I have been having this issue for a few weeks, where my contour lines will not plot in paper space, but the labels do. If I plot from model space everything shows up. All layers have been checked and nothing is frozen or turned off in the viewport.
View 3 Replieswhy is it that simple commands in paperspace like editing text/mtext, moving a single line or erasing objects so slow. it seems like it takes way to long to do simple editing. Makes me what to go back to model space sheet set up. I already did the changes to settings that someone posed "NEW Autocad Performance Tips". I notice a small performance enhancement but still very slow compared to paper space. this happened in files with one layout tab or 10.

I'm trying trying to plot something I just drew. I'm plotting from paper space and all the text and objects that are in paperspace come out under everything in the viewport that's their. I have tried display order but it doesn't seem to work; when you look at it on the screen the paperspace objects look like they are on top but when I plot it they come out underneath.
How I can fix this without moving everything into model space?
I have created some rectangles with a solid fill hatch in paper space in different colors, on different layers., when i plot them, they plot in black. what can i have checked or not checked to solve this? the viewport that i have in the layout plots in color, i am using the acad plot style.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNormally I plot in paper space and everything works well. when I plot in paper space all the lines ae much, much lighter and almost invisible, whereas if I plot the same drawing in model space the plot comes out perfectly, though not in scale. I must have pushed a wrong button somewhere but wnat button is beyond me.

The data is mapped to a layer, and it can be viewed in "Print Preview" but nothing comes out when i plot from paper space.

I have noticed twice now from two different civil firms that some of the civil symbols (dynamic blocks) are having visibility issues in paper space. No the viewport layers are not turned off or frozen. No the views weren't placed using the sheet set manager. Yes the blocks are created on layer zero and yes the associated layer is not off or frozen. I don't believe these blocks are annotative blocks. They appear, as expected, perfectly clear in model space. I just toggel over to paper space and "poof" they've disappeared.

Many times I have a steep area in a surface that needs to be displayed using 1 foot contour intervals, and in certain areas the contours are crossing each other around curved areas, like a curve in a ditch. In the past i have had to "fudge" the surface a little to get the contours to look correct.
I know 2013 are more exposed and the .net can extract contours. However using 2012 at the moment. so my plan is using .net to add the user contours and then use com object to extract.
so far i can get the surface object and assign to two different surface variable one is .net and one is com. I am looking at the surface analysis object and can't figure out how to add contours at user elevation. it is also read only in the surface object. but i find this:
SetContourData
(analysisData()
which is obvious not read only. so any sample code of the procedure of assign user contours?
We just installed 2013. I'm in a layout tab, a AutoCAD/C3D keeps kicking me out of model space into paper space.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI either have bad settings or have found a bug in 2012 when plotting parcels.
I have a P-drain Parcel setting for major drainage areas - I set the display to the C-PROP-BNDY layer which seems to be OOB for the entire 'property'. I create the parcels from poly lines on the P-DRAIN-AREA layer.
The parcels go to the C-PROP layer. My problem is that I can't seem to get the property lines to plot. I try to set C-PROP-BNDY to the correct color, yet when I plot, the lines don't show.
When plotting profile plan sheets, there is an error in the scaling of the grids. I can not seem to figure out why the plotter is not plotting correctly. I did try creating a pdf of the plan sheet and plotting, but still have the same scale error. It starts to get off scale after about 500 feet, so the error in scale is small, but still there. It is off by about 2 or 3 feet at 500 feet on the profile grid.
View 2 Replies View Relatedjust wondering if any of you know the command that I can use in order to align my text in papr space. I'm running 2011 and 2013 C3D. I have several callouts that are in a row, and I COULD draw a line straight down and just move them all to it, but that's a very inefficient way of getting this done. At the last company I worked, we had a command in the system simply called LINEUP that would align any text we wanted either horizontally or vertically. If this is a button I can create with code or whatever, I could try to do that too, if necessary. Just might take me a while to do the code, but I know there's a more efficient way of performing this task.

I've made them very tiny in Model space but they still end up huge in Layout.
Shp file not printing in paper space, but WILL print in model space? This is Civil 3D 2013. If the issue was resolved by this method, please click on "Accept As Solution".

Have tried recovering... moving the geometry is not an option. Have also tried toggling "Projection" on and off as suggested in other threads
This seems to have been a long standing issue and its surprising there yet seems to be a fix. Have made the same post in an AutoCAD 2011 as a reply to a board on the same issue.

My question is when you Create Reference Grid, it seems to default the text and grid to black in color (I work with a black background in C3D), so its pretty tough to see. Where do you control the color and text size of this Grid?

I think it is a mm/m problem but can't seem to find a solution in the properties of the station label group. If I type a piece of mtext it works fine.

I'm having trouble with paper space labels. When i zoom in and out to adjust my viewport, the scale looks fine. Then when i go to plot preview all text are enlarged. Then when I cancel I go to paperspace and labels remain large.

I often, and I mean 9/10 times get one or more fata errors when try to do so.
For clarification I am grabbing the wheel in the top right corner between N and E and rotating the view. When I release the drawing is not in view. Then the program crashes.
It is very frustrating and adding hour on to my day.

I know I am not running a quadro but I should still be able to handle this type of task.
When I use a layout size such as A3 in paper space, the section view label text size is the same as it is in model space (when both annotative scales are the same). However, when I choose 11x17 as a layout size, the section view label text size is exetremly small.

Take a look at this DWG. Elements in The Alignment Style are colour: ACI 1 (red).
The CTB plot style (in the attached zip) returns ACI 1 as black (layout page-setup: display using plot style)
BUT ... The Alignment elements are grey in the paper space viewport !!!
