View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the blueprints for a Cobra Helicopter, and the side and front blueprints are not lining up correctly at all. I am not sure if this may be an issue with the actual blueprints themselves, or something I may be doing incorrectly. Below illustrates the problem, the green and red lines show areas where the front and side blueprints do not line up at all. Here are the blueprints I am using, I cropped both the front and side blueprints from the top and bottom most point. [URL]

I'm a hobbyist model builder, and I'm starting my first, homemade model. It's going to be a miniature of Wimbeldon's famed centre court. While, the object is not to make an exact miniature version of the real thing, I would like to make it as accurate as possible.
That said, I need to create a sketch (see examples @ [URL) based on real pictures of the stadium. Is there a way to do this using Illustrator? I've tried the various trace options, but nothing even comes close to accomplishing this. I hampered by my inability to draw freehand and my lack of experience with CAD programs.

Or are these things I need to create myself?...I see the "tool palettes" box but it seems to have a random selection of stuff labeled "Imperial Samples" leading me to believe there might be other stuff elsewhere.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a drawing from a client where the architectural ticks display very large. The leader arrow shows as the correct size but the dimension tick does not. I went into the dimension style manager (dimstyle) and everything seems to be in order. The tick size is set up to be 1/16". I tried to dredge up out of my memory the autocad variables that mess with the size of the archtectural ticks like "dimasz" and "dimblk", but with no luck.
Currently using Autocad 2013.
As a part of an other recent topic (Interop 32/64 COM - Acad Mechanical),In VB.NET, how can I easily be sure to be in a Mechanical AutoCAD with every specific interfaces loaded (SymBBAuto, AcadmAuto...)?
I tried to get specific system variable like "AMVER" but this does not work.
I tried a "Try... Catch" while using "GetInterfaceObject", but this does not work at any time... sometimes I got fatal errors.I don't want to use the caption of the AutoCAD window, it is not enough reliable for me.
I have an old dwg that I used to add new data to. I also inserted a block produced by Revit to get a building elevation. I am not sure when or how it happend, but my drawing scale units are stuck on arch. I am talking about the bottom right hand corner of the screen on the status bar where there is the spot to set drawing scale. When I open by clikcing the arrow all the scales are in architectural units. I can add a custom scale of 1"=100', but it does not otherwise appear in the list. I wasn't going to wrry about it, but when I layout a plan/pro series they do not seem to be scaling correctly (and I cannot find a place to specify what scale I want the views to be at). UNITS, -DWGUNITS & -AECDWGUNITS don't fix it, they are all set to decimal, etc. Using the seetings tab to change the drawing settings, everything is set to feet, there is no place to specify arch units, the 100 scale drawing is shown as a custom scale.
This is C3D release 2012, on a 64bit Win7 Pro machine, everything is up to date.
Where I can change the units for the drawing scale?
C3D 2012 on 64bit Win 7 all up to date

NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have to add dimensions to an architectural drawing in model space
The file is drawn in decimal units (1unit=1meter)
Now I have been asked to ad dimensions in feet and inches to the drawing in order to make it usable to UK
I know that the solution is to use alternate units with Architectural units format, but how mach is the multiplier that I have to use?
I have no experience in British metric system.
So I left the multiplier 25.4 as AutoCAD prompt.
2.81 meters equals to 5'-11 1/4” ?

It is possible to save from AutoCAD 2012 Mechanical back to REGULAR AutoCAD 2006 Lite? I am updating files on my computer with 2012 Mechanical but have to email them back to the original computer (which only has AutoCAD Lite) to print them out. I wouldn't think it would matter if the save format is AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 as long as it is still a .dwg file, correct?

I have a problem with some step files I recieved from a vendor for an assembly. Basically what is happening is I download the step file. Then bring it into Mechanical Desktop. When brought into Mechanical desktop, it is downloaded in metric where my entire assembly is in standard/english format. What I did when I had Inventor 2011 is bring the step file into inventor, go to document settings and switch the unit to inch from mm. Then save the step file and when I brought it into Mechanical desktop it was in the correct unit and scale.
Now with 2012 Inventor, when I bring the step file in, it is automatically in english/standard format. So I save the step file out and try to open it in Mechanical desktop only to have the file back into mm and 25.4x the actual size it should be.
how to save the step file out like in 2011 to make sure the unit is saved in the correct format. This is extremely aggrevating and waste of time. I would have had the part reverse engineered by now if i quit trying to use the vendors standard step files.
This problem doesn't only happen with a certain vendor's drawings either, it goes for all step files I have recieved since getting Inventor2012.
I have a problem with print from Autodesk Mechanical on a HP Designjet 500 24.
The system is a Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
When I select the printer, the printer returns to "none".
I have tried several drivers, the HP Designjet 500 plus 24 or HP DesignJet 500 24+HPGL2 card.
I can select the HP DesignJet 500 24+HPGL2 card, but since that driver is incorrect for my printer, it doesn't print.
I have found this same problem for a HP Designjet T610.
Here is says to use a driver version from 10 feb 2010 or later. But there isn't any driver around or after this date for the HP Designjet 500.
Other program's can print just fine through the original HP Designjet 500 24 driver.
I have a parameter length that is currently in inches and I would like to use it to populate the description but I would like it to be displayed in Architectural style (i.e. 12’-3”). I would also like to have it round up to the nearest 3”.
