aware that I've just turned off the current layer, and yes, I want the program to do what I've just told it to do, etc.
We've got Inventor running on about 12 Win7 x64 machines in a lab and recently one of them has started acting up. Inventor will not get past the splash screen. The Windows event log only says "app hang."
I've tried uninstalling Inventor and manually removing any trace of it I could find from the C: drive and the registry and reinstalling to no luck.
How do you turn on/off the splash screen?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have an engineer running Inventor 2012 (Premium Suite) on a Windows 7, 64-bit machine.
He's experiencing an issue where once he starts Inventor, it doesnt proceed past the splash screen.
If I then log onto his machine, Inventor loads fine without a problem.
If this engineer then logs onto another workstation, Inventor works fine for him on that machine.
I have tried deleting the .cas file, no joy; this is a stand-alone installation.
I also reported this to our re-seller since we have a support agreement with them - they recommended a system restore; we felt that this was a lame reply since they didnt even ask for any log files.
They also recommended a registry 'hack' - the solution in the link below was recommended.

We tried this, the problem still persists.
We also created a new profile for this user, still no success.
I get a feeling that a full re-installation might be the only way forward bar a system restore.
According to our subscription support engineer, there are chances that this issue might not be resolved even with a full re-installation.
Just installed product design suite 2013 without issue, however when I try to run Inventor 2013 it hangs at the splash screen.
The only way to exit is to kill the Inventor process. Other applications with in the design suite run fine ACAD, Fusion etc.
I did read a post about a windows security update causing this, but I do not have the offending update loaded so it can't be this.
Windows 7 64 bit Dell Precision

So my other designer is having issues getting his ACAD to open directly from a DWG file. He can open just fine using hydracad, or autocad, or acad mechanical, and open the file once inside. The problem only arises while opening straight from the DWG file on our server (or his hard drive itself, doesnt matter the location). Any DWG file for that matter. Myself and another designer are able to open them all just fine, and have no issues. We are all running with the exact same settings of startup (1), and all have the same computer specs.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5502 @ 1.87GHz 1.86GHz (2 Processors)
8gig ram
64 bit operating system.
Nvidia Quadro NVS 290
and a couple 250 gig Hard drives.
We tried running a repair and it didn't do anything. Not sure what the issue could be. I tried performing quite a few of them for him (even though none of the titles indicated they were having troubles opening just with DWGs, as most were having freezes on the splash screen just opening the .exe).
I'm a school teacher in the PLTW program that uses Inventor extensively in my classroom. Our district operates under a 125 seat license. The issue I've run into is on my personal computer (Windows Vista, x64) and is therefore outside the realm of the usual IT guy's duties. The Inventor software was installed on my laptop by the PLTW training staff during my summer session. I *think* it is a stand alone install of the program.
What happens is after I launch Autodesk Inventor, I can see the splash screen, and the inventor.exe task appears in the task manager, however after a few seconds, the splash screen disappears and the program does not launch. There is no error message.
This is confusing since until quite recently I am sure that Inventor was working hunky dory. Also, all the other Autodesk programs seems to function normally (Fusion, Design and Review)
I've tried a repair and reinstall, but the problem still persists. Also, I updated the install with SP 1, but this had no effect either.
I have recently updated my display drivers (ATI Radeon), however, I tried reverting back to the older drivers and still the problem persists, so I don't think it is graphics driver related
I do tech-support work in a school district that is part of the Project Lead the Way program. As part of this program, we have 2 full labs of machines (25+ each) that are licensed for using Inventor 2012. Each year, this program supplies an updated version of Inventor, so each year I have to make a new Ghost image for those labs and apply it. All the machines are identical, and I image them with the same Ghost image file. This year, I'm having some major difficulty as follows:
On seemingly random machines with seemingly random student-level access accounts, the Inventor splash screen will come up when the kids launch the program…and then it will just immediately dump them back to the desktop with no error message whatsoever. At first I thought it was a rights issue, but on some machines it does the same thing when I log in with my administrator-level account.
These machines were imaged with Ghost, with Inventor 2012 installed, then activated on standalone licenses when the kids log in the first time (at least in theory). The machines are running Windows XP SP3, on an AD2008 domain. Sometimes you can log into a machine with a different user account where a kid has had this problem, and Inventor will open right up. That would seem to indicate that it's an account/permissions issue, but if you then take that kid and move him to a different (identical) PC in the lab, he'll be able to open Inventor just fine.
I've spent a good 2-3 hours Googling this one, digging into Autodesk's knowledge base and just looking through different forums, but I've had no luck isolating any factor that might cause this behavior so far. I even went so far as to do a full uninstall using the Autodesk uninstall utility on one affected machine. When I reinstalled from the disc, the behavior persisted. I also tried downloading Service Pack 1 for the software, which apparently just came out on August 31st. Installing the Service Pack didn't fix the issue either. I see nothing suspicious in the system logs that point out an Autodesk-related error.
When I try to start Inventor is attempts to open and shows up in the active processes list for a few seconds.
Sometimes it will quit before the splash screen appears and sometimes a split second after it appears. No error messages or computer lag, it just simply quits. I'll list the steps I've taken so far. (Windows 7 64 bit)
Deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas file
I've had an error when my 3d connexion mouse trys to start so I uninstalled the drivers.
IT guy could open Inventor from his login on my computer but still not with mine.
Deleted Autodesk folder in the AppData folder and deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas again.
Did a "Repair" of Inventor.
Did a "Re-Install" of Inventor.
Nothing has worked yet and the only advice I'm finding is in regards to deleting the Cascadeinfo.cas file.
My thoughts are that the key to this problem is the fact that it works for other users on this machine. I just don't know what it is or how to fix it.

I've been trying to change the color of these splashes that I have linked below to #ff00cc and #996600. I start by changing the color overlay and trying different blending options, but when I do it doesn't come out the color that I want and it looses its depth as well. Is there a different technique I could utilize or any tips in general?

I made this cool splash effect,
I used the paint brush on white back grount and made two big blobs of mixxed up squiggles on each side of the page. Then I went filter > blur > radial blur 100% x 2.
That makes the ripples, but I can't remember how to make the splash in the middle!!!
After the steps I cant remember I did render > sketch > chrome
I would like to create a background using an image such as the examples below. Can someone tell me the steps that i need to take?
