Jul 19, 2011I am creating a set of parametric stairs. All of my constraints are in place for my 2 main work points. I am now trying to make an associative path array to depict the stair treads. Path array works great initially, however when I change my variables for stair height, my stair treads tilt with my work line in such a way that they're no longer parallel to the floor.
The angle of the stairs must be variable as it will change from one set of stairs to another. All that said, I am wondering if there is some variable or command that will make the treads retain their ucs orientation regardless of the angle of my path line. I've tried every option while creating the array with no luck.

Sep 19, 2012I'm trying to use the PATH array feature on 2013 to array stairs, and I can't get the array to be 100% accurate. It seems like CAD rounds the decimal to the nearest 3/4" which could be causing the problem.
I set my run to 10.5" and rise to 7.25", array along the angle of the stringer, and there's always a small overlap on the stairs. The "distance between" should be 1'-209/256" and CAD rounds it to 1'-3/4" which is where I believe the error is. Is there any way to fix this or array this correctly? Otherwise...back to the COPY method I suppose.

Sep 19, 2011I need a path on a sphere like on the image I attached (sphere_spiral) for the result similar to image called "gomb". The only problem, metric spiral or coil / 3d helical curve path won't work because it doesn't end the result I need, because the lines are converging each other. So, I figured out I need a logarithmic spiral 2D sketch or maybe a sinusoidal path.
I need a path from the sphere's top center point to the bottom center point, projected to its surface with equal distance of lines.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Creating Flat Pattern Of A Coil / Spiral Shape?
Sep 25, 2012Is there a way to unfold a coil shape to get the flat pattern? When I try to unfold the attached part I get an error message (see attached error_msg.jpg). We have been using AutoPOL to unfold these kind of shapes (which works fine). But since we have a very old version which we really need to upgrade, I was wondering if nowadays Inventor could handle coil unfolds.
If this will not work with the current IV2013 release, will this then be implemented in a future release? Are there any alternatives or should I just go for the AutoPOL upgrade?

1.Make pattern of workpoints in part file.
2.Make pattern of components in assembly file to follow part pattern.
1st part is easy and done with coil and pattern within the ipt
2nd part does not let me select the workpoints as feature pattern.

Aug 31, 2012I've been using Tile to create an array from a jpeg image to use as a background for a website I'm building using Weebly. The original images display fine in Weebly, and when I use Tile to create the array the resulting image looks flawless in GIMP and in the picture viewer on my desktop. However, when the image is uploaded to Weebly it displays as though the original layer has been duplicated in GIMP and tiled manually and badly, i.e. leaving white space along edges, incorrect alignment of tiles.

I need to pass a multidimensional array as an argument to the DLL, but when I try to run the code I get an error that says "Number of indices exceeds the number of dimensions of the indexed array."

The errors occur on the sData(0,i) and the sData(1,i)
I left all the database code off, because passing the array is the big issue I believe.

Dec 7, 2013I have sometimes an array with 10x45=450 assemblies. Because this slows down my computer dramaticly I use LOD to suppress parts within the assembly. The problem is that I have to expand every single assembly in the array, select all of them and than choose the LOD I want. This takes me a lot of time. Is there a way I can select all assemblies within an array with one (or two) clicks?

It should use integer numbers only- as there is room for 25.5 elements it reduces the number of elements to 25.
The array should be be dependent on a measurement to make comparision by eye obsolete, as well as the array is to produce the right number of elements as soon as the space available is measured.
