When plotting profile plan sheets, there is an error in the scaling of the grids. I can not seem to figure out why the plotter is not plotting correctly. I did try creating a pdf of the plan sheet and plotting, but still have the same scale error. It starts to get off scale after about 500 feet, so the error in scale is small, but still there. It is off by about 2 or 3 feet at 500 feet on the profile grid.

I have a P-drain Parcel setting for major drainage areas - I set the display to the C-PROP-BNDY layer which seems to be OOB for the entire 'property'. I create the parcels from poly lines on the P-DRAIN-AREA layer.
The parcels go to the C-PROP layer. My problem is that I can't seem to get the property lines to plot. I try to set C-PROP-BNDY to the correct color, yet when I plot, the lines don't show.
I have been having this issue for a few weeks, where my contour lines will not plot in paper space, but the labels do. If I plot from model space everything shows up. All layers have been checked and nothing is frozen or turned off in the viewport.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen Civil 3D 2013 came out I downloaded it and installed it. I imediately discovered that when selecting my window during plotting by window, if I zoomed or panned I would not be able to pick any points and would have to hit escape SEVERAL times to get it to exit out of the selection command. AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Hotfix 1 solved the problem and all was good.
When our office decided to all move to 2013 last month (DEC 2012) I installed it on the workstations then installed the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1 skipping the hotfix. I assumed it was included (WHICH IT STATES THEY ARE IN THE README). Sadly I was wrong because we are experiencing the same issue all over again. All of our workstations that installed 2013 and then SP1 without installing the Hotfixes.
I have tried to install Hotfix 1 on these workstations but it doesn't install on the SP1 version AND there is no way to uninstall SP1 without uninstalling Civil 3D all together.
We need this to get fixed sooner than later because it is a major hassel to lock up everytime we go to plot.
If I used millimeters as my UNITS, how can I scale them when plotting it into A1 or A0? How will I know the scale that I will use in Layout tab so that it will fit on the paper that I will used?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst, when I have a drawing to scale in millimeters and want to put its attributes, the amnotations come out extremely small. It's caused me so many headaches. the units have been set to millimeters, limits from 0,0 to 200-150 ish. Drawing a small drawing within those limits tried very, very small annotations that you can't see unless you zoom 200 times in. I don't have that problem when drawing in inches though. Annotations come out great in inches.
The second problem is that, after I complete a drawing in millimeters and I want to copy and paste it onto my template (also drawn in millimeters to fit a 12-9 paper) the drawing comes out HUGE. At least 100 times bigger than the 1:1 scale should be. When I draw and plot in inches, the 1:1 copy onto a template comes out perfect, but for some reason it always does that in millimeters. I tried placing a block over the template with the "model" to scale and that looks closest to the proper 1:1 scale. I double checked on both the drawing and the template that their 1:1, they seemed fine so I printed. When I measured with a ruler it was still off by a bit.
What I can do to make annotating and plotting in millimeters as easy as with inches?
I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.

I get the following error (in the event log) when C3D 2012 starts:
Service cannot be started. The file resolves to a path that is too long. The maximum length is 260 characters. [ File name = C:ProgramDataAutodeskContent ServiceServerContentServiceDBConnect.MetaStore.sdf ]
Obviously that path is NOT over 260 characters.
Just trying to clean up a surface. I can swap edges fine. This project was a 2009 project.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy I'd get this error when doing an Export to AutoCAD 2010/2007/2004...? It seems to be innocuous, and irrelevant, but it's disturbing none-the-less. I haven't been able to identify any reason why it appears, and all drawings seem to work normally, with no problems. AUDITs turn up no errors. So I've just been ignoring this message, but it's distracting. And it doesn't always appear... although I haven't been able yet to identify what causes it to appear in some drawings, and not others. I think it only ever happens when there's an XREF, but not sure... (Maybe when an XREF is in an older version of C3D/LDD/AutoCAD...?)
View 9 Replies View RelatedCertain pieces from the content center, both things that I made and standard content, are coming into my drawings scaled wrong. Actually I don't think it's scale, because some rectangles are coming in as squares.
Everything looks great on the assembly, but they are wrong on the drawing. I've tried replacing from content center with no change.
.iam and resulting .idw. And one showing a wrong part and a correct part on an idw. The square on the left is supposed to be 2.25" square, which is what it measures to - but you can see that it isn't snapping to the actual geometry.
This is all stuff that has worked fine on previous versions of Inventor. I've had several instances of this so far since finally getting 2012 installed yesterday.
I need to be able to import the airfoil geometry of a NACA 2412 airfoil. I know how to get the XY coordinates but I don't know how to import these points (as a .txt file?) into ACAD. What function would I use? Spline? If so how do I get it to draw all the points I have? I need to then extrude the shape to be able to mill airfoil sections...that part I can figure out....just need to import the points to get a nice curve.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I plot to pdf, I get an error message: You do not have a PDF viewing application installed. Go to the internet and dowload a pdf viewer. The problem is that Acrobat Reader X is installed on my computer. I saw the thread about Reader X having spooling issues, so I reinstalled Acrobat Reader 9. Still get the same message.I can go to the file afterwards and open it, despite this message, but it is supposed to open from Architecture after it is plotted and it won't do that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company just got new computers, I've loaded 2012 SP1 and our lisp comands on every machine. After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes. It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same. This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD. I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result. I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has worked.

While batch plotting to a multi page PDF in AutoCad 2012 using Adobe Acrobat:
My pages come out with a blank / empty viewport,
The title block is on the page and nothing else plots on the page.
This is only happening with one of the files I am working in. Other DWGs are PDFing normal.
I'm a computer tech in a school that uses Inventor 2012. After cloning the computers, if I log in using a profile that was there before, I can access the content service but when a student logs in, nothing happen when trying to access it. I looked for the .exe.config files in the Inventor bin directory but could not find anything related to the computer name. The structure is different in this version.

When I open up the drawing on my computer, it plots perfectly. I attached a clip of it, the thick black is our drawing border, the viewport is where the color stops.

View 9 Replies View Relatedproblem when plotting files that have PDF images attached to them and are viewed through a viewport. When plotting, the publishing bar fills up but then stays filled and doesnt disappear. At this point AutoCAD is locked up and I see the file starts spooling. I have several PDF files attached that amount to no more than 500 kb, however, when spooling it racks up to 30mb before in sends it off to the plotter and it takes a very lenghtly wait (up to 60 min). Eventually it plots and sometimes it doesn't plot at all. After a while if I try cancelling the plot, it will start plotting but only half of the page and after that the entire operating system will lockup. We have several machines (6) and 2 plotters in a network and the plotters are shared. Is there a better and faster way to work with PDF xrefs? Could this be a networking problem instead of AutoCAD?

When I plot to paper from TV2012, I'm good with monochrome - black lines, white background - awesome.
I would *like*, however, to plot a few things to PDF, but retain the view I have on my display - I.E., lines/labels of various colors and a BLACK background. I've been poking around for a bit, and if there's a way to make that setting, I'm no finding it. Everything I try has gotten me colored lines/labels on a white background.
On PC_71, While ploting(creating the pdf via autocad) the pdf,its everytime coming in portait format but we want in landscape format.
On PC_71, if we create the pdf of any document by our Adobe pdf printer PRT13 then its creating pdf properly for both portait and landscape format . But for any autocad drawing file , the pdf printer PRT13 is not creating in landscape format.
I also cross-checked all plot setting with other proper working PC , its same then also its behave differently.
And if we create pdf on any other PC then its creating the pdf properly for any drawing but not on PC_71.
Also 1 more typical point I noticed that if we delete any pdf file from PC_71, then after refreshing its again appeared on same location.
Note - We are using:
Software : Autocad 2012-64Bit , Naviswork 2013 , Inventor Ultimate 2014-64 Bit , Bentley Autoplant V8i - SS4 version : 8.11.9.140 ,MS-Office 2010 - 64 Bit.

Trying to scale a viewport in AutoCAD 2010, and ran into this error "Error: AutoCAD variable setting rejected: "cvport" 3". I've scaled viewports all the time, and this is the first time I've ran into this issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I print to PDF I seem to get a tiny scaling error. If I print directly from Autocad the drawing is scaled perfectly. When I print exactly the same drawing as a pdf the scale is slightly out.
I think it could be the paper size I am selecting- I dont really understand the difference between the ISO full bleed- expand ect..
I get a AutoCAD LT Error Aborting window with the contents FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0034 Exception at 265d985fh when I attempt to plot using a custom created border that is imported into paper space using a .dwt file for a new drawing.
The error occurs with both 2013 LT and a fresh install of 2014 LT and is limited to one computer / user with another computer / user with the same software not having the issue using the same .dwt file.
The error occurs when plotting to any plotter including the DWG to PDF plot selection.
A user is having issues with plotting from AutoCAD LT, when trying attempting a normal plot to PDF the program crashes and he is forced to close it, also when changing the way he plots to plot to DWG PDF it starts to work correctly but brings up a fatal error message as below and attached:
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x0014 Exception at 778e224dh
When I go to plot to pdf in cad (using pdf complete) everything seems fine (preview, settings etc). Then when I click print no box pops up with the option to save the file in a location with the result that there is no resulting pdf file?!
I have looked on the web and asked around the office and no one seems to be able to figure this one out. I have also tried the command FILEDIA with no success. The computer has no problem printing to a printer and this problem seems only to exist using pdf complete.
I am using AutoCad 2000 on Windows XP - and have had no problems for years. today - I went to print out a drawing, and when clicking on plot - or plot preview, it gave me: Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 5e2c36h. My File :
My DWG has one model and one paperspace with view of the model.
Each view can have many viewport and has a cartridge.
My Goal :
I want a PDF File. One view per page.
My method :I have an intermediate step, which create many Postscript File(One per View)
The second step use GhostScript to concate PS Files in a PDF.
The steps:
1st step : Read DWG File to create script file, in order to automate plotting with AccoreConsole.exe. My method give me the point for plotting in a window with both corner.
2d step : Use the Script File and Software like (TRUEVIEW or ACCORECONSOLE(Autocad 2013) to create PS Files.
Last step : Run GhostScript to make my PDF File as I wish.
Problem :
Old method It works with DWGTrueView, but I would like a silent mode for executing.
Solution ==> use AccoreConsole.exe include in Autocad 2013
New method Using Accoreconsole with a ProcessStartInfo, I realized that accoreconsole.exe can raised error that DWGTrueView didn't raised.
It works with some files, but sometimes, it's crashed, and I don't understand why.For exemple, a file that succeed with DWGTrueView
We receive site survey dwgs generated in Civil 3D that contain 3D topos with elevation tags. The elevation tags are clearly scalabe anno objects that scale correctly in the received civil dwg. The elevation tags won't scale correctly in our dwgs - they come in too small to see.
- Both dwg's have units set to decimal.
- I tried copying / pasting the viewport from the civil dwg to our dwg and the text is still too small. This tells me it's a dwg specific variable and not a viewport setting.
- I have Civil 3D object enabler installed, though I don't think this has any bearing.
It would be nice to use the original tags and not have to re-create every elevation tag.
I have a drawing that was given to me by an architect with a scale 1:250 (0.004 in viewport). The architect drew everything in millimeters and it's a Site Plan, why ? I do not know. The units in the drawing are decimal-millimeters.
The page set-up for layout 1 was for 24x36 drawing size (typ.)I know need to make a layout 2 for a sheet size 11x17 but I can not get my viewport to scale correctly. So, if a 24x36 sheet size had a VP with scale 0.004 (1:250) then what is the scale for a sheet size 11x17 ?
