I have a user that is getting what appears to be streaks on his drawings.
The video card has the latest driver.
I ask how often this happens and he states:
Almost every time I have a large 3d drawing ..or multi 3d drawings open (which is often the case)
I have code that works just fine in AutoCad 2010 (just plain ol' AutoCad), but will not run completely in AutoCad Mechanical 2012. The code will draw lines, arcs, circle, plines, etc. as well as insert blocks. The command to insert the block has the entire block path so I don't have to rely on setting that up for everyone.
In AutoCad Mechanical only the blocks show up. No lines, arcs or anything else is drawn. I do not use a command method (like in LiSP) to create those objects, I create them through the block table and block table records.
What do I have to do to get my code to run in AutoCad Mechanical 2012?
It is possible to save from AutoCAD 2012 Mechanical back to REGULAR AutoCAD 2006 Lite? I am updating files on my computer with 2012 Mechanical but have to email them back to the original computer (which only has AutoCAD Lite) to print them out. I wouldn't think it would matter if the save format is AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 as long as it is still a .dwg file, correct?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 and received a .DXF file that contains 'solid' objects. Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines (and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc). Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD?
I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'.
What am I missing here?
why with autocad 2012 mechanical, I can't no more embed PDF or Images to a drawing but only load it as references, linked to a file path?
Previously I used Autocad 2009 MEC and there wasn't this problem.
I shall fix this because, when I load a dwg to our company management system, the pdf or images shall be embed to the dwg file.
If I load the pdf as OLE Object, it doesn't lock the view and the pdf zoom canghe with the dwg zoom, so it is acceptable.
I have users using AutoCAD 2010 - both Architecture and Mechanical. My questions; are the Callout tools that are available in Architecture also available for Mechanical? I am looking to see if we can find the same toolbar(s)?

Fatal error with some hex memory addresses displayed. DwgTrueview opens and displays the dwg. just fine. AutoCAD R14 & 2000 open the file with no problem as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using background masking in Mtext to cover up the mechanical piping in our drawings. It works fine in AutoCAD, but we convert the drawing to pdf and then send the pdf to the printer to make prints. Now
the background masking is not working. You get a line going through the text.
I have noticed on my drawings that have a hatch transparency (does not matter the percentage), that in CAD everything is fine, but as soon as I plot to pdf, the pdf image will have a lot of streaking in the transparency(there is no streaking in the preview window).
No matter the transparency or colour, the streaking remains very obvious. Some functionality I am missing?
Is this supported by Autodesk, and will installing both products create any issues?

Once it happens on one drawing it effects all open drawings and the only thing I have been able to do to get rid of it is to close out all drawings and restart AutoCAD. Attached is a screen shot since its' hard to describe.

I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
When I use the spot healing brush, streaks or lines occur? How do I stop this. It usually happens when my picture has a strong contrast in colors between the background and the person's clothing or face..
View 7 Replies View RelatedOne of the clients at my work is experiencing difficulty printing using AutoCAD LT 2012. When he prints, only a blank page comes out of the printer. I have tested the printer and I am sure it works properly. It printed both a Windows test page and a color photo with no problems, which is leading me to believe that he has a setting within the program that should be changed.

What does this mean and what can I do to be able to open the drawing in AuotCAD Map 3D?
I am facing the following problem in Autocad 2012:
I have set all the drawings I want to print in the Sheet Set Manager and I publish everything to plotter for unattended plotting. However, when publishing the same drawings to PDF using the SSM, all raster images do no print. If I open each drawing and plot the same layout on its own, everything prints just fine. So I think there is something wrong when publishing through the SSM.
The funny thing is that before using Autocad 2012 I was using version 2010 and everything worked as expected, the raster images were printed no matter where I was printing from.
I use a user-defined hatch often - just 45 degree lines say 4" apart in model space. In 2009 I could make this annotative and the paper distance between those lines would remain the same as long as I made sure the hatch had the appropriate annotive scales associated with it.
In 2012 when I try to do the same thing, the hatch stays at the same Model space spacing in every viewport even though the viewports have different annotative scale AND the hatch has matching annotative scales.
I've downloaded it several times, but it seems it just will not install.

I´ve started at a school which is using autodesk inventor 2010, but on my computer I have autodesk inventor 2012, and I can´t find the way to open the homework I do at home on the school computers.
It is supossed that my inventor 2012 saves the files in 2010 format as I can read on the settings, but when I open it on the 2010 in shows me an error message about that it´s not possible open this file. Also I´ve tried to save as 2007 format, but it can´t open it.
I'm having a problem with everytime i try to use the copy,move or rotate command on my autocad 2012 i ended up with a delay and if i click the mouse it freezes and then say autocad not responding then it shots down.

I know how to get the XY coordinates but I don't know how to import these points (as a .txt file?) into ACAD. What function would I use? Spline? If so how do I get it to draw all the points I have? I need to then extrude the shape to be able to mill airfoil sections...that part I can figure out....just need to import the points to get a nice curve.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to 2012 yesterday. Today I've noticed that WIPEOUTs no longer have grips when they are selected. It also seems as though they cannot be modified via the STRETCH command.
All I can think of off the top of my head is to explode the wipeout, isolate the elements, reassemble them as a polyline, modify as desired and then recreate the wipeout from the polyline. But that's hardly efficient.
No grips wasn't too bad, but not responding to a stretch seems stupid. We use wipeouts in many of our blocks. We may take one block and modify it to create another similar block. Recreating the wipeouts because they wouldn't stretch or couldn't be easily modified to adapt to the new geometry will be a real waste of time.

We are using AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2012 on the same drawings. It is slowing the drawings down in AutoCAD 2011. There is at least one person that only has AutoCAD 2012 on their machine.
