AutoCAD LT :: Add Room ID On Architectural Drawings?
Jul 18, 2013How do you add room ID's on architectural drawings?
View 9 RepliesHow do you add room ID's on architectural drawings?
View 9 RepliesI'm having problems to transform an architectural drawings done in 2D to 3D, and also when it comes to confirm and locate their respective courts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am editing an old file set up by another firm that is used by our clients to keep track of room sizes etc, which has a room data table and room tags tied to area polylines. It has worked just fine on our 2013 Acad Architecture, but when I sent them (saved down to 2010) back to our client, using 2012 Acad Architecture, the tags disappear and the table is unpopulated. It seems like it must have something to do with the file originally being created way back when, along with some quirk between 2012 and 2013.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a project in wich rooms functionality is compromised. I don't know why the room tool doesn't recognise a simple room delimited by walls whose property divides rooms is set to yes. If I place a rectangle of rooms delimiters the room tool works properly instead. If I start a new project the tool works properly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I am currently using a standard version of Autocad 2011, can I buy an ? Or do I need to buy a whole new version?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just started working for an architect and downloaded AutoCad LT 2013 today...is there some sort of menu where I can get basic door, window, etc. blocks? Or are these things I need to create myself?...I see the "tool palettes" box but it seems to have a random selection of stuff labeled "Imperial Samples" leading me to believe there might be other stuff elsewhere.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problem getting my drawings to get small. Example 1" = 25' how is that translated into an architectural units. And the drawing to be small enough to fit in the screen. Actually I have problems with any architectural units to fit in my screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm having an issue with my dimensions when set on the architectural units settings. The dimensions are coming up as inches even though I have the setting set to feet. When I change over to decimal feet the dimensions show as feet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working in inches so I set my dimension units to Architectural. When I am dimensioning a distance that is twelve inches I would like the dimension to read 12" not 1'. I would like to set up the dimension style to report this dimension automatically without editing the text manually to change 1' to 12". Is there a way to set this up through the dimension style?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI received a drawing from a client where the architectural ticks display very large. The leader arrow shows as the correct size but the dimension tick does not. I went into the dimension style manager (dimstyle) and everything seems to be in order. The tick size is set up to be 1/16". I tried to dredge up out of my memory the autocad variables that mess with the size of the archtectural ticks like "dimasz" and "dimblk", but with no luck.
Currently using Autocad 2013.
where to find some useful links of Blueprint of a Plan, either Architectural or Mechanical. I want to practice myself using any types of commands in AutoCAD.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old dwg that I used to add new data to. I also inserted a block produced by Revit to get a building elevation. I am not sure when or how it happend, but my drawing scale units are stuck on arch. I am talking about the bottom right hand corner of the screen on the status bar where there is the spot to set drawing scale. When I open by clikcing the arrow all the scales are in architectural units. I can add a custom scale of 1"=100', but it does not otherwise appear in the list. I wasn't going to wrry about it, but when I layout a plan/pro series they do not seem to be scaling correctly (and I cannot find a place to specify what scale I want the views to be at). UNITS, -DWGUNITS & -AECDWGUNITS don't fix it, they are all set to decimal, etc. Using the seetings tab to change the drawing settings, everything is set to feet, there is no place to specify arch units, the 100 scale drawing is shown as a custom scale.
This is C3D release 2012, on a 64bit Win7 Pro machine, everything is up to date.
Where I can change the units for the drawing scale?

I have to add dimensions to an architectural drawing in model space
The file is drawn in decimal units (1unit=1meter)
Now I have been asked to ad dimensions in feet and inches to the drawing in order to make it usable to UK
I know that the solution is to use alternate units with Architectural units format, but how mach is the multiplier that I have to use?
I have no experience in British metric system.
So I left the multiplier 25.4 as AutoCAD prompt.
2.81 meters equals to 5'-11 1/4” ?
I’m using AutoCAD 2007
I am working on an architectural drawing and for some reason when I try to "objectscale" the annotation to the same scale as the view port I am using, it doesn't appear or if it does it is a lot smaller scale than I requested.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can get the leading zeros in the architectural dim style. My problem is I cant seem to get the leading zero in the parts list format. If I edit the parts list, then format column, there is no option to include leading zeros like in the dim styles.
We could format the parts list with the leading zero before....This is in 2013, BTW..
I have a parameter length that is currently in inches and I would like to use it to populate the description but I would like it to be displayed in Architectural style (i.e. 12’-3”). I would also like to have it round up to the nearest 3”.
View 4 Replies View Relatedjust got my boss to agree today to use cad's dimensions instead of the way he's always done it... which is dimensioning everything (everything!) by hand. Clearly that's just nonsense. But what is important is that I make sure these new autocad dimensions look exactly like the ones we do by hand.
I think I've pretty much got the basics down, I just have one major problem: tick orientation. When doing horizontal dimensions, the ticks run from bottom left to upper right. When doing vertical dimensions, they flip. This would drive my boss nuts... to the extent that I doubt I could get him to buy into this if I can't figure out how to keep the ticks running in the same direction.
I understand I could just dimension with no ticks whatsoever, and then just go copy them in by hand, but that reeks of the old, laborious way of dimensioning... and it really seems like there should be an easy answer to always keeping the ticks running the same way.
I have a file that the architectural tick marks are not solid. They are an outline of a rectangle.
fillmode =1
shademode = 2dwireframe
options/display = solid fill is checked.
I am on ACA2011. It does not matter if I am in model or a viewport. It is the same.
I have another file open and that dim ticks are filled.
I have imported the dim string into the one that does not work and still nothing.
We just upgraded to AutoCAD 2012 Architectural suite, With previous versions of AutoCAD we would be able to import groups using the customize pallets dialogue and Right click to import or export palette groups. These options seem to be missing.
How to lisp the function, where I'm trying to ultimately go with this anyway.
how to rotate the architectural tick of a leader line ? I don't use ACAD on a daily basis and have forgotten the command.

I'm trying to edit an architectural Title Block. I've went into block editor and did attribute definitions. However, when I save it I can't insert it into a drawing. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently started using Architect 2012. We use Architectural Tick for dimensioning.
The problem is the Architectural Tick arrow is not coming in at the proper scale (Arrow head size = 3/32", dimscale varies). The arrow head seems to be out by a scale factor of 25.4 (found by trial and error).
If so is there a software patch or workaround. Can the Architectural Tick block be edited and if so where is it?

What is the system variable to change the display of grip dimensions from decimal to architectural? Specifically I am referring to the dimension associated with a grip(s) when hovering over it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying combine a Move and Stretch Action such that the same handle MOVES the detail UP/DOWN and STRETCHes the detail RIGHT/LEFT while maintaining the base of the detail line at the reference line. Sounds confusing maybe but this is the most intuitive and elegant way to design it. However, I can't get it to work.
The attached detail achieves the same functionality but is a little clunky.
I "lost" the ability to plot to standard architectural paper sizes when my dialog box opens. I only have standard paper sizes and other non-architectural related options.
I can still plot to my cute pdf, but only on 8.5x11. I need 11x17, 24x36, etc.etc.
I'm using ACAD LT 2008.
When i try to copy paste some drawing entities from a heavy drawing file to any other file, the program blocks and says 'not responding', endlessly. So i always have to shutdown the program. I experience the same problem using the designcenter: when I try to copy a layout into another drawing, my computer gets stuck.
Another annoying problem with these files is that they are so heavy, while in fact they shouldn't be. I tried the aectoacad file command. In result the file id half as big, but after I open it and save it, again is the original size.
Every now and then I go back and try to use publish to speed up printing but I always go back to plotting one by one.
I work in a housing construction office and I have 10 separate drawings side by side in model space for house plans that I need plot separate to give to certain people. My problem isn't that I can't publish them separately its that I can't save them over existing pdf's individually predetermined.
Q1. do i just have to go through and change every layout name before or after i publish?
Q2. how do i change the output publish location?
Q3. can each layout be saved to a different existing pdf and remember it?
Q3. can i save these setting across to a new drawing?
Has anyone had any experience using PS to do some basic architectural rendering? Most of the pros use 3D software for rendering applications but they integrate Photoshop as well. Could these renderings even be done effectively with PS only. Post some examples if you do this kind of work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to ask a question about architectural photography lighting and retouching techniques. You can see some sample sites below: URL.....
These photos are very impressive and possibly taken as HDR.The question is; this transformation can be possible just photoshop retouching even using light? It looks like 3D rendering or PS drawing but we don't sure. Is it Photoshop Plug-In or what kind of technique is it?
I'm having some difficulty importing a pdf of a simple architectural drawing with 2 hatches. No problem with other pdfs made with my pdf995 or with the same original drawing to pdf minus the hatches. They are really simple small hatches and small files - 11x17 with minimal detail. The original architectural drawings are made in Turbocad then to pdf. I don't have an alternative way to check this out with another cad software.
Drawx5 crashes just after the dialog box for text options, then I click OK for font substitutions and it 'stops working'. All the same procedure works OK if I remove the hatches before making the pdf.
System is Win7Pro 64 bit, 8gb ram, 4 cores, 1gb video memory.
If I can create a Diagram for my project like this diagram? For circulation and sold & void spaces ...etc?
