When I export a intervenor file to jpeg or pdf, the edges are not smooth at all under the link, the jep file has the edges that are jagged up and not smooth. Are there settings to make the edges smoother or smooth when you export them to jpeg or anything.

Smoother (finer) presentation for the contour,
In the screenshot below, the contour looks “ugly”! Is there a way to make it much more smoother like what we see for example in the second screenshot .
My part does everything I want with threads but the other option I need to program is a straight hole with no threads. I assume I can do this with Param for the existing hole but not sure what it would be called? Is there a list or method of determining what these parameters are called so I'll be able to find them in the future?

Currently, I am working on a drawing which has surfaces. Though I saved the view rep without those surfaces, still I am getting it in drafting. I have unchecked assosiative in drawing view rep still no use.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that my assemblies are turning transparent when I edit them anymore. It was working the other day and I haven't changed any settings or downloaded any service packs so I don't know why it stopped doing this and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it start again. I have just recently upgraded (if you want to call it an upgrade) to Inventor Pro 2013 from 2011 so I'm not quite sure how to change everything else.

Ive started at a company where all of their parts and assemblies have all of the work planes, axis and points visible. Im getting bored of going view, object visibility, turn off all work features everytime i open a new model. Anything written that will turn off these features and only turn them back on when requested.
basically im looking for a shortcut, rather than opening every part and assembly and doing it manually.
I have a drawing which is referencing a .ipn model, the .ipn model has all of it's trail line invisible however the drawing is showing them all visible. What I am trying to do is find a simple and quick way to turn off the visibility of ALL the trail lines in the drawing without having to pick out each one and ajust manually, The model .ipn is quite complicated and has many trails on it so I really need a way to turn off the visibility of these in the drawing.

Is there a way to automate the process of turning off the Work features in a .iam and STILL be able to add new Work features. View>Object Visibility is not the answer because you are unable to construct NEW Work features. If there isn't a menu selection, can a “batch file” be developed to search the Browser and turn off all Work features currently listed in the tree?

I downloaded the .stl file from here, which is a very detailed model of 20mb size:

it can be opened in inventor and is shown as a mesh object. Then I tried the plugin "Autodesk Mesh Enabler" to turn it into a solid. After almost an hour it produced something of 350mb, but it cannot be opened anymore, it crashes inventor immediately. Are there any settings to that plugin to reduce the number of elements that it creates?
I heard Mesh4CAD is a similar tool for autocad. I am installing autocad now, hoping that it is more powerful for these kind of things...
I just need to take measurements and attach new objects to the model, or can this somehow be enabled for mesh objects as well, without converting?
When I enable the structured bom in an iAssembly that contains an iPart it is attempting to generate all members before it will enable the bom. This doesn't work as the iAssembly and iPart have 1800 variations each. Our servers cannot handle taking up that amount of space. I did the exact same procedure for a different part and the bom did not populate in this manner. The only difference is that the iProperties comment changes based on which part is selected.

All of a sudden when i create a circle on the origin it is not turning green and constraining the circle to it. Also when i am creating a line from the midpoint of another line the midpoint is not turning green and the line is not constrained to that point. I have checked the autoproject origin box in the appl settings and it is active.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't control the section participation of individual parts or subasy in a IDW view. I want to have some parts & subs sectioned in the view & others not sectioned. They seem to follow whatever the IAM is set for. Note that I do not want to control the section participation in each Model from Documentation/Model/Particiapation becasue it will screw up other drawings referencing the models. Besides, I tried it & it stil wouldn't work.
The complicated part is that the view can be a cropped or detail view of a section view that is the child of the parent view-(I had to do it this way to get the view I needed).
is it even possible to individually control the sectioning in parts of nested views?
The RMB controls are available to do so but nothing happens, even if I close & open the file again.
Sometimes the RMB menu/Section Participation shows little filled in squares next to Sectioned & None. If I click on either, it becomes a check mark.
This happens every time I save as to dwg, it's very annoying.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere in my office we have several pc's running Inventor 2012 and we found out that when a network license is unavailable (the number of licenses is exceeded) then Inventor loses some of its configurations on OPTION window. The fields that are erased and put back to default:
- "General" Tab >> "Load VBA on start-up" is set to false;
- "General" Tab >> "Update physical properties on save" is set to false and "Parts and Assemblies" is unchecked;
- "File" Tab >> "Default VBA project" is set back to default;
- "Contet Center" Tab >> "Location of Libraries" is set to default
- Customized buttons on Ribbonbar loses its icons and we have to recreate them everytime it happens.
have a fix and a new implementation for the new versions to come?

Is there a way to do this with photoshop? They done that graphic with Powerpoint I believe.
I am attempting to create a curve with the path tool and it seems like if I have a deep curve the curve becomes smooth but if I have a shallow curve (which is what I want), the curve is jagged and not very smooth - see attached thumbnail.
I've tried to convert the path to a selection then sharpen the selection and also add a feather to the selection to try and smooth it out but I have not been successful. How can I get this shallow curve I want but also get the curve nice and smooth?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIm having issues using the mirror function in the "move tool".I select mirror geometry with these options : -x, merge with original, and merge vertices.
This copies my model and allows me to adjust both sides of the model by selecting a single vertex on either side.
"Is there a way I can set Maya to also mirror my cut poly and smoother operations?" As it stands now, Only the vertex's that existed when i mirror geometry are visable on both halves.
Also my center vertices are not attached to each other. So when i try to apply smoothing to the entire model it smooths right through the center of the head, basically creating two halves. Both halves are registering as the same poly.
How can you set by default the ''shades with edges'' visual style by default ? I always work with that visual style, I have to set it every time I open a part or assembly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm rendering at 1920x1080HD 25fps. Used the expression found on numerous threads including this one to generate whole number pixel shifts per frame.

I generated the text and images in InDesign and exported as a PDF. Imported PDF into AE. Have tried a few whole number values for s including 4 and still getting judder.
Generated to H264 and Apple Pro Res codecs doesn't seem to make much difference to judder.Here is my AE project with PDF. Here is output as H264 (40MB).
Also included a Quartz Composer file .where I created the same whole number pixel movement as AE but rendering it out in Quartz Crystal I get different judder but no better. Quartz Composer previews in real time and Quartz Crystal renders same project that took some 16min+ in AE in about 30 seconds. But no smoother output — even when applying AA and Motion Blur at render time.
Any video encoder where I can down-sample say a 75 fps render to 25 fps with frame blending? Does Apple's Compressor do frame blending? What about some other app that I can get this out smoothly from. I have FCP installed but have never done a title in it either.
Since my Dell only has 60Hz at full native res (2560x1440) I set it to 1080p and selected 50Hz to see if that effected anything but it makes absolutely no difference to playback smoothness.

I want the tangent edges to be displayed automatically when I insert a drawing view rather than clicking the Display Options tab and checking the Tangent Edges box every time I make a new drawing. Is this possible? If so, how?
I tried inserting a view, checking the Tangent Edges box, then deleting my view and re-saving the template but it still went back to the default.
