I "lost" the ability to plot to standard architectural paper sizes when my dialog box opens. I only have standard paper sizes and other non-architectural related options.
I can still plot to my cute pdf, but only on 8.5x11. I need 11x17, 24x36, etc.etc.
when I select the printer/name: Adobe PDF
under Paper size: the standard Arch sizes are not there...

The Plotter is connected to network.
I want to add some Custom Paper Sizes, however, when I open the options for the plotter(User-defined Paper sizes&calibration), I can`t add or modify paper sizes. The `Add` button is not available.
I set my computer to `Power Users` but still cant add. How to make the `Add` or `Delete` buttons usable?
I need drawing borders in special formats - can't use the DIN or ANSI formats. How do i create these special paper sizes / layouts in auto cad 2007?
Example: i need a paper size / layout 56 in wide and 22 in high.
We had a project folder named A. We created a new project folder named B and copied the AutoCad files from A to B. On one of our workstations if you open a drawing from folder B, then click save as, the dialog opens to folder A.
Not a big problem, but since the files are named the same it can be confusing...
im trying to do is print on standard 8.5" X 11" paper but for some reason it keeps cutting off the top and the bottom. ive tried changing the plotter settings around but to no avail. its like theres a certain amount that it refuses to pring on the bottom. no matter what, the is always a .5" gap at the bottom. i can get it to print to the very edge of the top. just having issues with the bottom. ive also tried using plot calibration and all of that is fine

Trying to change the printable area of custom paper sizes?
I've plotter that allows me to create 5 custom paper sizes for each pc3 file, however after create them, i cant always access to change their printable area, you know adjusting their margins, and the strange thing is that this error doesn’t happen all the time,sometimes after a while trying they work, but just for a couple of times, after that the problem remains.

To be more clear, you can see on the image that it doesn’t recognize the custom paper size i have selected, however it works from time to time, allowing me to edit those margins, and after save them, they work just fine and i can use those paper sizes with no problems.
I've tried to edit the pc3 file through windows, and a message appears saying that an unknown error has occurred.
How do I get the large Hatchwindow /Dialogbox as standard? I mean, without rightclick - settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to drawing and I need getting my text/dimensions to be legible on an 11x17 sheet. I had no problems when my company used Arch D (24x36) but in an effort to "going green" we converted to the B size paper (11x17).
Any useful chart for plotting in different scales. Maybe a standard size chart. I usually print in 3/8", 1/2", 6", and full size paper space viewports.
(again): how to create one title block that fits all paper sizes?
In the ArcGIS, the same layout can fit all paper sizes and there is no need to customize the layout for each paper size manually. For example, if the map is set up based on A4 paper size and then needed to be printed in A0 size, then all the lay out elements will be automatically proportionally changed to fit the new paper size.
I’m not sure if there is an equivalent features in the AutoCAD that handle this issue
it's possible to have a standard text filled in the "Authorization" and "Organization", so that I don't have to enter the same text each time I want to export a STEP file.

I am building a tool to plot layout content of drawing to PDF/DWF file. The issue I have is that the required output paper size is not a standard paper size (i.e. the paper size does not exists in paper list when the "DWG To PDF.pc3" is selected.
In order to plot programmatically, we have to create a PlotSettingsValidator and call
PlotSettingsValidator.SetPlotConfigurationName(plotSettings, plotDeviceName, mediaName)
For the 3 required arguments:
plotSettings: it is copied from current Layout
plotDeviceNameL it will be "DWG To PDF.pc3"
mediaName: ? this is the one I could not decide, because with the available paper list there isn't one that matches the paper size required by the layout.
When doing plot to PDF manually in AutoCAD, user would get prompted for using the selected device (PDF.pc3)'s default paper or use a cutom paper size. If choosing to use custom paper size, AutoCAD add a custom paper size into PDF.pc3 in memory. Here is what I could not find: the corresponding API of adding custom paper size to PDF/DWF pc3 device to match required layout paper size.
All the PDF plotting samples I can find online (such as Kean's posts on plotting) use a know paper size when SetPlotConfigurationName() is called, thus, not useful.
I'm trying trying to plot something I just drew. I'm plotting from paper space and all the text and objects that are in paperspace come out under everything in the viewport that's their. I have tried display order but it doesn't seem to work; when you look at it on the screen the paperspace objects look like they are on top but when I plot it they come out underneath.
How I can fix this without moving everything into model space?
I have created some rectangles with a solid fill hatch in paper space in different colors, on different layers., when i plot them, they plot in black. what can i have checked or not checked to solve this? the viewport that i have in the layout plots in color, i am using the acad plot style.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with plotting. I have my page setup as 17 x 22 (Landscape) and am designating the plot area to plot extents. I am trying to plot to 22 x 34 (size "D" portrait). The current paper loaded is 22" in a HP Design jet T770. When I do a plot preview, the drawing looks correct. However, when it plots it trims off the top part of the drawing. I'm trying to figure out what is causing this. The drawing is orientated correctly when it comes out of the plotter so I know it's not a portrait/landscape issue.
I just tried plotting a 30 x 42 titleblock to the same size paper "D" portrait, and get the same problem. This happens if I use extents and window.
When printing on Epson printers (4800,4880,4900) in the Photoshop print settings dialogue box it won't allow me to print at a custom paper size using the sheet or manual feed settings. The paper feed option defaults to Roll Paper when I create the custom paper size, and then when I change it and try and save the settings it just reverts back to roll paper.
If I try and send a print after this then the printer won't accept it because it's being told to print on a roll instead of sheet. Why is this?? I'm using CS6 and OS 10.7 and I've never experienced this problem with any previous Photoshop/ Mac OS X before.
Is it possible to add a custom paper size to Gimp? I have a new HP wide format printer and was looking for a capability to customize the paper size. Hewlett Packard and Microsoft have said that the customization of paper size is application specific even though Microsoft tells you can customize paper size through server properties , which on my XP machine will not save the custom settings.

Normally I plot in paper space and everything works well. when I plot in paper space all the lines ae much, much lighter and almost invisible, whereas if I plot the same drawing in model space the plot comes out perfectly, though not in scale. I must have pushed a wrong button somewhere but wnat button is beyond me.

The thing I'm having trouble with, is getting it to act like it has roll paper. I can set custom paper sizes in the printer drives all day (such as 42" x 42") but this is only half way accurate, and can waste a lot of paper.
Is there a particular way to set the printer to use the roll paper?
I have been having this issue for a few weeks, where my contour lines will not plot in paper space, but the labels do. If I plot from model space everything shows up. All layers have been checked and nothing is frozen or turned off in the viewport.

However, when we plot them for redlines we print to C-size to save paper. I know you can "publish selected layouts" to plot numerous tabs at a time. However, I am unable to figure out how to make them plot to a smaller size paper than what the page is set up for. Is there a way to plot all of the tabs at a smaller scale without plotting each tab individually?
We just recently upgraded to AutoCad 2014.
If I import an Arcview shape file into Autocad Map, why can't i plot it out from Paper Space??? I can plot out shape file data in Model Space but not Paper Space. The data is mapped to a layer, and it can be viewed in "Print Preview" but nothing comes out when i plot from paper space.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAmong about a dozen ACAD users in my office, one is missing the "Arch D (landscape)" paper size that accompanies the PC3 file we generally use. I have checked that the roll size and other settings in the machine in question and all of that looks good. I don't want to edit this PC3 as it works for everyone else and don't want to create a new PC3 for this one user.

I find this excellant for fireworks and certain architecture prints.
Problem is that in CS6 I cannot adjust Set Up dialog to get entire paper printed correctly. The printer(both Canon's 9000mkii/9500mkii) always have a border. Red River(the paper I use) sez use 8x12 but there is no 8x12 setting.
the paper size in the CS6 Print menu (PS Manages Color) so the copy is inked 100%?
