AutoCAD Inventor :: Combine Separate IDW Files Into One Master File?
Dec 16, 2011
Just wondering, if I have several seperate idw files and I want to combine them into one master file, is this possible? Would be handy to have all my drawing on one file instead of the 30 or so seperate ones it will become.
I need a way for 2 users to work on a pipe network at the same time. I was thinking about creating Data Shortcuts, but I’m looking for a better way to accomplish this. For example, can I export a pipe network created by another user into a master file? (which contains all my networks consolidated together). I want to work on one part of the network while another user works on another part of the network then combine into a single file so that I reference everything into our P&P sheets.
I have 10 separate drawing files that I want to combine into one drawing and I want each drawing to be on a separate layout.I want to end up with one drawing with 10 layout tabs each containing the graphics from one drawing. Each drawing has one layout with the graphics on it.No fancy paper space / model space stuff. No viewport scaling.
I thought this could be done via Design Center but I've never used that.
I was making some changes the other day to the parts list settings inside of the styles editor and discovered that this involved needing to make the master project file a read/write condition. I was starting to get into uncharted territory at this point, but was proceeding with caution. So I went into my vault working folder in windows explorer and RC'd on the MPF and changed it to read/write. I made my BOM changes and life seemed to be good on the heals of a long holiday weekend. I changed the properties of the MPF back to read only and I thought things were fine.
Until yesterday when I started getting this message. This shows up every time I open and check out a file from Vault. Plus it also changes my MPF on my local drive back to read/write. I am also starting to get this error message when I start a new drawing file as well.
We are having an issue where the master project file that we have created at my company keeps switching back to the default.ipj file randomly. This is causing obviously our template paths as well as other path settings to not be right.
Our VAR told us that this randomly happens. why this is happening or that my VAR is correct in what they said?
New user of Photoshop Elements Organizer 11. I have been labelling hundreds of people using the facial recognition feature in the organizer. On reviewing them I find occasionally 2 stacks with the same person, likely caused by spelling errors. Even if I change the name to match the correctly spelled people stack, the 2 stacks remain separate. How do I combine them into a single people stack?
I have created a parametric, multibody master part file to derive parts from it, and then put them in an assembly. See attached file. Now, I need 3 different versions of this setup (with different values of the parameter 'bending_angle').
What is the best way to do it? If I derive parts from it, they always follow the *actual* status of their master file. Is there some method to do this: "derive from this file, with parameter bending_angle=55deg", but keep the dependency relation, i.e. if I modify something on the master file, the derived part fill follow the modifications (with the value of bending_angle=55deg)
I click the Inventor icon on the desktop to open Inventor, I click the Vault tab and then click "Go to Vault", the vault opens. I open a file to look/modify it. I then click another file to open it also and it opens in a new Inventor window. The same as windows explorer does when you open another web page and it opens in a new window instead of a new tab if you dont have the "Tabbed Browsing: set in options.
I have an IGES file that, when opened in Inventor, comes in as a single part. In the model tree of the part are 126 Solid Bodies, each with a "Base" in it. The parts are all solids, or appear to be. Is there a way to open this file so Inventor makes each "Body" a separate .ipt file, and the IGES file a .iam file (as it can with a .stp file)? I can't attach the file, as it's 36+Mb....
Every day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files. Is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name. If there was a way to automate that?
Is there a quick method for turning a 13 page Ai file into 13 separate Ai files? I need to resave or RIP them as normalized PDF files, and I need to start with single-page ai files.
I have three weeks of photos from a trip abroad. How can I import several hundred photos and organize them into one file instead of separate files for each date they were taken?
I am looking for a AutoCAD management program, that has the ability to use a data base of master .dwg files and turn on or off certain layers and save as a new .dwg file.
I would like to create a master background layer that multiple pages will be built over, while retaining the ability to edit the master background layer after-the-fact which will automatically change all the subsequent pages.
Similar to how an include file would work on a webpage, ie: create the menu as an include file, then all pages that reference that include file would have their menus changed when that single include file gets modified.
Or another way of looking at it: like how headers/footers work in word, ie: change the header or footer and all pages in that document are automatically modified.
Is it possible to have an idw file of a part as the master idw and insert that idw into a new idw or a few different idw files and the secondary idw files that were inserted update when the master idw file is edted or updated?
I am using the same ipt in multiple assemblies and i would only like to update one idw file. I do need to have as many as eight different idw files related to the single part and i would like to only update the master idw file.
I have an assy in which I have created work planes which are huge and annoying, so I make them invisible but when I save the assy I get a message saying the Design Current Design view representation.... blah blah..... or Unlock the Current one.
the activation is failed because the serial number i've enterred is not valid. i install AutiCAD LT on tha same computer with new Operating System(Win7)
I have a little over 100 materials created that I need to add to my design data materials master and to avoid having to go into styles managaer and hand type them all over again is there a way to add materials through something like excel or edit the materials list through excel?
