I have a users machine that is displaying some odd behaviour. Their Macros and VBA Editor buttons have stopped working. We have tried several things already but nothing appears to have any effect.
View 9 RepliesI am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

When I select "Start Simulation" from the Add-Ins tab, nothing happens. The hourglass comes up for a split second, but nothing launches. We have Simulation 2012 Mechanical installed on the machines. I have tried with both parts & assemblies. Obviously we can launch both applications separately but it's nice to go back and forth using the quick launch.
The machines are both Windows 7 Pro (latest service packs) as well as Inventor & Simulation 2012 (Product Design Suite Premium to be exact.) Inventor has the latest service pack SP1 installed. This did work in previous versions of Inventor.
I've checked everywhere else for a solution but none apply to me it seems. My keyboard shortcut for returning to the home isometric view (F6) is not working. F3, F4, & F5 all work fine. I've tried returning the cursor focus back to the model window and that doesn't work. I also made sure the shortcut is actually listed in the Customize menu, I even reset all to default in case something was changed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI sometimes create parts while working in an assembly. This hasn't been an issue but something mysterious happened. Once I create my new part, to get back to the assembly ( turn off the transparency)
I typically press the Return button which is normally in the first tab (this example shows I created a sheet metal part)but for some reason the return button is now in the inspect Tab??I tried looking through the customize ribbon form and can't seem to put the button back into the first tab?
macros are all disabled and i remembered there is a command to disable all the events but i could not figure out where exactly it is located and even i tried to reinstall the using modiy and repair twice times to install the software but still persists to activate the macros.
all the macros are grayed out and even Alt F11 also not working.
I have made some macros and now with the 2012 version of Inventor it is very very slowly to open the dialog box to choose a macro. I have the windows cursor during 30 second in each time I want to select a macro.
When I have made a shortcut for one of my macros it goes good and quikly.
Macros in inventor drawing are not activating or it is not automatically generating vba codes.
when creating macros and i assign dimensions to objects but the macros are not generating any codes.
Inventor 2010:
when i create a note in an assembly (accidentally, we never use them), all my macros refuse to run from the buttons in the "User Commands" panel.
Why? Bug? What's happening to cause this? Can we programmatically remove or disable the "Create Note" option from the right-click menu?
If I set a keyboard shortcut for a macro, it will function properly until the session is closed. When Inventor is opened again, the shortcut will not be on the keyboard customization list. So far, all shortcuts for regular Inventor functions, and even Add-Ins, will stay present when the session is closed and opened. I've been able to reproduce this on a co-worker's computer, so I don't believe it is an issue related to my system.

It happens when I press the tools/macros buttonand it can take 30 sec or more before the macros dialog release and active or I can try to run windows job list which seems to release the jam too.It also happens when I try to run my macro with shortcut key or customized button. It freezes before the macro even loads. If I open the macros editor and run the macro from there (run sub) then there is no delay at all!

Short of converting to an add-in is there any way to place macro's into toolbars where you can set the Text of the button to something other than the macro name?
I mean, while to those who write them, there's nothing wrong (really) with a command button titled Invoke_This_Fuction or InvokeFunction, it looks quite odd to everyone else.
If the only way is via add-in, that's fine (though a friendly display name should be an option). Just trying to find out before I spend a boatload of time only to figure out you can't
Also, do all add-ins 'have' to be installed? Or is there a way you can just drop a file in the correct path and it'll appear on next running of Inventor?
We have a problem at work with buttons disappearing from the quick access toolbar.
I already looked around and it is being said that it is a bug, wich can be fixed with a service pack. I work in a big company, and they are refusing to do the service pack.
So the next best thing I can figure is to make a macro, wich will add all the macros I want to the quick access toolbar in assembly level, part level, sketch level and drawing level.

Aside from being completelly baffled by the new 'Asset Editor' arrangements in 2013, I have just realised that my Manage Tab>Additional Settings drop down> Asset Editor button has disappeared. I am certain it was there before as I have used it and WikiHelp [URL] says so. Whilst I have done a repair on my instalation, it is still absent. See the partial sreen print.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to use 3ds Max 2013 at my job, and I have run into a rather painful bug/problem. Every time I open the curve editor, my cursor starts flickering between normal pointer image and hourglass, the buttons in the top of the editor flicker randomly, and I cannot select and type anything in the input boxes in top or bottom. All this flickering lasts for about 10-20 seconds, which is not a long time if it just happened once, but I have noticed that it happens after every time I move a key. What 3ds Max goofed up to cause this problem?

Testing this out, it does not seem to work. Even when the focus icon is depressed it refreshes if I select a different type such as a mesh object after a light.
I have a simple scene set up to test it. A point light,a spot light and a cylinder. Basically the scenario in the description. It always refreshes in focus mode. Clicking on the mesh always gives me the mesh properties rather than sticking to the light properties which was selected first and Focus button depressed. Or clicking on a null also shifts to the null properties.
If there is a way to change the behavior of the middle mouse button in the Node Editor so that by default it moves the panel without needing to press the Alt key?
Ideally I'd like to swap the behavior of pressing the Alt Key + Middle Mouse with just the Middle Mouse.
The new block editor is not working for me;
In the old cad we had the block editor where you can add and remove entities from the block; how will I do that now?

I think there is a serious glitch there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't been able to use the 3D orbiting shortcut since yesterday. I'm using a wireless Microsoft Mouse and keyboard instead of the inbuilt mouse & keyboard on my laptop (which don't seem to be executing the command either).
Up until yesterday I never had any problems orbiting the view.
When I am browsing to open drawings for some reson the back button doesn't work with the ACA2011 file browser. The mouse button works fine with all other applications so am I correct to assume something is wrong with the ACA file browser?

I think the problem is coming from Country Kit. Since I put it and I'm using it as a template, my Civil 3D is coming with THOUSANDS of errors.
I have a Logitech MX 600 cordless mouse. I just updated the SetPoint software as I got a new cordless keyboard. Now, the middle button pan is erratically working. None of the settings has changed. MBUTTONPAN is set to 1. Middle button is still set to "Middle Button."
Sometimes the pan works. Most of the time it doesn't. If there are new setting on the SetPoint software I need to check or uncheck? I've even tried messing with some CUI settings under the mouse component...
