AutoCAD 2013 :: Errors While Working In Block Editor
May 7, 2012
I was trying to edit a dynamic block that made with an earlier version and that had multiple visibility layers and when I would make changes in one visibility layer the change would be in the another layer and poly lines did not have grip points, and insert block would simply disappear. I think there is a serious glitch there.
Running 2014 plain Jane. I have the ribbon turned off. Sometimes (a lot) when I double click a block to edit it my Block Editor Toolbar does not come on. And it is not listed in the acad list of tool bars.
Somehow I switched my UCS without noticing from X,Y,X to Z,Y,X. Though the UCS was changed my layout never switched orientation (flat square remained flat square and did not turn into a line).
I was alerted to the error when inserting the blocks. Half of the blocks were showing up as thin lines (in the Z plane) and half where showing up in the X plane.
I was able to correct the UCS by typing UCS, world view, then PLAN, current.
My question now: How can I fix the blocks that where "created" in the Z plane so that they can be inserted into the X plane without having to 'rotate3d' every time I insert a block?
When I close and save my block from the block editor, AutoCAD send me to 0,0. I then have to zoom extents and then zoom back to where I was working from.
I recently discovered that my AutoCAD would become slow, and selection very choppy, after exiting the block editor. Running a purge, audit or regenall does not solve the problem. I have to quit the program and restart. I've also noticed that this has been happening since 2007. It is not my computer, as I am running Windows 7 x64, with AutoCAD 64 bit.
I installed Autocad 2013 a few weeks ago and I have a lot of blocks made with earlier versions (2008, 2012, etc...) that I need to use. When I try to edit such a block, block editor gives me trouble with visibility states. I can't select visibility states, and when I can, the changes made to that state don't follow and often the program reverts back to the first visibility state for no reason. This is getting to be extremely annoying and I'm thinking of going back to 2012 because of this. Is there a patch or some way to correct this?
Why is the Rtext link in the title block not working for my team members in canada? They are using the same TB as us but for some reason the plot/date stamp shows like the attached pictures
Since AutoCAD 2013, I'm not able to use tracking when inserting block from tool palette. Example, I want to insert a door at 6 inches from a wall. I click the door from the tool palette, leave a tracking point at the wall corner, move the cursor in the right direction and type 6 follow by enter. The door is insert randomly in the drawing. It was working perfectly in previous release.
Actually I had to insert the door anywhere in the drawing and moving it at the right place and rotate it if required, it is very tedious.
I have created a bock in ACAD 2011 LT. I then save the block using the command line or ribbon button then immediately try to close the block editor without moving or changing anything. A dialog appears saying the changes have not been saved to the block and would I like to save? If I say no don't save my changes and reopen the block the changes have in fact been saved.
My question is there a way to get around this dialog box -Suppress it like FILEDIA = 0 for block editor or an option so it doesn't ask me to save.
The goal is to do this all from the command line w/ out dialog boxes.
I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.
My drawing- block is a little bit complicated, it contains few actions and parameters and everytime i open block editor to add, or to modify some action I can't see my drawing because actions grips and parameters grips obscure my drawing. I tried to refresh layout but it doesn't work.
I was in process of editing a block in "block editor" mode. I saved the dwg and exit instead of saving the block, exit block editor and then exit the dwg. When I opened again the dwg what I see on display is just the block. How to close the block and open the entire dwg?
I'm trying to add some attributes to an existing block using the block editor, but after I save and close it I cannot see any 'placeholders' despite adding a default value and the attributes work fine when I double click the block.
I've tried using the ATTSYNC and BATTMAN commands but nothing works and there are no invisibility states applied to either the attribute or block and all layers are switched on.
I just tried making a quick block from scratch and it seems to have the same affect, except the default value will show, but no 'placeholder' shown if left blank.
I swear with previous version I could see the tag when a value hadn't been applied, so is it that the version I now use (2012) does not have this feature or it's disabled?
I have several blocks saved as separate .DWGs, some of which are dynamic. I want to review and test these blocks, but I can't find a way to open the existing block definitions in the Block Editor without first inserting the blocks into a drawing.
I'm editing a title block using the Block Editor. Unfortunatelly after closing the block editor the linse & Polylines reflect the changes apported in nodel space, but the text did not mouve?
is their some command set so it will stop doing that double enter? it just started doing it today. I have closed out autocad, restarted, made sure a key isn't stuck on my keyboard.
I have one work station when you insert the greek symbol mew it comes up as M. I tried a few other greek symbols they same to work correctly. I have tried running a repiar, no change. Opening a drawing which has mew in it already makes it display as M
I have tired to insereting it in diffrent fonts same outcome. I can inseret it onther programs like word, thinking it might be some sort of windows or operating system setting.
copying and pasting mew from word to cad works on all other work stations but this one. We are using Civil3d 2013 on windows 7 machines.
What it might be or a work arounds short of making a block for the symbol from lines.
i installed autocad 2014 and when i can open autocad show this errors and close. erros are changing. but always first one shown.. i search the internet but i cant found solution. i deleted all autocad files and install again but not solved..
I can't install camera raw. I've seen the same problems on the forum already, but unanswered. I get errors: "This is not the right kind of document" "Camera Raw editing is not enabled" I have creative design suite CS4, also bridge cs6. Ive tried uninstalling reinstalling photoshop. When i try both the camera raw 6_4 and 6_5 camera raw update they say "Update failed". When i try to install the Camera Raw 5.2, it gives me an error "Error opening file for writing:
C:ProgramDataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfilesAdobeStandard(all camera types).dcp Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file
My AutoCad 2013 is a bit unstable and crashes fairly often. Autodesk is telling me to install the 64 bit service pack. When I try to run it, I get an error code 1324 (illegal character in My Documents) and error code 1603.
After install the Orgainzer works but the Photo Editor doesn't. When I click the Photo Editor in the splash screen it tells me my trial period is up. I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit
1. Create a document and type some text in a font size, for example I used a 30 points size.
2. Duplicate this layer.
3. Make the text layer it bigger but don't use the Text tool, use Transform. The font size will be shown in the Text panel accordingly. Deselect this layer.
4. If you select the layer or point the Text tool the size will be right (42,66 pt)
5. Select all the text in the layer you just made bigger, the panel will show that text is still 30 points!
I wanted to upload photos to clarify the problem, but the browser disn't allow me to do so, although pics are 450px wide and less than 2.0 MB each.
I am building finished piping assemblies from a collection of smaller parts I have been creating and saving with WBLOCK. I found a mistake on one of my parts(I needed to rotate a piece of pipe). Because the sub-part was part of the complete assembly, I could not rotate the sub-part independently so I opened the block in the block editor. Apparently, and this was my original question, UCS commands do not work in the block editor. The result of this fact was that I could not rotate the sub-assembly in the direction it needed to go. So first question: Can the UCS be moved in the block editor? It focused on exploding blocks that would not explode. I thought if I could simply explode the block back into its component parts, I could rotate the sub-assembly. This is where everything went to hell.
I am not even sure what happened but now I have a new definition of the block that will still not explode, references itself, includes other parts I don't want and is just generally making me PDM. I figure it will be easier to just delete the entire block and redraw the components rather than trying to fix my mess. I did try the undo command but it apparently will not undo the changes to the block definition. Second question: How do I remove all traces of a block saved with BLOCK and WBLOCK so I can start fresh?
Third question: I will not create another block until I learn more about them. Any reference related to intelligent block creation?
