AutoCAD Inventor :: Change Render Reflection In 2013?
Dec 12, 2012
Currently when ever I render an image using Inventor 2013 the reflection shows a parking lot. It doesnt seem like it matters what type of material I choose or the color that I choose. I have found some older fixes that date back to 2008 but nothing for 2013.This link is the only thing that I can find and as I said it is for 2008.

We went in to the registry and tried following the steps but some of the working is different and didnt want to mess things up.
Is reflection of properties supported in the 2013 api. In 2011 I would use reflection to get the value of properties from objects via a generic method. However in 2013 the properties aren't being reflected anymore. For instance the WorkAxis object only has a Visible property reflected.
Has something changed with the members of the types in .NET?
I'm getting a render error on my reflections, at first I thought it was a distributed render/network problem, but it also comes up in a non-distributed render. I've tried raytraced and mapped reflections and it still appears. My environment map is an HDR image, but it also happens with a tif file. It's like the reflection level is changing between buckets.
I'm looking to use Inventor Studio to render a model, using an image sphere (e.g. Stuttgart Courtyard) as the background.
I cannot find the installed location for these images, so even if it is the active view, Inventor will not allow me to render it, and I cannot manually select the file as my image sphere.
Also, are additional such image spheres available for download?
How do I change the a part material render style within an assembly?
I have tried this below. It changes the name but doesn't update the render style. Sub Material()Dim oassy As AssemblyDocumentSet oassy = ThisApplication.ActiveDocumentDim ocompdef As AssemblyComponentDefinitionSet ocompdef = oassy.ComponentDefinitionDim ooccurr As ComponentOccurrencesSet ooccurr = ocompdef.OccurrencesDim opartdef As ComponentDefinitionSet opartdef = ooccurr.Item(11).Definitionopartdef.Material.RenderStyle.Name = "Red"End Sub
change the reflections in a photo of sunglasses? I have a close up photo of someone wearing sunglesses, and i was wondering how to remove the reflection of the camera, and put in the reflection of something else.
In Inventor 2012 I want to create my own .dds file so I can use it as a reflection option in the application options. I've tried it several times by converting a picture into a .dds file using Paint.Net but it won't recognize the file when I put it into the Textures folder. Is there a way I can do this? Also, is there a specific size it needs to be?
I have a problem with Inventor 11 Studio. The reflection on the ground made by "XZ Reflective Gp" works in a way that when rendered, it shows a partial or cut reflection of my assembly, see attached .jpg file. I have not found yet where this "reflection depth" is regulated.
I am copying chunks of code from the My First Plugin tutorial and am using the code that opens Inventor to start the form. I have both Inventor 2012 and 2013 installed on my system. I have gone in to the properties and changed the .dll reference file to read out of the bin/PublicAssemblies folder in 2013, however, when I run my Windows Form, it will open Inventor 2012 instead.
I heard that AutoCAD use Mental Ray render. How many maximum parallel threads can use this algorithm? I want buy new graphic station based on dual-socket Intel Xeon (each CPU has 6 cores with Hyper Threading technology). Thereby a computer will be equipped with 24 logical CPUs.
Can AutoCAD 2012 fully utilize such a performance for parallel computing when render?
I am working on a 3D model using 3D solids and 3D blocks, then I make a render of a view and works fine, but if I make a zoom in to a zone and render it then the 3D blocks disappear showing only the floor (a 3D solid) and sometimes the render is just plain black, after a zoom out everything works fine. I made an Audit, exploded the blocks, even when making a crop render. Attached images explain better.
I need a render with good Quality, so i define the " standard render" on "presentation", and "render quality" on "5", and image size on 2500*2500, BUT the image Weight gets so low, like 500KB..
I am trying to use AutoCAD to render some small parts. I am used to using Inventor Studio, but AutoCad's rendering tools have taken some getting used. to. I have everything figured out, with the exception of the ground plane for shadows and/or reflections.
I originally wanted a ground plane for a shadow to be projected on. However, I had no luck with that, so I modeled a large box under the part. Using that, I am able to get a shadow, or reflection, BUT, the edges of the box are showing in the background. The easy fix is to make the box larger, however, I need the reflective surface and background to be white so that it can be printed on paper without seeing the rendered edges.
How can I set a ground plane, or model a plane, for shadows or reflections, AND made it true white so that the edges cannot be seen?
I'm creating 3D architectural models; primarily interior views. I use the ANIPATH command quite frequently and I'm good there.
However, I have not been able to render a still camera view that shows the lighting and resultant shadows. Whenever I attempt to render a still from a particular camera; I set it to realistic. It shows the 3D objects with materials; however not the lighting.
I've been using ACAD for about 15 years now, and consider my skill level upper-intermediate.
So far, the only successful still renderings I've been able to do are those directly associated with the typical ortho views: i.e., NE, NW, SE, SW, front, back, etc. But no avail on rendering from the camera point of view.
I didn't notice when and why it happened, but now when i draw white line, it appears brown. I didnt change any settings, just did my usual work, when it appears. Other colors are normal. What could it be?
I'm trying to render some passes in Maya 2013 and Mental Ray using proxy assemblies. The trouble is that none of the passes that do some kind of material definition override ie AO, camera depth work correctly with proxies. I have read a few posts where people have said that these passes need to be applied in the render globals when exporting the proxy file. This method works correctly in Maya 2009 and fixes the issues, unfortuently this method does not work in Maya 2013.
I have been using Max 2012 with Backburner 2013 without a problem for the last 8 months. I have just finished a project so I thought I would test the same project that works fine on 2012 on 2013.
On the render server everything works fine. On all the render nodes I get the following error
Application Load error 3ds max adapter error 3ds max process no response
3ds max 2013 is installed on all the render nodes.
I'm really getting tired of problems going from 1 version to the next. how much time goes into testing new versions each year. I would gladly have less upgrades but upgrades that work
For no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
I have created a 3d model of a football stadium, but when I try to render it, it comes up with this message and it cannot render the scene. I've tried everything I can to fix it, but nothing has worked.
Last week everything was working fine, this week my render window in vacation. Or something.Hit Render frame or even IPR (doesn't matter what renderer I use) and no render window pops up to chew on the image. I get a progress bar and the .IFF is saved in my project folder, but no render window. No error messages that I can see either, maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
I opened a .JT files without issues, it shows the model as it suppose to do and also without errors. When I try render it, it disappears. The same happens when exporting to STEP.
And it is also not possible to make a section view. I have the feeling that is has to do with the fact that JT files are use for visualization. Something with nodes? Is there a way to convert the JT file that it acts as a normal Inventor file?
is it possible to ray-trace and output to file instead of render in Inventor Studio? I ask because realistic visualisation with ray tracing active gives me better results than render. It might be I am using the wrong settings, but I don't know.
