Using Acad LT 2014, is there a way to adjust the scale of a gradient hatch?
Like the distance between one gradient and the next?I see several property adjustments I can make, but not the scale of the gradient.
When I insert an xref it's to scale 12!; in my model space I have blocks scaled 0.0833 and others to 1 scale! this is weird, every time I insert a block I need to scaled it in the way to adjust it to my drawing. If my drawing it's supposed to be 1 scale.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed autocad architecture 2012. when i opened it to start creating a new drawing/project the unit of measurement was in Millimeters.. i needed the Unit of measurement to be in architectural units, so i used the units command to change it to architectural units. the problem i am having now is that i think the Grid Scale is still in MM. when i tried to draw a line on the grid the line appeared to be tiny. the length of the line was 36'-5". i adjusted the scale to 1/4"=1' but that didnt change anything. in order to see the line that i drew i have to zoom in so much..
How do i adjust the grid scale to be the same as the units?
I'm using a transformation matrix to adjust objects scale.

It isn't possible to define different scale factors for X and Y axis? It seems a strange thing.
I have been playing with the Gradient Flare in the filters. There are a lot fo edit commands here which I like, but I seem to be missing one, the direction of the flare. They always seem to run from the lower left to the upper right. Is there a way to turn the flares in different directions? I have gone through all the commands and still havnt had no luck.

Sometimes I do this by overlaying another solid color fill on top of the pattern fill, and use multiply or other blend modes. This works except when the pattern contains empty/transparent areas: in this case the solid color would pass through and affect the object below the pattern, which is unwanted.

So basically, is there a way to isolate the color change to a single object? I've tried with "Isolate Blending" and "Knockout Group" with no success...
What would be the best approach to draw a mountain outline using a vector approach & fill, but be able to adjust the outline later via a vector approach? (i.e. outline shouldn't get rasterized)

So the approach would need to be able to:
* create the outline & selection with a vector based approach
* vector selection has to be effectively saved for later
* modification later should support getting access to the original handles of the vector selection (say with Pen tool) and make adjustment
* after adjustement of the vector area is made, the fill should automatically occur on the extended or contracted area

When I try to fill a figure using gradient i get: "Unable to fill the boundary with solid." But when I try to fill the figure using hatch I get it to work. The problem is I want to use gradient.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe scale of the horizontal ruler is slightly larger than the vertical ruler. If I zoom so that the distance between 0 and 1" is 100mm on the horizontal scale, it is 94mm between 0 and 1" on the vertical scale (sorry for the mixed standards). This makes images look compressed vertically on my screen. Portraits make people look more "chunky" than they are. Is this adjustable? I am using a Lacie electron19blueIV CRT with resolution at 1280x1024.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI often use gradient cylindrical fill to paint pipes, however if gradient has to fill wide boundry it gets distorted, i found the way of making a short block and scaling it, gradient fill is consistent. It's ok but i want to make a dynamic block out of it and i cant, also if i explode this block gradient fill problem reappears (see pic)

I am using Adobe Illustrator CS6 and need to adjust the map scale of an image. In my class, we were told to go to the Image menu bar then click on Image Resize, but I do not see any of these options on CS6- they are on CS5. How do I get to Image resize? Also, where is Image Mode?

How do I address scale, position, opacity, etc. attributes of my symbol via the code, and where can I find a good, solid reference on syntax? I keep bouncing into jquery libraries, which I don't yet really understand how to implement. I'm missing that reference manual that defines all the functions we have at our disposal.
I am trying to make a rounded corner frame, sides about an inch wide, with a black gradient fill that fades onto the inner edges of the frame. This may be a bit hard to visualize, but I can post an example, if someone will tell me how to post photos.
I can do the frame with rounded corners; just can't get the gradient to fade out onto all sides of the frame. Gradients have always given me trouble.

When i give the gradient fill to the other rectangle the fill spills over to the whole working area. I tried locking the other layers but no use.

This image has been saved as .xcf before closing down Gimp. When I reopen the image, I don't see any way to remove the gradient fill so that I'm just left with the selection.

I need to fill 20 circles with one common grad fill... so that the 1st circle is dark to the 20th as lightest (NOT each individual circle getting it's own gradient).
Why can't I adjust the scale of my text by clicking and dragging the corner boxes? Why I have the text selected, all it does it let me highlight it to change font, size, etc, OR all I can do is move it throughout the artboard. Why can I click and drag the corner box to adjust?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLet's say I have a square with a gradient fill of 30% gray to white. I have a background that I have imported to make the paper look old and weathered. If I place this background behind the gradient filled square, the square looks grayish and will print this way. Instead what I want is for the gradient filled square to show the color of the background rather than gray.
If I print the old and weathered background first and then run the paper through the printer again with the gradient filled square, it has the effect I want. Is there a way to do get this effect without having to print the background first and then print it again?
Even starting with a clean slate 400x400 white background, my gradient tool wont fill! The fill bucket works fine, not the gradient. I've selected 5 or so different shades, everything, no luck. I'm in Normal blend mode, 100% opacity etc. I dont see why I cant apply a gradient! Dont know if this will help but when mousing over with the gradient tool, the cursor turns into a small "+" for some reason.....

If this was a linear gradient I could just position the start and end points to reverse it but since its circular I must swap the start and end to retain the circular effect.
View 6 Replies View Relateda photo in xara is actually a bitmap filled shape, so if you just try applying another fill, eg linear, it will replace the bitmap completely
so what you need to do is draw a rectangle over the photo - apply the fill you want to the rectangle - and then give it a transparency of type hue
now come the reservations - hue transparency has no affect on black/white/grey-tones, so you may not end up with an even fill as you can see from the example
you may wish to contone the bitmap first... the underlying color will still affect the fill to some extent... as can be seen from the green band in the examples..
the chosen fill ramp gives a rather nice effect on the original I think, but is a bit extreme on the contones...
[I find it useful for adding gradient color to raster line art, sometimes quicker than going into a bitmap editor and painting on color whilst preserving transparency...]
I want to create a gradient fill, top to bottom of some text.To do this, I'm creating my text in a solid colour (can't seem to find a gradient fill on the text tool), then wand selecting the background inverting the selection then applying a gradient.
Unfortunately, applying the fill seems to make the text lose all smoothness (anti-aliasing?).I've tried feathering (using Boltbait) but even at 1 it's too aggressive and the text ends up too skinny.
How to maintain the anti-aliasing but also have a gradient.

The shape is a compound path with a black fill & no stroke. Alternatively, is there any way to convert that shape to individual horizontal & vertical wavy lines?
Can you fill individual characters each with a gradient, I get black when I try(the black type with one letter selected). When I create outlines from the type I get what I need(Crushed with radial gradient in each letter). I would like to keep this editable type.
