When I go to model space I am unable to adjust the view scale. Although I can get to the prompt for a new scale value, the program will not accept my changes. Is this locked somehow?
View 6 RepliesI need to have users plot to DWF from paper space so they can retain their customized layers colors etc, on that specific paper space tab, as well as the view via viewport that they like most.
I then am mixing this with FDO data generated out of Model space. Unfortunately, when using the EXPORTLAYOUT command, the data is coped into Model space but seems to retain it's paper space coordinates. I had hoped this function would behave like CHSPACE and copy everything from paper to model space in the same scale.
Is there a way for me to achieve this?
I have an issue with linetype scale. I have a certain part of my drawing with dash lines at a linetype scale of 1000. In Model space it is fine but when I change to Paper Space the lines become solid. I have tried increasing the linetype scale in Model space to compensate for the scale in Paper space but the lines are still solid.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to see and adjust paperspace viewports in modelspace. By adjusting viewports in modelspace I would like to be able to adjust the size of my rectangular viewport in modelspace to encompass what I want, while keeping the viewport on paperspace the same size (to encompass the entire print page). I would like my modelspace viewport to simply adjust the zoom in and zoom out of my paperspace viewport.
Any better method than individually zooming in and zooming out and re-adjusting my paperspace viewport.
ACAD 2010 text doesn't view the same in MSpace and PSpace! Model space is the acad default text: txt Paper Space it appears as it should as Romans. The drawings print as txt and not as it should Romans! When I change the text in model space to Romans, save the drawing, enter PSpace and the return to MSpace, it seems to 'reset' back to text!
This is specific to my workstation BTW, when I open the dwg file on a colleagues PC it opens Romans in both Model and Paper space.
CAD-Newbie working in paper space zoomed in close. I want to return to page extents but am zoomed in so close I can't click outside paper space to move view control toolbar to model space. is there a simple key command to perform this function?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLet’s say you have a large building plan in model space but there is only one small area of the building that the view port is looking at. Is there a way that you can draw around that viewport and then take that into model space and paste it in the same place so now you have the same area located in both views?
At the moment I need to try and work out where the view is by drawing a rectangle around the correct area of the building and this is time consuming.
I could then trim/delete everything else outside that box.
When I have placed dimensions in model space with a text height of 2.5 now do I get them to a readable size in paper space

I have a drawing with a 2 viewing ports
Port 1 is at 1/4"= 1'-0"
Port 2 is at 1/2"= 1'-0"

I'm using 2004lt- I have current .dwg in modelspace and set up to plot in PS@ 3/23"-1'-0". I'd like to create a second set of PS tabs to plot portions at 1/4"-1'-0" on the same border when needed.
In its a single viewport in MS and PS the current scale is 1:1 but if i change it to 1/4"-1',etc the plot preview appears wrong

The issue comes that when i go to input a scale at the viewport stage the drawing is tiny. Ive always worked in mm and thus never had this issue when using the standard 'z' enter 's' enter 1/##xp' to achieve the desired scale

how to scale out these drawings. I have a CAD drawing using metric scale. This drawing has multiple title blocks. and each title block has its own scale. 1:500, 1:50, 1:150, 1:75. Now I make a block out of each title block and scale them out to find out if they plot out on the same sheet, and they do. Now, I still can't find out the scale factor to print them out to scale. If we want to make the paper space and model space same (draw in same scale, if we use 1/100 scale in metric system, 1 meter in model space is equal to 1 centimeter in paper space), is it a wise idea to set the model space into A4 or A3 paper size by use of LIMITS?
I think its utmost usage is in combination with "snap". Where you can quickly grab the points you want onscreen without need for coordinate input. Would be happy if there is other usage for GRID
Before, I thought limits will specify the area in model space where I can draw (limit the area of model space). But this is in contrary with the fact that model space is limitless and I can draw as far as I want.
It is really hard to understand that there is no limit for model space like real world.

I have Cad 2013 for mac.
Problem 1: I can't view to scale in page space.
Aim: Plot 1:50 at A1 page size.
Notes: I am plotting in page space. The page set up is at an A1 page, . I have created new viewports and tried to change the scale inside the viewport to 1:50 but it blows up the drawing way bigger than 1:50. I have gone through everything I can think of and it does not make a difference.
Problem 2: I can't get it to print the full page layout.
Aim: Print to the printer and to PDF as what is seen on the screen
Notes: I am able to print to the printer at A3 with scale 1:100 but only half of it comes out on paper. Every which way I change something like portrait / landscape or new window selection it prints wrongly.PLUS when I plot to PDF it plots perfectly but the scale is slightly off. It prints out at 1:110 or so, slightly off from 1:100.
I have a drawing in model space the i drew to scale of 1'=1' and I went to paper scape to put the drawing in my title block using Viewports. highlighted the viewport and went to properties to give the drawing a scale so it would maximize the Viewport area, on my 22"x34" paper. but under the standard scale 1/64"=1' is too big and 1/128"=1' is too small. the simple solution is zoom extents but then in my title block i have to put NTS. I would like to add to the standard scale or be able to set the customer scale to a whole number. EX. 1:1000 or 1:150, etc. etc.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have had a reoccuring problem in autocad architecture 2012 where model space views can no longer be dragged into a sheet. It just shows a circular cancel icon.
The sheets are set up fine and it may even have several MSVs already in place then out of no where the ability is lost. We have tried allt he usual fixes (checked the layers, restored the .bak file, tried on other computers, installed service packs) but it seems once the file is "poisoned" the only fix is to recreate the sheet and delete the old one. Not a terrible solution but it is not efficient.
We have a dozen computers all with acad architecture 2012 and it seems to happen on random computers and we can't pinpoint any specific differences between them.
We did not have this problem with Autocad architecture 2009.
It could be something with the project database.
I am having an issue with my template that I created from an old drawing: the quick view layout thumbnail still shows the old drawing in model space. All of the paper space thumbnails update themselves as I work, however model space does not. It shows the old drawing both when I hover over the model space tab, and also when I pull up all of my quick view layouts. I am using AutoCAD 2009
