I have various Button macros with the user input select in them, but in 2014 they dont seem to be working anymore.
they worked in 2013.
It just says invalid selection.

Is ther a way to purge all civil 3d styles in a macro or lsp. -purgestyles does not seems to work. I have not worked with lsp for a while just getting back into it again.
I have seen this used for purge (vla-purgeall File) and (vla-AuditInfo File T) for audit can we somethging like this with purgestyles or some how echo off the dialog that comes up. seemslike purgng styles should be just as simple a an audit or purge, but is seem more complex.
I need a command that will allow the user to select a layout tab. I thought the following would work, but it just ends the LISP program:

I am looking for a way where a user is prompted to select a row of blocks and then that row is completely mirrored about the middle of the selection set - such that if the blocks are originally inserted, from left to right "A" "B" C" then after mirroring, we want them t occupy (roughly) the same space in the drawing area as "C" "B" "A".
Then, immediately after mirroring that selection set in place, each individual block that makes up the selection set is mirrored about its insertion point along the x axis..... basically i need to mirror a selection set of a row of blocks so I change their order of occurrence and then mirror each individual block back again to the way it is meant to look.
Is this possible?
One of our users has recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2005 to AutoCAD 2014. He has a LISP routine that will no longer work and I'm not sure why.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a little LISP I have been working on that creates a text object as a "label" for 2D ductwork our company does. It makes a field for the mlinescale as the duct width, combines with user input for duct depth, and prompts user for location to place the text. The routine is functional...however, I would like to tweak two things that I cannot figure out.
First, I would like the command to continue until the user escapes, similar to the "multiple" command in AutoCAD. I have tried adding a while loop to the majority of the routine..which works until the user escapes...then my error handler undoes everything.
Second, when asking for user input, is it possible to ask for user input without a default the first time, but thereafter remember the input as a default?

I want to write a very simple AutoLISP program to scale selected objects by a factor of (1/25.4). How to I get the program to pause and allow the user to select the base point? I know that "~" will bring up a selection window, but what is the character that will allow point selection (in this context)? While we're at it, what is the operator that would trigger a pause and allow user command line input?

I haven't seen a string command that does this. It always has spaces in between the fetched valvues.
I would like to creat a dialog box with buttons or radio buttons to insert various blocks. something easy to start the dialogue, push the button desired and my block or lisp is inserted or run. I have the dcl part figured out. i'm not quite smart enough to get the lisp down. is there a generic lisp that can reference a lisp command that i can alter or edit and add to?

I can find some crap in the general help referencing lisp and vba, but no clearly organized developer documentation. In the previous versions there used to be an acad_ dev xxx.chm file, that was perfect for the job, but I can't find anything similar here. Do I really need to install an earlier version and copy the file from there?

Switching from 2010 win xp to 2014 win 7. I need my specific user interface , and cant replicate it because of this issue :
I used to press context menu key on keybard to make edit menus pop up . In 2014 even though its same settings (show context menus and time sentive click) i ve lost this ability .
Either menus dont appear at all or they are replaced by the small command line context menu. I think this suggest new command line features are messing with right click options any variable i can turn off , or else to go back to normal.
I have situation where a block is inserted in paperspace before a leader is to be added into modelspace. I need it to work like the "CHSPACE" command - it pauses and asks the user to activate a viewport before continuing.
How that pause until viewport is active is done?
Is there a way to determine the type of ACAD object that the user selected? I need to retrieve the value from either a dimension or text. The info could be in either format so the lisp routine needs to determine what was selected so the correct vla-get command is used.
Once I determine what the object is I can use an if statement to retrieve the value.

I'm putting together a simple lisp routine to issue bound, purged drawings.
I have code that will do the binding & purging but need handling the saving.
This is my approach :
(1) ask the user to save the drawing using this line (command "_saveas" "" "~")
(2) run a subroutine that binds xrefs etc (this works ok)
(3) run the QSAVE command
Trouble is, if the user cancels or hits escape during the SAVEAS command the subroutine & QSAVE will still run, overwriting the current drawing. How do I handle this scenario? Or should my appoach be different?
We are using .cuix file which gives access to tools in custom .arx file in AutoCAD 2012/2013. We load the menu using the .bundle mechanism and the plug-in - using button from the menu. If the user is Administrator (or executes AutoCAD as Administrator) the menu, toolbars and ribbons are loaded correctly and the user can load and unload the application (lisp function in .mnl file is used for that), but if the user is not an administrator either the menu, toolbars and ribbons are not correctly loaded or they are loaded, but the user can not load the application.
We have found that a probable cause for this behaviour is that AutoCAD tries to create/renew the .mnr file when first loading a .cuix file and since the user has no administrator rights this can't be done in the "C:Program FilesAutodeskApplicationPlugins" folder where the bundle is and AutoCAD creates the .mnr file in its own support folder ("C:Users<User>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2012R18.2...Support") together with a copy of the .cuix file and changes the path for loading the .cuix file to this location. Since the .mnl file containing the function for loading/unloading is not copied with the .cuix file the application can not be loaded.
The user has to delete the created files under the support path of AutoCAD, unload the .cuix file and then reload it from the correct location to resolve the problem. Restarting AutoCAD leads to the same problem.
Is there a way to prevent this behavior other then running AutoCAD as administrator (that is not always an option)?

How to add buttons and create my own ribbon in AutoCAD, but now I would like to be able to have buttons for two different schedules that I have created. While I can have a button start the schedule command it won't automatically pick the schedule that I want it to create.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to revise an old dialog box so that I can add some new options but I'm finding it difficult to shorten the label for a radio button enough to get the box width to look reasonable. I read somewhere that Windows fonts cause the label lengths to hold extra space for each character. The webpage that I found this on said the solution was to make a new line for the label, which sounded great to me, but they did not tell how to do it. After much searching, I figured out how to add an additional line to the label, but my program now refuses to function correctly. I set the middle button before initiating the dialog in my lisp, but when I select a different option, the original button remains selected along with the user's choice. The program actually works, using the last button selected, but I really want the button to respect the pick by the user and deselect the default button.
This worked perfectly when I had only two selections, and it still worked perfectly when I added the third option, but it just doesn't like it when I try to add a new line for the long description in the middle of a radio column.
I'm barely functional with dialog boxes..

Of course, these are just the pertinent sections of a much larger setup dialog, but I didn't think I needed to post all the functions that this program is doing, since you'd have a difficult time running this without my templates, printers and a number of support files.
Like I said, it seems to be choking on my adding :text_part { Label = " and Distributor Services";} instead of making this a single line of the label for the button above it.
Why does this cause the default radio button to stop releasing?
I added a couple of standard Autocad MAP tabs to a custom panel and in my custom workspace some of the button images don't show up. If I go to the Planning & Analysis workspace, the images are visible, but in the custom workspace, all I get are clouds with a question mark.

I want it to set up a new orgin and set a base point in xrefs i am creating
The commands i want to combined are the follwoing

BASE enter
The macro i am using is the following

but it wont run the base command after it finishes the 3P command

I also note I could use excel but I have this thing where id like to have the lisp and AutoCAD run independent from other external programs.
I’m the CAD monkey at work and I’m given unbelievable autonomy to what I build (sometimes I confuse work with hobby) put all to one side. My functions often require toolbars with several buttons on them what I would like for one toolbar in particular is to make a most used function button. Better said a button at the beginning of my toolbar, which execute the most used button from within that entire toolbar.
The ideas so far is to add a write-line (append) function lisp for every button this would intern write a button codename/ reference example SNP for snap and SAV for save and so on. All easy I can do this.
What I’m having difficulty with is actually counting the instances of the most used button using lisp. At the moment I’m resorting to a vb.net program, which needs to be shelled first, to recalculate the whole list it works but is messy and quite patch worked. The highest instance would then be used to set a variable, which would be used as the command in the so-called “top 1 tool button”
I need to load a lisp routine by way of a toobar button. I do not want to use the appload dialog box.

When I am in the CUI editor and I right click on a button in a custom tool bar, it gives me the option to "duplicate" or "copy".
But when I go to change the properties of the new button, it changes both the original and the new button upon "apply".
Can I just add a new/blank button? I've tried dragging a new command from the list at the lower left corner but it does the same thing. :?
