AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Draw A Spiral Garden Hose

And would it be possible to make it flexible?

I'm trying to draw a spiral bevel gears system KLINGELNBERG , but the results do not match the actual measurements of the piece.
ex. measure of the real outside diameter of the gear = 356mm
DATA :
number of teeth pinion = 9
number of teeth gear = 44
module = 5
shaft angle = 90 °
face width = 59mm
helix angle = 35 °
pressure angle = 20 °
I'm putting flexible hoses in an assembly and need to use a few different sizes. So I create run1 and set the hose to be 1/2" hose. Then I create a run2 and change the hose size to 1/4" but it also changes the size of the hose in run1. Is this supposed to happen? How can I get two different sizes of hose?
I've just been going down to the sweep feature which makes the hose and adding dimensions to the ID and OD so I can control the size. This is a pain and doesn't seem like what should need to be done. Is there a way to have different hose runs be different sized hose?
I downloaded a hose fitting ipt file from the Parker website and did the Tube and Pipe Authoring thing to put it into the content center as a new family in a new read/write library. When I browse for it to use as the Start Fitting on my hose, the new family does not appear in the list. What is my problem?
The new library is checked in my Projects configuration. I have been monkeying with the NS column of the family and can't seem to get it back to its original format now.
I need to model up a convoluted flexible hose as a component part for use in an assembly. What is the best approach to creating this with a realistic and natural look?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to make a 1/8" diameter flexible hose, but the sizes listed for the Parker Hydraulic Hose only go down to 1/4". The closest solution I could find is here:
[URL]........
Here is what I did:
In my assembly, click "Place From Content Center"
Find "Parker Hydraulic Hose"
When I right click on it, the only selection is "Add to Favorites"
Double click on "Parker Hydraulic Hose"
Go to "Table View" tab
Right click on a row, but there is no "Input" selection.
I had a hydraulic hose connected to an elbow fitting and now it has been changed a straight fitting.
What is the proper way to do this so that it is still adaptive?
And how can I reconnect the hose to the new fitting and have it adaptive?
How can i increase the size of the hose beyond 2" max that Pipe&Run allows it to be? I need the hose more for a visual rather then its acual function. I'm guessing i gonna have to change its paremeters right? if so, how do i and what needs changed?

I want to use these dimensions, and then flatten the part so my fab shop can trace it and cut the sections, bend them and weld together, but when i use the flatten command, nothing happens..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need a path on a sphere like on the image I attached (sphere_spiral) for the result similar to image called "gomb". The only problem, metric spiral or coil / 3d helical curve path won't work because it doesn't end the result I need, because the lines are converging each other. So, I figured out I need a logarithmic spiral 2D sketch or maybe a sinusoidal path.
I need a path from the sphere's top center point to the bottom center point, projected to its surface with equal distance of lines.
why this spiral will not flatten properly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to unfold a coil shape to get the flat pattern? When I try to unfold the attached part I get an error message (see attached error_msg.jpg). We have been using AutoPOL to unfold these kind of shapes (which works fine). But since we have a very old version which we really need to upgrade, I was wondering if nowadays Inventor could handle coil unfolds.
If this will not work with the current IV2013 release, will this then be implemented in a future release? Are there any alternatives or should I just go for the AutoPOL upgrade?

It is all about making a spiral shaped pattern of parts around an axle.
what I found in a topic is:
1.Make pattern of workpoints in part file.
2.Make pattern of components in assembly file to follow part pattern.
1st part is easy and done with coil and pattern within the ipt
2nd part does not let me select the workpoints as feature pattern.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just did a competition that required a garden. Lacking time to fully research Revit options, I ended up creating a topo and cutting paths into it by using building pads for the paths, requiring a lot of tinkering with the topo elevations. This was far from ideal because I wanted to alter things later, but it was just too labor intensive to do that and I ran out of time.
Any (cheap!) program that would work well for this? Something that could export a file that could be linked into Revit?
It would be very nice if a version of "building pad" could be created by Autodesk that would work as a sidewalk/path and that could also have a slope.
Another problem with this was that I had to position all the topo points along the path wall borders at a low elevation because the topo "bled" into the walls as it sloped up from them. Another great thing would be if Revit sidewalk pads could have borders that also "cut" topo.
You see, one of the slides needs to be a spiral type. It has to be 175 (units-in my case cm) tall and 60 (units) ride so the bigger kids can slide down no problem.
My problem is making the 2D (and thus 3D) image. I'm not to sure how to go about this. I've tried doing the HELIX command but it's seemingly impossible to match up the two spirals to create the constant width and even create the slide.
How to make an array in a spiral?
Without first arraying down, then polar, then deleting the extras?

I m trying to draw some stairs but really struggling in even finding a place to start. Basically I have a large cylinder which an access platform, I need to put some stairs to it as per the as fitted drawing which is lacking in info to say the least. I know the diameter of the tank, and the length of the stairs as the leave the platfor to the ground. I also know the floor elevation height, just not got a clue where to start.
Forgot to mention the angine of the spiral staircase in 40degrees.
slice the spiral stair as per the section.

I attached a draw of a spiral column that I 'd like to make into a 3D solid.
