I need drawing borders in special formats - can't use the DIN or ANSI formats. How do i create these special paper sizes / layouts in auto cad 2007?
Example: i need a paper size / layout 56 in wide and 22 in high.
(again): how to create one title block that fits all paper sizes?
In the ArcGIS, the same layout can fit all paper sizes and there is no need to customize the layout for each paper size manually. For example, if the map is set up based on A4 paper size and then needed to be printed in A0 size, then all the lay out elements will be automatically proportionally changed to fit the new paper size.
I’m not sure if there is an equivalent features in the AutoCAD that handle this issue
i have line in the drawing that exists on layer A-Wall it has different lineweight 0.05 from true wall. Now usually my routine : i select this line and then select similar to convert it to layer glazing.
i need lisp that by one command convert the objects on layer A-wall with layer 0.05 only to glazing.
I`m using AutoCAD2004 with HP Designjet 800 Plotter.
The Plotter is connected to network.
I want to add some Custom Paper Sizes, however, when I open the options for the plotter(User-defined Paper sizes&calibration), I can`t add or modify paper sizes. The `Add` button is not available.
I set my computer to `Power Users` but still cant add. How to make the `Add` or `Delete` buttons usable?
Trying to change the printable area of custom paper sizes?
I've plotter that allows me to create 5 custom paper sizes for each pc3 file, however after create them, i cant always access to change their printable area, you know adjusting their margins, and the strange thing is that this error doesn’t happen all the time,sometimes after a while trying they work, but just for a couple of times, after that the problem remains.

To be more clear, you can see on the image that it doesn’t recognize the custom paper size i have selected, however it works from time to time, allowing me to edit those margins, and after save them, they work just fine and i can use those paper sizes with no problems.
I've tried to edit the pc3 file through windows, and a message appears saying that an unknown error has occurred.
I "lost" the ability to plot to standard architectural paper sizes when my dialog box opens. I only have standard paper sizes and other non-architectural related options.
I can still plot to my cute pdf, but only on 8.5x11. I need 11x17, 24x36, etc.etc.
When printing on Epson printers (4800,4880,4900) in the Photoshop print settings dialogue box it won't allow me to print at a custom paper size using the sheet or manual feed settings. The paper feed option defaults to Roll Paper when I create the custom paper size, and then when I change it and try and save the settings it just reverts back to roll paper.
If I try and send a print after this then the printer won't accept it because it's being told to print on a roll instead of sheet. Why is this?? I'm using CS6 and OS 10.7 and I've never experienced this problem with any previous Photoshop/ Mac OS X before.
Is it possible to add a custom paper size to Gimp? I have a new HP wide format printer and was looking for a capability to customize the paper size. Hewlett Packard and Microsoft have said that the customization of paper size is application specific even though Microsoft tells you can customize paper size through server properties , which on my XP machine will not save the custom settings.

I'm trying to write an application that creates a .idw drawing from a .ipt file in vb.net.
Now I want to predefine a layout, where the projected views should gonna be, independent which .ipt file I have.
Do I create a new .idw and make it look like I want, then save it and open it within the application?
But if I change the savepath it ask me where the file (.ipt) is.
So now I could choose my one, right? But how can I choose my .ipt file in the application?
It won't let me do an operation like openwith or something like that.
Or does there exists another way to predefine a layout?
I am using CS 2 on a Mac. I've created about 40 custom paper sizes. They display in random order in the drop down menu. Is this normal and is there any way to organize them?

I know that we can create up to 255 layouts and sometimes more. Is there a variable settings that could have gone wrong inasmuch that the maximum layouts is now 6?

When I try to see the size of the first object created it says that has the same size like the other objects which have other sizes (it's even obvius cause they r bigger on my screen:D).With all the other versions of Corel i didn't had those problems, but X5 does that.
Lisp that can create layouts (using a dwt--I would code in the file path to my dwt) reading data from a csv file??? I would create the drawings ahead of time, all I would need is to run the lisp and it would create all the layouts in those dwgs and name them according to the csv.
The csv file contains the drawing names in column A and the layout names in column B. So, what I want to do is create "n" number of layouts in specific dwgs, using the cell data it reads from column A--which are the drawing names, and then rename all those layouts with the cell data from B--note it would not create duplicate (existing) tabs. This way I can re-run it later to add new layouts to the drawings as needed.
The reason is that I work on projects with several hundred layouts--thus the need to create layouts more easily across as many drawings as necessary. Instead of renaming/deleting a ton of layouts; it would be easier to start with a minimal template(s) and have the lisp create the exact number of layouts we need instead of going back and making a ton of edits. Since the csv is created at the beginning of the project, any changes later (adding layouts), can easily be done by running the lisp again.
Example for creating layouts for the zoomed portion in the model space.. Im able to zoom the drawing sheet but im not able to create layout for that sheet..See my attachment ..i created layouts manually(layout1,layout2,layout3)....But i dont know how to do this in .net API.

Before I begin a project, I have to create the Sheet List (in Excel) and the csv file. The csv file is needed because I have a lisp routine that reads the csv and updates all my Title Block attributes in all my drawings. (VERY sweet program) What I'm wanting to do, is create new layouts (using my dwt) based on the information in the csv file. So, when I start a new project all I need to do is create the base drawing files first. Then, in my csv file I've got those drawing names listed in Column A and their corresponding sheet titles (Layout names) in Column B. I run the lisp and it reads the csv and creates layouts in all those base drawings and naming the layouts with the sheet titles from column B.

I have (unfortunately) the necessity to modify into some files (which are used as models) the print style preset.
These files, which are necessary for the realization of electrical diagrams, have inside hundreds of layout.
Each layout set default printing parameters, so as "Laser b/n.pc3," as the paper size "A4" scale "Scale to Fit", and plot style "Schemi.ctb", etc. ..
Is there a way to create a macro (a field unknown to me) or something similar, to automatically change in all the default layout, for example, the printer "Colori.pc3" and the print style in "Schemi_colori.ctb "?
I am a Mac user. When I go to create PDF's,each sheet comes out quite large. Can I create smaller PDF file sizes without loosing resolution?

I used Dynamic Blocks before and live the idea of changing sizes on the fly with out having to delete and recreate an object.. I got as far as creating an angle of different sizes, i.e.. 4x4, 5x5, etc. and different thickness but can't get the thickness to work with the radius of the angle.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a large building project with multiple linked files (building split into blocks plus furniture etc models) with shared co-ordinates. All are working fine except one which happens to be a furniture and equipment model. When sections and/or elevations are placed in either the host or the linked file the views do not corrospond with the cut line of the section or view line of the elevation, for example if I place an elevation within a room the elevation looks as if it has been placed in a different position some metres away. When the files are linked within each other using the shared co-ordinates they place themselves in plan and elevation perfectly. I am trying to create room elevations to show furniture/equipment layouts and this is making it impossible!

We like to allow user to select a rectagular area in modal scpace. Then the code creates a paperscace viewport in a spcified layout. The viewport will show the selected area. find the old VBA code that achived this and the .net code I am trying with. .Net code always gives some exception.

Im trying to create a new paper size preset in PS CS6. I was told if I went to my PS folder, I will find a folder named presets. Inside that folder there should be a text document called "New Doc Sizes.txt" but it's not there. where I might find this text file in a presets folder?
I have a C drive, but my folder for CS6 is on my D drive. I use Windows Ultimate 7 x64.
I created the torn paper effect on a screen print using CS5.
How can I use this same modified image to create a mask that I can use on other screen prints?
